Yesterday, my mother had the unfortunate experience of visiting the store and being treated with absolute contempt and disrespect by Lynne. Having been instructed by customer services online to return a faulty item to a store of our convenience (as we live in Spain) I arranged with Elaine via email for her to notify the Mill Bank store of the visit. Lynne the supervisor was covering for her manager who was on holiday and was abrupt from the outset, perhaps because her lunch break had been interrupted by a pesky customer. Her manner was dismissive in refusing to look at the emails exchanged (formal complaint and offer of resolution). She became aggressive, raising her voice several times to talk over my mother. She suggested that that a faulty clasp on an earring is a customer's fault as they should know this is a risk to losing the item. This final comment completely contradicts Consumer Rights law. Overall, my mother was left feeling belittled and disrespected. It saddens me to read other reviews which also mention the terrible customer service of both Andrew and Lynne on other occasions. Abrasive, demeaning and aggressive are not words I would wish to have associated with team members at my well respected company. H Samuel please speak to your staff about their conduct. Totally unacceptable.

Nothing was too much trouble and we were kept informed through every stage being guided and reassured by Andrew. Who we would judge as a wonderful man and a true asset to the Bury store. The end result could not have been better, a beautiful London Topaz plus two diamonds set ring. We were left very satisfied and would highly recommend and not hesitate to return for any future needs.

Went in hsamuel for a ring to propose to my misse, it was a thursday and it had to be ordered in store and I was told it will definitely be there monday so i rang monday morning to see if it was there and was told it will be there in the afternoon, it came to the afternoon i rang up again to see if its arrived it had not the gobby woman on the phone said she told me estimated but she defiantly didnt otherwise i wouldnt of planned my proposal for the monday, i booked a meal of over 30 people from mine and my misses family and yet cause i was let down by h samuels in bury i had to then cancel my meal and lost my deposit on the meal. Anyway get round to it was told tomorrow it will be there so i rang up on the tuesday to see if its there around 12:30 when i was told thats around the average time 10-12 they get there deliveries so anyway it wasnt there tuesday and was told to ring up tomorrow again so it came to wednesday i rang up again - guess what it still wasnt there was told to ring up tomorrow so came thursday when the manager rang me instead of me had to ring them surprisingly fair enough the manager was helpful but he told me they dont get deliveries mondays so i was lied too all along, anyway my ring was ready i went in store collected my ring and got a bottle of prosecco as a apology's for the delays however the customer service from the 2 gormless woman in that shop was terrible they need the sack as they have ruined my proposal i originally had planned due to them waffling lies...
However i now have my ring but end of the day they shouldnt be doing that imagine if it was my actual wedding ring and id of paid 1000s on 1000s for my wedding and they just got the dates wrong. I originally should of been told estimated and should not of been told monday when they dont get deliveries monday.
I will say the manager was helpful but the rest of them in that shop dont have a clue what there doing but thats what happens when u get clueless young girls working in a store like that. Absolutely fuming with my experience purchasing this ring - im not one for leaving reviews but ive thought to my self this one defiantly needs to be left.

If it was possible to put zero stars, I would.
First of all, customer service over the phone are brilliant and the two young girls I've spoken to in store (one being Ruby) are also lovely.
The main problem is a man called Andrew, the store Manager.
Long story short my engagement ring was faulty and it's down to the ring being porous. I have since been given a refund for previous repairs as it's been proven the damages weren't my fault. The store were told to exchange my ring for a new one (either the same style or one the same retail price as my original one).
After ordering in a ring I liked that was on sale for the price I could exchange for, I get a phone call from the manager, Andrew. Instead of politely explaining that the girl who served me and ordered that ring shouldn't have said I could have that ring, he decided to speak down to me with the worst, most unprofessional tone I've ever experienced.
He was rude, aggressive, disrespectful and just downright disgusting.
Constantly talking over me, constantly assuming things. Assuming that I should know who he is? Quote "it's not my fault you don't remember who I am"
(I'd previously spoken to a man on the phone weeks prior). I'd slept since then, im clearly not going to remember the voice and or name?
Throwing the refund of my repairs in my face - to quote "you got your refund didn't you" a refund I was told I could have after spending almost £900 on two repairs for damages that weren't my fault.
I was spoken to that badly I cannot go to that store again, no one deserves to be spoken to like that with zero customer service. I feel sorry for the young girls that work under him. He's foul and disrespectful.
My husband has since dealt with the issue and managed to get me a new ring. And surprise surprise Andrew was 'unavailable' maybe because it was a man he'd be now dealing with and not me, a woman? Who knows.
I've already made a complaint to customer services about this and it's being sorted internally. My advice is he needs sacking. I'll never recommend hsamuel ever again. He's bringing down not only the store but the brand.

I rang H.Samuel just to ask if they did ear piercings. Pretty straightforward, or so I thought. Not only was the manager rude and unhelpful, but they also made a completely inappropriate comment about my daughter—who’s in primary school—implying she might “cause problems” if we came in.
It was blatantly ageist and downright offensive. My daughter was right next to me and heard the whole thing. For a company that deals with families and young customers all the time, you'd expect a bit of basic respect—not judgment and attitude.
Really disappointed, and honestly, I won’t be stepping foot in one of their stores again. If this is how they treat people over the phone, I’d hate to see how they behave face to face.

I visited H.Samuel to try on a ring and was met with outright disrespect. Instead of offering help, the manager made a snide, insulting comment about me while I was wearing the ring — loud enough for others to hear. It was humiliating, completely uncalled for, and deeply unprofessional.
This isn’t how any customer should be treated, let alone by a store manager. I left immediately and will not be returning. If this is how H.Samuel treats people, I’d strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at H.Samuel left me genuinely stunned. I came in to return a product (well within the return policy), and instead of being treated with basic courtesy, I was shouted at by the manager. Yes, shouted at — in front of other customers.
I was calm, polite, and simply expected a straightforward return process. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of professionalism. I’ve never experienced anything like it in a retail store, especially from someone in a management position who should know how to treat customers.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable, and I won’t be shopping at H.Samuel again. I’d recommend others think twice before spending their money somewhere that clearly doesn’t value respect or customer service

Bought eternity ring for my wonderful wife of almost 68 years from Samuel’s Jewellers at the Millgate Bury.
Both Lynn and Harry were so helpful and so friendly it made the experience both easy and pleasant .
Wife really pleased so looks like we will be back in April ( Birthday ) .

Impressed by the service provided by Lynn at H Samuel in Bury. She was helpful, gave guidance and offered a fantastic service. I needed an ear piercing and expected to have to make an appointment but she was able to do it for me straight away. She told me how to care for it and gave me solution to clean it daily. I will definitely return to this branch for future purchases. Great customer service.

Very polite knowledgeable very helpful nothing was to much. What an asset to the shop. Will be going back again for some jewellry and I'll certainly search him out. Well done James.
We were served today by an extremely helpful lady, Lynn, in the Millgate Centre, Bury, she was so so helpful, it was a pleasure to shop there.
What an experience! I was nervous enough to go and buy an engagement ring, but lynn however made the whole experience seem effortless, a few simple questions she quickly ascertained the type of ring I was after, her knowledge and customer service were second to none absolute brilliant service, unfortunately the ring size was wrong ( not her fault ) as my wife to be has a medical condition and as I brought one of her rings in, that’s all we had to go off, then bring on store manager Adi , swapping the ring three times wasn’t an issue, even then having to send it away again was no issue, I can’t complement the over and above customer service in anyway and will be returning to buy our wedding rings

We found all the staff to be friendly and polite.
Visited the store today having been contacted about a replacement for a pearl necklace that had been damaged but was covered under an additional warranty I had taken out at time of purchase.
Having initially been informed, that as the item had been damaged beyond economic repair, a replacement item
would be offered, but this would nullify any future claim under my warranty terms and conditions.
I spoke with the sales assistant Max and he introduced me to the supervisor Lynn.
I explained to Lynn that I was concerned that the selling of the warranty and the wording of the literature, in my opinion, were somewhat misleading in the respect of the limitations of claim.
Lynn was sympathetic to my concerns and, as an act of good will, offered that the necklace would be deemed as 'repaired' and thus still valid under future claim of warranty.
I am thankful for the consideration given and the resolution given by Lynn and Max.
Harry very helpful helped pick a birthday present for my wife's birthday.
