Medserena is a specialist provider of open and upright MRI scans. Our Open MRI scanners are beneficial to all patients who suffer with claustrophobia and have a fear of conventional, tunnel MRI systems. We accept referrals from both healthcare professionals and self-referrals. Payment by private health insurance, self-pay and NHS authorised funding are all accepted. We specialise in providing private MRI scans of the brain, spine, joints and pelvic region. Our Upright MRI system is unique in that it can image the whole spine, including the craniocervical junction (CCJ) in an upright position. In addition, our variPOSE™ technique (varying the pose through flexion, extension and rotation for the scan) allows us to thoroughly assess the effects of gravity and posture on joints and soft tissue. Established in 2011, Medserena currently has 2 UK MRI centres in London and Manchester.

The best upright MRI scanner in London
From the reception staff to the medical scanning specialist everyone was welcoming and very helpful. As I was in severe pain, after a lengthy drive, I was so grateful for the genuine warmth extended to me. This was the best MRI scan I have had, and I can highly recommend Medserena for their professional choice of staff and modern scanner. Although all your staff were wonderful I have to commend Jane, the scanning operator, in particular. Please send all of the ladies my sincerest thanks.

My experience was fantastic
My experience was fantastic. I’ve had many MRIs but have become very claustrophobic and anxious so privately funded an open MRI. This was a game changer. The staff were, without exception, calm, reassuring, respectful and un flustered - total change from my NHS experiences. There was a large screen which the radiologist set up with a film and my partner was able to sit in the room with me. The machine is large but you can see around and out and the radiologist communicated clearly with me about timings. If I need future MRIs I will not hesitate to come to Medserena London and have already recommended you to others. Thank you for your care.

Good, apart from in my review.
Everything was good, punctual and efficient, BUT I found it disconcerting because the radiographer often had her back to me chatting to other staff who came in. Also I couldn't understand what she was saying through the sound system, so I wasn't reassured as to how long there was left etc.

Whilst we do have other Radiographers & Admin staff often liaising in the background, please be assured that your Radiographer completing the scan is sat facing the patient & monitoring the MRI on the computer.

Really friendly and helpful
Really friendly and helpful. I was stuck in traffic and arrived late, but was kindly accommodated nonetheless. I was offered water, changing facilities are very private and secure and the scan itself was so much easier and less restrictive than others I have had elsewhere. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best quality in every…
Absolutely the best quality in every regard from moment you walk in the door: excellence of people, finish of space and equipment made scan more of a delight than a “procedure.” Full marks David, man who knows not only his work but the nuance of interaction. Considering the alternative NHS I have endured will use Medserena even if self pay as it is more than value it is do-able with comfort and confidence in the team. Thank you!

Anxiety and Claustrophobia
Good Morning
I hope you are all well.
From the moment on arrival at the Medserena my son Tyreece was put at ease. The Receptionists were so professional and friendly Big thanks to Emma.
My son has severe anxiety and experiences claustrophobia the Radiographer Bev was informative at the right pace for my Tyreece and performed a seamless Open MRI Head Scan for Tyreece.
We will definitely return to aquire your services for the future.
