The tour guide Hans was wonderful. So attentive & kept us fully up to date on where & when he would meet us. Sent us a full detailed itinerary prior to our trip, lovely touch. He was so knowledgeable about the city of Hong Kong and it was great for us to find out nuggets of information we would otherwise never have known. Covered so much ground & a very nice pace. Also gave us the option to add in or take out places to go. All round a fantastic tour & outstanding guide. He told us to contact him if we needed anything else during our trip the very next night we found ourselves struggling to get back from Kowloon to HK island so we messaged him & he called us straight away & directed us where to go. What fantastic service way above & beyond. Would recommend to anyone travelling to HK to book a tour with Hans. He offered longer than the 4 hours if we wanted to add on & normally we would have jumped at the option but we had just finished 16 days tour of China so we're getting weary travellers. Its just to let you know you can tailor to suit.

Jacky was an outstanding guide. His deep knowledge of Hong Kong’s history really enriched our experience and gave us a much better understanding of the city. The visit to the Big Buddha was especially memorable—driving up and then taking the cable car down offered two completely different and equally stunning perspectives.

Unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und mit einem wunderbar individuellen Stil führte Hans durch die Stadt. Man merkte sofort: Hans hatte immer einen Plan B (und wahrscheinlich auch C) in der Tasche, damit jede Minute unseres Layovers perfekt genutzt wurde und es sich anfühlte, als wären vier Stunden Layover ein ganzer Urlaubstag.

Besonders großartig: Er sprach Deutsch – wobei sein Englisch garantiert ebenso problemlos gewesen wäre. Den geheimen sechsten Stern gibt es für die fantastische Organisation im Vorfeld: klare Wegbeschreibung zum Treffpunkt, hilfreiche Hinweise zu Wetter und Kleidung, Abfrage persönlicher Wünsche. Rundum durchdacht. Man fühlte sich schon vor der Landung bestens betreut.

Fazit: Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert – ein Guide, der das Maximum aus jeder Stunde herausholt und dabei noch richtig Spaß macht.

Can’t say enough about my experience. I had a long layover and would typically explore solo, however, decided to do solo tour in order to optimize time. I can’t recommend Chef Hans enough. Truly was fantastic experience. Not only very personable that immediately makes you feel like you have been friends for years but overall just a good person. Very knowledgable, efficient use of time, can't say enough about the experience overall. I will be sure to spend time with Chef Hans again when I am back in Hong Kong.

We had the best private tour imaginable, with Jacky Wong as our guide. On a layover, time and confidence are critical, and from the on time meetup, to his professional attitude, we relaxed into a quick immersion into Hong Kong sights, sounds and culture! We stuck to the itinerary, Victoria Peak, HSBC main building, Hollywood Rd, Wan Chai and Aberdeen, with a bonus visit to see the Peninsula Hotel and Star Ferry! We indulged some snacks as we listened to the history, and Jacky Wong adapted his tour to our needs, us having visited before. Highest recommendation for this guide and this tour!

We went on our tour with our guide Hans. He took us to all the places of interest and told us all the history of past and present. We went in every mode of transport from A tram, taxi, ferry and train. It was a brilliant four hours . Hans was funny too. By the end of the tour we felt we had made a friend . The whole thing made our stay in Hong Kong brilliant.

We are very difficult to please and to organize a perfect customized tour for us as we may want to spend more time in some places and or less on others and suddenly want to make changes to the schedule so we can enjoy the city we visit the way we see fit.

There are a lot of options when booking a tour in Hong Kong, we count ourselves lucky to have booked with Jacky. From my initial message/inquiry, Jacky responded quickly, answered my questions and worked around my concerns with timing and what I wanted from a tour. We had a 18 hour layover, decided to spend the night at a hotel in Hong Kong, and wanted to spend the following day touring Lantau island before boarding our flight. Jacky recommended start times, and planned the day according to what we wanted to see and our flight out. He picked us up at our hotel and kicked off our tour in the financial district, sharing the history of Hong Kong before heading over to Lantau island. We had adverse weather the day of our tour, but it didn’t deter him. Jacky monitored the weather on his phone, and timed the “downpours” to coincide with driving so that every “break” in the weather landed us at our next destination. The man is a pro!
Jacky has a passion for Hong Kong, its culture, its past, and its future. We learned so much during our time with him. It wasn’t just about taking photos or enjoying iconic sites, we learned about the culture and history of the sites we visited. Our time with Jacky was more than I could have hoped for and became a highlight of our trip to Asia. It’s always a surprise when an experience surpasses your expectations because of the effort of one specific person who goes out of their way to make it special.
I know there is a tendency to book tours based off price, Jacky’s Lantau tour wasn’t an inexpensive option. But, there is a reason his Lantau tour costs a little more. He’s able to drive on permitted roads, eliminating the need for public transportation, making your tour much more efficient. We wouldn’t have been able to see everything we saw in the time we had without that access. Also, this allowed us to leave our carry on luggage in his van while we toured sites. Jacky timed everything perfectly, getting us to the airport on time despite the weather and action packed itinerary of our tour. He even gave us direction on where to go once we entered the airport, eliminating what would have been confusing for us.
If you’re looking to book a tour in Hong Kong, book with Jacky, you won’t be disappointed. He’s engaging, attentive, informative, and does his best to make sure you have a great tour of Hong Kong. When we find ourselves there again, we look forward to seeing more of the city with him.

Four of us recently took the Hong Kong 8 Hour Private Excursion with Driver and Tour Guide booked on Viator. The tour is actually operated via “This is Asia” and Jacky Wong was our guide. The tour is also listed on TripAdvisor as This Is Asia Private Tours - Day Tour. This was absolutely the best tour we have taken in the last ten years – we give it 5 out of 5 stars. We highly recommend this tour for small groups (4-6 people) who have limited time and want to experience today’s and yesterday’s Hong Kong without the large crowds. While we visited the major tourist sites in Hong Kong, we also learned about the history of Hong Kong. Mr. Wong was a fabulous guide – personal, professional, knowledgeable and fluent in English. The tour vehicle was very comfortable and the exceptional lunch gave us a taste of local food specialties. Mr. Wong and his company allowed us to customize the published cruise tour itinerary, picking us up at a Hong Kong hotel instead, and replacing some proposed sites to allow us to go to places that were of more interest to us.

Jacky was an absolutely fabulous guide. He was very easy to understand, articulate, and highly experienced...knowledgeable in all aspects of life in Hong Kong. He completely personalized our tour to include multiple cultural and culinary highlights, and I cannot endorse him strongly enough. During a 19-day cruise when we booked multiple private tours, his was our very best.

La recogida en el hotel fue puntual y en una camioneta muy cómoda, Jacky nuestro guía con una estupenda actitud todo el viaje nos llevó por carretera a Macao, un viaje corto y relajado por un impresionante puente, llegando a Macao nos cambiamos de camioneta con un chofer para que Jacky pudiera dedicarnos todo su tiempo y no tuviéramos complicaciones de estacionamiento. We had several hours of downtime between Cruise ending (AM) and return flight back from Hong Kong to Sydney Australia (PM), so we decided to look up Private Tours. We found Asia Private Tours online and liked the reviews so we contacted Jacky and worked out an itinerary to fill in the day. From our 1st contact with Jacky to being dropped off at HK airport in the afternoon, the process was stress free (after 15 day cruise), streamlined and very much worth the time and cost. The Guide and driver were wonderful, professional yet personal, we got to see interesting places that were not on our cruise excursions. To be able to fill in a day, not having to worry about luggage and get to airport relaxed is the way to go!

Jacky provided us with a brilliant personal service, picking us up from the cruise terminal and taking us on a journey that took in many different parts of Hong Kong. Along the way he kept us very well informed of the city’s history and culture and brought it all to life by taking us to fascinating locations both on and off the beaten track. It was difficult to believe it was only a half-day tour, which Jacky finished off by taking us to a lunch venue which combined a vast array of authentic food with an amazing view of this stunning city. Jacky was friendly, courteous and informative throughout the tour (not to mention a pretty nifty driver!) and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking a more personal and customisable view of Hong Kong.
