International art fair 2025
Ho visitato la Rome International Art Fair 2025 organizzata da ITSLIQUID e, con grande rammarico, devo dire che l’esperienza è stata profondamente deludente.
Fin dall’ingresso, è stato evidente che le opere erano disposte senza alcun criterio curatoriale: molte accatastate una sull’altra, senza alcun rispetto per gli spazi o per le singole opere. Alcuni lavori erano addirittura collocati in angoli nascosti, tanto da passare inosservati fino a un secondo o terzo giro della sala.
Per quanto riguarda la qualità complessiva delle opere, ho notato la presenza di alcuni artisti validi, degni di una fiera internazionale. Tuttavia, era altrettanto evidente che molte opere erano state incluse solo per “fare numero”, senza una reale selezione artistica. Questo lascia intuire chiaramente che l'interesse primario dell'organizzazione non sia il livello qualitativo delle proposte, ma la capacità degli artisti di pagare una quota di partecipazione, spesso molto elevata.
Il risultato è un allestimento caotico, sovraffollato, dove diventa difficile distinguere l’identità dei singoli artisti o apprezzare pienamente le opere esposte.
L’inaugurazione, infine, è stata estremamente deludente: presenti quasi esclusivamente gli artisti partecipanti e qualche conoscente, in assenza di galleristi, curatori, collezionisti o altre figure del settore che un evento di questo tipo dovrebbe attrarre.
Invito caldamente gli artisti a valutare con attenzione organizzazioni di questo genere e a non lasciarsi convincere da promesse poco trasparenti. Un evento serio non dovrebbe mai sacrificare la qualità artistica a favore del guadagno economico.

We understand that your expectations may have differed from the exhibition format we propose. Our platform is not a traditional gallery based on exclusive artist representation. Instead, we focus on international promotion, offering curated group exhibitions, contests, and communication services to support both emerging and established artists in gaining visibility.
The Rome International Art Fair, now in its 15th edition, has always been held in the same historical location, with a consistent and transparent curatorial approach. Throughout the years, we have presented thousands of works from artists across the globe, and during each opening, including this one, several independent curators and professionals from different institutions have attended and expressed strong interest in the works exhibited.
Our approach is rooted in diversity and accessibility, not exclusivity. We welcome artists from various backgrounds, styles, and disciplines, believing that art should not be filtered only by market dynamics or rigid aesthetics. While the presence of collectors and gallerists may vary depending on the day, our work continues well beyond the opening event through targeted promotion, press office services, and digital outreach.
We would also like to clarify that all information about our exhibitions, including photos of past events, the location setup, printed materials, and our curatorial line, is always available in advance and updated regularly. Rome International Art Fair 2025- A Major Disappointment
I participated in the Rome International Art Fair with high hopes but the reality was a massive letdown on all fronts.
They promised:
* A contemporary art fair of international standard
* A curated exhibition with professional presentation
* Networking opportunities with curators, collectors, and galleries
* Genuine media visibility and documented press coverage
What was actually delivered:
* An opening night attended almost exclusively by the participating artists themselves, with no collectors, curators, or institutions present
* artworks were hung haphazardly, often stacked one over another, with no evident curatorial structure or respect for the pieces
* Virtually no promotional outreach: the Facebook event had barely any engagement, artists were not properly informed or invited, and the event felt far from international standard
* No confirmed media coverage unless additional paid promotional services were purchased, press releases were sent, but with zero guarantees of publication or attendance
* Complete absence of curatorial presence or professional support throughout the event, no communication, no guidance, no meaningful interaction
Adding to all that, when I expressed my disappointment and raised concerns, instead of engaging constructively, the organisers responded defensively and immediately resorted to threats, which only confirmed a lack of professionalism and respect.
If you are considering this event for serious exposure, professional networking, or quality presentation of your work, I strongly advise you to reconsider. My experience was one of frustration, invisibility, and unmet promises.

We believe it would have been appropriate to thoroughly research the exhibition before applying. The International Art Fair in Rome has now reached its 15th edition, and all documentation — including photos, videos, and detailed descriptions of previous editions — is available on the ITSLIQUID Group website and across all our social media platforms.
👉 The exhibition setup has always followed the same format, in the same location — Medina Art Gallery, Rome. The use of cables and hooks is a standard solution required for historic venues in Italy, in compliance with preservation regulations issued by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, as the gallery is located within a protected historic building.
For a two-week exhibition, the setup used — clearly visible in all past and current photo documentation — reflects the best possible balance between conservation guidelines and exhibition needs.
👉 Regarding promotion and press activity: ITSLIQUID has been working for over 25 years across the world with museums, foundations, and leading institutions. Our press office communicates regularly with journalists, critics, and media outlets, sending detailed press releases and exhibition invitations.
As in every edition, we promoted this show through our global network. However, the decision to publish an article, send a journalist, or attend the opening is always at the discretion of each professional or outlet, based on their personal interest in the featured artists and works.
👉 We are grateful for the opportunity to have a constructive exchange, free from accusations or personal judgments. We encourage all future participants to review the past editions, the format of the exhibition, the location, and the presentation style before applying. We are always happy to provide full information — including floorplans and technical specs — to ensure clarity and alignment of expectations.
👉 A suggestion to all artists: ITSLIQUID offers visibility, not representation. We are not a traditional art gallery focused on sales. We do not guarantee a certain number of visitors, sales, critics, or curators attending, just as no cultural institution can. What we do guarantee is our full commitment to promoting artists through exhibitions, press, interviews, and online exposure — and we do this honestly and consistently.
Despite a few isolated situations like this, we proudly host around 150 artists every month across all our venues. More than 97% of our participants, guests, and collaborators share positive feedback, and we always welcome constructive criticism that helps us improve.

Misleading Event Format – Not a Professional Art Fair
I participated in the so-called “Rome International Art Fair” expecting a professional and well-curated platform, as promised in their official communication and website. Unfortunately, the reality was far from those expectations.
The exhibition turned out to be a crowded group show, lacking basic curatorial structure. There were no curators present, no visible engagement from collectors or art professionals, and almost no public visitors during the event.
Despite their claims of high visibility and promotion, the official Facebook event showed minimal engagement and even displayed the wrong address. I tried to compensate for the lack of visibility by promoting the event myself, but the overall disorganization and lack of support made it clear that the event was not set up to benefit the participating artists.
When I reached out to the organizer to request the curator and gallerist meetings that were promised, I received no meaningful response or follow-up. Eventually, I requested a refund due to the unmet conditions. Instead of addressing the concerns, I was pressured to cancel my claim and instructed to remove my artworks before the exhibition had even ended. This felt like a retaliatory measure and a clear violation of the agreement.
Additionally, I was offered a positive review feature in exchange for silence — which I declined, as I believe in ethical practices and transparency.
This experience was not only financially disappointing but also emotionally draining. As an independent artist who traveled at my own cost and trusted in the promise of a professional opportunity, I feel a responsibility to share this for the benefit of others.
Artists deserve honest, respectful, and transparent treatment — not empty promises and manipulative tactics.

In my view, ITSLIQUID is a platform that offers real opportunities for visibility and exposure on an international stage especially for emerging artists. Itsliquid is a very professional, supportive platform and is effective in connecting your work to broader audiences through exhibitions in Europe.
At the same time, ITSLIQUID operates on a fee-based model. Participation, though often open, comes with significant costs and i haven’t experienced much visitor engagement or sales to offset those fees.
Taking everything into account, I’d say it’s worth participating when looking for international exposure. In the end, it can be a valuable step if you weigh the costs relative to what you hope to receive in return.

Venice exhibitions - best experience
I've attended events in Venice both Hybrid Identities and Secret Spaces. I had the best experience an artist could dream of.
From the very beginning of this collaboration I was valued and I was heard. They gave me enough space to express my thoughts, my worries, my ideas, my opinion.
If my message was sent early morning or late afternoon, Giulia Tassi was there for me with the answers.
I had to ship my artwork from Ireland to Venice. Shipping original artwork with long distance destinations can be nerve-wracking, however they relieved that pressure from my shoulder as well, as Mr. Lorenzo was there for me providing high quality service.
The exhibition location was amazing all of the artworks were of the highest quality, I felt honored to showcase my piece amongst them.
At the opening I had the pleasure to meet the rest of the team members of Itsliquid Group, they were all kind, helpful and welcoming. Luca Cruci, the curator made sure to spend quality time with all of the featured artists which I truly appreciate.
