Excellent Service for Decades

Awful customer support
Awful customer support. Totally unhelpful and calls are charged at a premium. Never did sort the problem. I’ve had to purchase a new domain and change provider.
To your reply: the company who set up the domain sold to your predecessors whom you took over. Therefore the domain was not with a third party but purchased by yourselves. At some point this got lost in your system. I a family had a call a few years ago asking if I would like to buy and move the domain as it did not fit in with the new business once you’d taken it over. There is no one to contact about the domain. No third party as somewhere along the line of sales and acquisitions this was sold as part of the business

Hi Caroline, I have looked into this for you to see why you may be upset with our services. I can see that you have contacted us during a recent web migration. Your domain name was registered elsewhere and you had lost track of who the provider was so were unable to update the nameservers. We were unable to help you modify your domain nameservers and I am sorry that you have had to purchase a new domain name but we cannot help you with a 3rd party's services, we did make some changes for you on our side to work around this at the time to help you out.
Our calls are not charged at a premium rate. Idaq has been in business for over 20 years. In the beginning, we were located in multiple locations and offered the choice of a non-geographic number or a standard 0114 number for our customers to use. This made it easier for us to route calls before modern VoIP systems were available. We have not promoted a Non-Geographic number for many years and as you can see on our website customers are given an 0114 number to contact us.
We do not use call centres to deal with customers so that you can speak directly to technical staff when needed and make sure that all calls are answered by qualified technical engineers to give the best support.

I am sorry that you are unhappy, it is not something we ever want to happen, however, Idaq Ltd. has been under the same control since its incorporation. Yes, we have purchased other hosting businesses over the years.
Regarding your website, I have read through your ticket logs and we put a solution in place for you so your site was active regardless of any domain issue, we replied to you at the time in January 2024 and heard nothing from you since that date.
You mentioned that you had to purchase a new domain and change provider, on investigation, it seems that your new domain was registered before there was any mention of an issue with our service. You have a new site on your new domain however the old domain and the web hosting that is still with us is still active now.
Your initial review mentioned that we charge a premium rate for support which is a little misleading as in the past we had a non-geographic number and a standard number available for customers, both available on our website. Your support requests were handled quickly and efficiently so to say support was unhelpful is also incorrect.
If you still need any help with the domain name please get in touch with us and we will do what we can to help.
