Wouldn’t even give half a star if possible. I’ve had tenenats in other flats parking in my car parking space for 12 months. I’ve written emails to them, sent photographic evidence, rung them about the issue over 12 months. After promising me for 9 months something would be done about it nothing was done so I rang again. Was asked to send evidence which I did. Eventually all they did about it was send out a poor email which I’m pretty sure the other residents don’t read nor pay attention to as since then one of the other residents has gone to the effort of buying a banger which they aren’t even using and dumping it my spot where it hasn’t moved from for a week. After telling Lewis Haughton wills about it I was advised to call the police about it as I said it looks like it could even be stolen? I have no evidence this is the case. Also complained that the property is not being maintained properly. 2/3 months later nothing has been done about it. Avoid avoid avoid

Stay away from this agent!!

There are a number of issues I want to bring to your attention, I will start from the least severe:

1. My light fitting broke one month into my tenancy, which I reported on the system in October. 3 months later I had it fixed. This was the main light meaning, had I not spent my own money on a lamp, I would have been in darkness.

2. Our front door was reported broken as soon as we moved in. Countless times they were told, through inspections, reporting it on the system and emails, and it did not get fixed until the DAY AFTER we moved out!! This was a huge security problem as anyone could have broken in through the back. We realised this and told them when we were all going to be away from the property (even more risk) yet they still did nothing.

3. Your 'emergency line'. We had a flood in the kitchen from the washing machine, luckily we were in and managed to stop the flood before it got too dangerous, however there was still a massive amount of water. We followed the instructions and rang the emergency line THIRTY SEVEN TIMES with no answer. Then the next day they had the cheek to tell us that we may be liable because we didn't ring the emergency line.

4. We reported our freezer broken before Christmas, again via email, inspections and the reporting system because it was showing a temperature above zero. It took FIVE MONTHS to fix it! There is not a single excuse for this. This is standard health and safety. We wasted lots of money worth of food and even got sick from the food that had gone mouldy in the freezer. Only when we sent pictures of our mouldy food countless times did they do anything about it.

These issues, all reported on the system, were not in isolation. On many other occasion did we report things and nothing happen on their behalf, but these were the most severe.

Lewis Haughton Wills may one day be a decent letting agents by actually caring about their tenants and not just money. As you can see the major problems we had took months to fix, as soon as there was something we owed they would be extremely quick on our case.

I could not believe that in this day and age, such aweful letting agents exist! I thought there are certain standards in the profession that you would need to follow? Client-agent communication was awful, my emails were never fully read (judging by the poor responses) and any of the property issues reported were left unsolved for months!!! Save yourselves from the stress and pain of dealing with this nightmare and go elsewhere!!!! Far away from Lewis Haughton Wills. I am trying to find something nice to say about them but I really can't.

I am going through a matrimonial break up and instructed five valuations of my property for a settlement figure. Two were business valuations at a cost of £2,500 as I run a B&B from home and my accounts are taken in to consideration making for an accurate valuation. Each were within +/-10k. This company valued the property at £160k more for my ex as it has since transpired that staff from the Falmouth office knew my ex's family and live close by. A letter was written on non headed business paper exaggerating the price as a favour to increase the value in an attempt to increase the settlement figure. If I had half of a £600k sale I would take the valuation myself! All it did was delay the process resulting in a solicitors letter proving the valuation to have been false and exaggerated. This was a drive by valuation with no entry to the property which makes it even more ludicrous. After being presented with the false valuation two days later my ex accepted half of the genuine valuation at £440k. Talking to one of the owners by phone, (You know who you are) was very rude and hung up, it was clear to see a cover up took place to protect their employee who I think did this valuation independently. I visited the company in person and their behaviour was as bad as the phone call attempting to dismiss the issue which back fired on them presuming I would not follow up with a complaint which could be seen as fraudulent not declaring a personal interest. Interfering with exaggerated values just created more upset at a difficult time for both parties. UPDATE Having read the reply had you not hung up on me and continued the conversation I would not have posted a review, skirting around the facts to inflate a drive-by valuation when all you had to do was to contact me and visit the property for a genuine joint valuation like five other estate agents did. I am sure most would think it unlikely five could be so wrong!
