After years of visiting this salon, I had a very disappointing experience and will not be returning. My colour service was significantly darker than agreed, leaving a dark halo around my face and removing the golden tones we had discussed keeping. Dye was even left in my ear.
More seriously, I was concerned about the conduct of the freelancer during my appointment. Rather than addressing this properly, the company suggested I return and meet the same freelancer, which felt incredibly insensitive.
The complaint process was poorly handled. Instead of a full independent review, I received a dismissive response from the freelancer, and I was ultimately told that for independent contractors, the Salon takes no responsibility. This leaves clients in a vulnerable position—if something goes wrong, you are essentially on your own. For a business providing personal services, this lack of accountability is alarming.

Avoid Avoid Avoid! It’s not the first time I have had a bad experience. Twice I have wanted to have my hair bleached and it’s gone yellow. I understand due to red pigment this is natural but the toners they use wash away after 2 washes. I would not recommend this salon for getting your hair coloured because they don’t know what they are doing. Even though they have refunded me, the refuse to try and rectify their mistakes. I was told that the reason they refused to see me again is because I will never be happy. They admitted that they don’t think they can achieve what I am looking for by senior stylists. If this is what they can offer from seniors then I wouldn’t waste your time and money on this. They get a bit twisted with water temperature and ask if it’s ok even though it’s cold. I was being polite with the cold water by saying yes it’s ok and then she switched it to piping hot making me scream. The staff also have an attitude on them when asking questions. They also refused to do my hair when they forgot to do the skin test because mine had expired even though they booked me in. I wouldn’t buy any products of them because the Moroccan conditioner has a slice at the top which was exposed which I did not realise. They only want to refund and cannot be bothered to rectify their mistakes. I would not call these hair stylists senior at all. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

I’ve been coming to the salon for a few years, since living in Cardiff, and my hair always turns out beautifully.

However, the past three times I’ve tried to get an appointment, my stylist has cancelled on me on the day due to sickness. I know that this can’t be helped, but now it’s happened so many times I find that it’s too unreliable to book again.

I no longer live in Cardiff and was willing to travel from Port Talbot for the level of finish I’ve received, but will no longer do this.

From the company, I feel I have not received a true apology for the lack of consideration they’ve shown me. The last contact I had from them when I expressed my disappointment was:
‘It’s out of our control and between you and the stylist’. I was offered an appointment within 15 minutes of the phone call, which, due to my location, was not feasible. I work in retail so on my days off before Christmas I have a tight schedule, and there was a lack of care in their response.

Just very disappointing after I’ve referred to many friends.

I have been getting my hair cut by Laura at Duke Street for years and I won't go anywhere else. She's incredibly knowledgeable and take immense pride in her work, never had a bad cut! Highly recommend

I have previously had my haircut multiple times at the Cardiff salon and it had always been a great experience. It was nice to have found a reliable hairdressing salon.

On this occasion, I had colour done, it was a balayage on brown hair but the results was very far from what my expectations/the look I had asked for. My hair was much lighter than I anticipated and it didn’t suit me. I have had to redye my hair darker afterwards. It was expensive for such a bad result/outcome.

I would be wary of undergoing a balayage on brown/darker hair at the salon. I suspect it would be different on lighter/blonde hair.

I started my journey from brunette to blonde with Rachel, and she has absolutely worked her magic! I couldn’t ask for a better service by her and also the rest of the staff! My hair is feeling and looking amazing throughout the journey! Thank you so much Rachel!

I was rather nervous entering the salon as I hadn't been upstairs and was rather apprehensive about how people may find me. Fast forward, I met a wonderful woman named Ceri, she was superb, she welcomed me over, made me feel so welcome and accepted and seen. She made me feel very special. We talked about everything and anything, and once the conversation was flowing I genuinely didn't want to leave.

Regarding the cut, I have honestly never had a better cut than hers. The care, attention to detail and finesse in her craft is truly commendable and ought to be experienced in person. I was unsure what style and length to go, Ceri took the time to think, analyse and discuss my options, whilst also providing her expert opinion.

Finally, it was a day or two before an important job interview and speaking to her gave me the energy, confidence and strength to lean into my authenticity and just be me. I didn't get the job Ceri but I did get 2 massive promotions. So, thank you for being you and seeing the true me.

If you value trust, care, kindness and true experts who love their work, then Lazarou and Ceri in particular is the place to go.

I had a haircut with Ceri a few weeks back. I am really happy with the outcome and would deffo re book with her! She really took the time to understand what i was asking for.

Was running late, but staff were super helpful and accommodating, I had my hair cut by Marcio, who is always super friendly and works proficiently and always aims to deliver quality service.

Best haircut of my life! Monica did a fantastic job on my hair - which is super thick and hard to manage, and the outcome looked like the picture and it was also a really quick haircut. I've found my forever salon !

Had my first haircut here recently and Ceri did a fantastic job. She really listened to what I wanted, gave great advice, and the end result was exactly what I was after. Really friendly atmosphere too — I’ll definitely be coming back!
