Laura Ashley, immoral and illegal
Laura Ashley was once a great brand! Not anymore and sad that they close on this stain to their business.
I’ve purchased quite a lot from Laura Ashley in the past few years but I have to admit you can purchase non branded items of similar quality for half the price today. Due to this I’m not surprised they have gone under.
I would ask everyone to be cautious of buying anything in their sale or not to purchase at all. I purchased a bed set (duvet cover and pillow cases) which was of premium cost. The item was purchased from the Newbury Laura Ashley store a few weeks ago.
When I opened the item both the duvet cover and pillow cases not only had physical damage to them but the duvet cover also had stains on.
The store was blatantly repackaging damaged goods and selling them on to the public.
On the 26th Aug 20 I tried to take the item back to the Reading branch of Laura Ashley which was still trading. The manager of the store told me she could not take any items back due to the business going into closure. Even after explaining that legally they should be taking back goods sold damaged goods by law she refused to do anything about it. She stated Laura Ashley had stipulated that even items knowingly sold damaged by themselves (which is of course illegal and immoral) could not be bought back.
Laura Ashley have shown that clearly they deserve not to be trading in the UK.
I have now taken this up with my bank.

Went for afternoon tea. The hotel is well overdue some maintenance and repair work. The afternoon tea itself was rubbish. Food wasn’t tasty at all and was overpriced.

Those of you STILL complaining about no refunds or returns - it's been this way since the company re-opened their doors in JUNE. This is the last week for many stores and the staff are quite frankly probably fed up with people still coming in and asking for returns. I know most staff do explain at the till before purchase that they are unable to process any returns, exchanges and refunds. This is due to the company CLOSING. The administrators have passed down rules for the staff to follow and it seems the customers think the staff are making up the rules. There are disclaimers throughout the entire shop stating that no refunds will be given. It is up to the customer to determine if the purchase is worth it for them with that information in mind. The staff aren't there to make the decisions for you.
Dreadful service at the Rugby store ..
Dreadful service at the Rugby store ... rude, obnoxious women on the door treated me like a child as she apparently HAD to watch me apply their hand sanitiser (I mean clearly we can’t be trusted like most other stores but it was a cheap brand that’s full of nasty chemicals so I used my own). I needed a refund and the salesman was equally rude and unhelpful telling me I couldn’t have a refund but not explaining why until I pressed him for an answer. I didn’t realise they weren’t giving refunds or exchanges at this stage. Furthermore like most posts on here it arrived far too late and I’d gone elsewhere because they didn’t send me any correspondence to update me on my order. Now I’m stuck with a duvet set for a client I don’t need. With this type of customer service it’s easy to see why they are no longer in business and with rude, obnoxious, unhelpful staff who were also more than happy to carry this on as I left the store it’s clear they don’t value their jobs anymore.
Who manufactured Laura Ashley beds?
Does anyone know who used to manufacture Laura Ashley beds? I ordered a super king Laura Ashley bed back in January, obviously it never arrived even though LA kept telling me they would fulfil all existing orders for ages. Now trying to do a section 75 claim to get my money back as bought on a LA store card. Really struggling to find an alternate retailer to buy a fabric buttoned bed. Any recommendations?
Wrong order and no exchange, terrible service
Appalling service even though I know they’re in administration. Was willing to be patient but ...
Ordered a lampshade in June. Waited a few weeks and heard nothing. Then my husband took delivery of a pair of curtains destined for another customer in Edinburgh (I live in London). No lampshade.
Thankfully the customer in Edinburgh had received my lampshade and had the idea of contacting me via Facebook as my name was on the order slip. We didn’t want to simply exchange as though the lampshade is light the curtains are really heavy and I didn’t want to pay the postage as I was not confident I’d get my money back for it.
After several holding replies from Laura Ashley I have just been told they won’t do anything about it as they aren’t processing refunds or exchanges!
So we’ll have to exchange the items at our own expense. Had the other customer not contacted me neither of us would have ever received the goods we ordered.
I’m sorry for the people who have lost their jobs, but it’s also not fair to cheat customers of their orders. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy anything from them certainly via the website.

I only gave one star as I couldn’t give a minus ... ordered TWO pairs of curtains and was charged for both, however only received ONE pair , I sent numerous emails asking for the outstanding pair or a refund and guess what -NOTHING .
I have been a customer for years and this is how we get treated -disgusting !!!
Appalling experience
Appalling customer service - Laura Ashley are no longer accepting vouchers. This was purchased as a present for my mother who can't use it either in store or online. They aren't even refunding me for it!! They take forever to reply to emails, and when they do, it's a vague response with no solution or explanation as to why they cannot process a refund. Really disappointed in them and was not expecting this kind of service
Bedlinen high cotton count
Took ages to come and a few emails to chase the order up, but the bedlinen and faux fern houseplant were excellent quality.
I like things to be perfect and these were perfect. Such a shame that Laura Ashley is closing down, they will be greatly missed.
Laura Ashley Fraudulent!
Two weeks ago Laura Ashley's online shop went wrong and made me pay for two orders instead of one via PayPal. Despite over ten emails to the company (and responses!), they have refused to refund the second order, and have even Photoshopped a fake screenshot of a supposed PayPal refund transaction and sent it to me. I've had to take this issue of fraud to the police. I'll update here when I have more news.

After reading the reviews. I was worried. We ordered our goods over 3 weeks ago, today they arrived. Good quality, lovely goods. They just took their time getting here.

I am writing this review to help all of you who are having a long wait for your order. Don’t give up. I ordered items two weeks ago and after a communication email heard nothing for ten days. Customer Services were unavailable so I sent an email asking where my order was. Two days later I received a very apologetic reply assuring me my order would be with me shortly and guess what......it arrived yesterday. Hope this helps some of you.

Placed not very large order (kitchen items) of about £50 on 12 June which obviously not arrived within 7 days as promised. My chaser email on 20 July was left unanswered but email confirmation of dispatch was received yesterday and order arrived today, full and nicely packed!
So all those of you waiting please do not give up hope!
Really upset and let down
I received my order yesterday and 2 buttons were missing and the stitching has come undone, it's obviously been a return which has been sent out to me, it is not able to be worn as it's so badly damaged, there's no way to return the item, no response from any emails and I am at a loss what to do.

I have visited 4 stores in the South of England in the past week, Chippenham, Winchester, Salisbury and Southampton. All members of staff greeted me with exemplary courtesy, professionalism and dignity in spite of the imminent termination of their employment.
I was visiting these stores seeking to replace the ‘missing fabric’ for curtains I had ordered in January 2020, which never arrived and were also meant to match a poorly made Roman blind which I did receive in May. Approximately £750 worth of goods were ordered and never came to fruition.
However, my faith has been renewed by caring, competent staff such as Philip and Anita in Southampton. Philip in particular, used his excellent knowledge and understanding of fabrics and soft furnishings to help a very frustrated customer purchase many quality items. I left happy but deeply saddened at the demise of Laura Ashley.

I ordered goods on line 10 days ago,No notice of dispatch and having read recent emails I am not hopeful I will receive my bedding. I used to love Laura Ashley and feel sad that the stores reputation is now in ruins. Don’t order on line as it’s not even possible to contact customer services.

Terrible customer service at Rayleigh Weir branch.
My mother purchased 4 rolls of wallpaper, but when we arrived home, we were advised by our decorator that we needed Laura Ashley wallpaper paste.
We tried to order this on line, but were advised none left stock. I called Rayleigh who advised you can use all purpose paste. I told the decorator this and he advised the paper will shrink and will not look very good.
We then took the paper back to the store on the 22nd July 2020.
We explained to the young member of staff that they shouldnt be selling wallpaper that has to be put up with LA paste and then not have the paste available. The young member of staff advised she didnt know what to say, so she got the female manager over. When I explained what had happened, she rudely interupted me, saying that we can use all purpose paste. As I then felt like I was going backwards and forwards, I put our decorator on the phone. He asked her if Laura Ashley would take complete responsibility if the wall paper didnt hang correctly. She rudely said NO! and then carried on doing what she was doing.
The customer service was not there at all and we felt like we were in the wrong asking the questions.
Why do people like her get employed to work with the general public I dont know!!
Till issues with poor customer service in Basildon Store
Bought wallpaper at Basildon store on 21/7/2020 as there are great bargains to be had from a great brand. They are offering 70% off final price on the ticket price, very simple.
I was purchasing several wallpaper which had been marked down from £3 to £1.5. At the till - the price on the till did not reflect the final markdown on the item. It was coming up as still £3. Note: if Item is markdown from £3 to £1.50 (unbelievable price for sure), the final price with discount should be 45p per roll.
Here was the issue: the two female staff members became very affronted when this was highlighted to them, that the till price was not correct with the final discount shown. They stated that as the price is reflected on the till and as the price is already very cheap they WOULD NOT SELL THE ITEM FOR CHEAPER THAN THAT. After attempting to show the error, one sales assistant then proceeded to ask ‘Do you want to pay 45p? to which I replied ‘yes’.
At this point, they took the stance that they will NOT sell the items for lower than the price being shown on the till. I tried to inform them that this had also occurred at one of their other stores where the final price was not reflected and staff dealt with it, but to no avail. The staff member stating the other stores have different prices.
On stating they should proceed with sale that I can return and query this, the sale assistants then took it that I would want to return items and were now not going to sell the items.
The staff member kept repeating to the acting manager at time the store was closing, that she does not have to sell the items, that I would bring the items back. This was repeated at a minimum of 5 times and at each point I would to say they should proceed with the sale.
The sale proceeded eventually at the previous sale price but the staff member who kept repeating that items do not have to be sold to me, then proceeded to tell the acting manager that she will put ‘Non-refundable’ on the receipt, which she did.
The items was a give away, no doubt about it. The money paid for the items of no consequence really.
However, the behaviour of the two store workers was something else; very unprofessional, bullying and aggravating.
Laura Ashley sort out your till issues PLEASE and in so doing you don’t get / avoid appalling customer service displayed in this incident by your employees.
