Please teach your delivery driver to good manners with customers. One of rubbish service I have ever seen!
Avoid at all costs. Delivery service terrible. Late deliveries,items missing and bad customer service at contact.
where do you begin!! firstly the old cliche "if i could leave no stars i would"!!
How does this company still carry on trading with such a poor attitude towards its customers? I run our family owned newsagents in Bakewell. We hardly ever have our newspapers delivered within our scheduled delivery slot and the Saturday delivery can be anything up to 4 hours late and the sunday delivery up to 2 hours late! There are constant mistakes in the bundles with titles missing and thats after a request for a parcel check to be put in place!! you could possibly tolerate the late deliveries if given a reason why, but this is also lacking. when asking why is the delivery late the call centre rep simply replies with "we've not been given a reason!" Like so many others who have written reviews before this one, we cant move to another supplier as Menzies "outbid" the rivals on the tender years ago and the other suppliers havent bothered with this area since, would that class as a monopoly for this area? either way if we want to sell newspapers and magazines then menzies are the only company we can use!
As regards to the many and varied complaints we have made about the issues mentioned nothing happens, i feel sorry for the people in the call centre who have to field these calls, its not theor fault the papers are late or missing but when i ask for managers to ring me back so i can discuss issues further it doesnt happen and as regards to getting a call back from my actual branch (not the call centre) well ive now been waiting the best part of two years for that to happen!! Menzies knows that so many newsagents have no other option than to use Menzies and soley because of that the level of service we receive is scant at best!! to anyone out there who is thinking of getting into the trade you need to think long and hard before you do because the way Menzies treats its customers will have your hair turning grey and you reaching for the heart medication sooner than you ever thought possible.
after nearly 30 yrs in the business Menzies is the one pushing me to early retirment!!
This company has a monopoly on newspaper deliveries in Leeds.
Sometimes it early afternoon when the morning papers arrive at the co op.
It's been three thirty in the afternoon on occasions for the morning papers.
I live in New farnley village where there are quite a few pensioners and no alternative but to wait on the drivers mood as to whether they get a paper or when.
The co op are either powerless or useless on the issue dependant on your point of view many phone complaints are made to head office and promises of sorting the issue which never resolves anything.
It's apparent the Menzies driver of the day is all powerful as he delivers where and when he desires.
Two years now it's been like this yet other newsagents have no problem.
Menzies have problems with other supermarkets
So why have a monopoly is it a back hander job
As usual.
Worst delivery company by far - I hate that living in the highlands Menzies are used as a middle man. The driver didn't even KNOCK on a door just put a slip under (Whilst my friend was home - this was a GIFT for my friend who has a hernia so isn't able to carry things at this moment in time) - which makes this even more frustrating as the driver clearly didn't want to bring this up the stairs. It's actually tainted the gift a little bit so I REGRET purchasing this.
My friend had called the menzies asking for redelivery as he was working the next day and told it pretty much didn't matter and that they hold the item for 5 day before sending back. Excuse me? what kind of service is that? not even OFFER a solution. So i went online AND I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THIS?
I will be asking for a refund from the company and recommending the invoice MENZIES for this total due to LOSS OF BUSINESS.
I haven't written a review before about this company as I thought once or twice something going wrong is standard - things do happen and I am not unreasonable but I feel they do not care as we are STUCK using menzies in the highlands.
Honestly - this is the last time I am ordering without 100% knowing the MENZIES will not be involved in the delivery process.
(Most places aren't phased it seems by 'i won't use this service again' but I am putting this out there because if anyone else purchases gifts for friends who may not be able to carry items from shops home)
I am coustmer with them !last 10 years they got monopoly in this business if I have choice a will never deal with company this company Lie all the time worse ever company to deal with.they send u so many title and take the money from ur direct debit when u send them back they not always pass credit to you when u ask them they give u refs no which means nothing either u can take to them small county court of u got time to go with solicester .this company is dark light Robert I hope govt break this monopoly
Absolutely horrible service pretty much all around. They send so many useless titles, most of them have a long recall date so they end up taking space,so many useless magazines and stickers. Online account is just as useless as it would rarely allow you to remove a title while adding a title works without any issues. Constantly have to ring them almost every week or every other week because of a wrong credit note where they don't credit you for some of the titles at all or credit you for lets say 5 copies when u sent them back 7,even though they were sent back in the same tote box. Few times they credited me for titles sent in a tote box but then added a charge for not returning the said tote box. I would use some other distributor but apparently this is ur only distribution service in my region.
I ordered smoked salmon from a well known producer here in Scotland online November 12th. I paid for a delivery between Dec. 16th & 20th. On December 24th I rang the fish company as no delivery had been made. Apologetic, but no chance of rectifying the non arrival, next date for delivery would be January 7th...I am calling out Menzies as they were the carrier. I have also sent a strongly worded email to the fish people. Someone sort this out.
Late delivery of national titles is a recurring theme. Whilst the drivers in our case do their best the service is unreliable. What are Menzies doing to rectify this? It seems to be a national issue with issues all over the UK since the change of courier/delivery company. What happened to our customer service guarantee!

Whatever it is that Menzies are doing to their business it is not good. More and more often deliveries are a day later than promised. It is starting to get very annoying.
Left a delivery worth over £200 at my door without signature or any notification of delivery. This is despite it being a signed for delivery and I was supposed to get a notification of time (within 2 hours range) so that I could be in or make alternative arrangements. Absolute shambles.
Awful company no care for there customers or staff no reasonable explanations given for delays in supplying papers unable to do the simplest of jobs
I have just become a customers on first day of trade no papers phoned up depo message was passed on I asked them not to papers in dustbin they did to many papers delivered this Saturday 1/12/18:t v mag missing for mail customer not Menzies could Mr organise a customer yrs not very happyit takes ages to get through on phone .really customer service.
Shocking service in Stockton-On-Tees. News papers and magazines are late most days for no reason and when they're not late there is usually stock missing or the wrong amounts of stock been sent out. When you finally get through to the centre in Stockton to find out what the problems are, you're usually lied to by, who I'm assuming, is the manager. His incompetence clearly rubs off on the other employees and runs throughout the business as the drivers either don't know whats going on or have been told not to say anything.
If I could, I would give Menzies Distribution 0 stars.
