Im 20. I came here for 1 can of monster, they wouldn't freaking serve me! They said you have to be over 18 to buy energy drinks and caffeine products and asked for ID. There's literally no legal requirements for this! Bloody people aren't doing their job properly. Not impressed at all.

Been the Oswaldtwistle store a few times now and noticed the prices are different on the shelf labels to the ones on your receipt. Called Customer services and they said it is what it is really, Staff are busy filling shelfs and have not got round to change the shelf labels yet.
The cues at the checkouts are ridiculous, 6 to 7 deep, Staff are either chatting on their head sets or having a smoke at the fire exit door on the side of the building, throwing their cigarette stubbs on the floor when finished.

The store in Bury was clearly lacking in the customer comes first rule of retail. Plenty of staff buzzing around, all filling up shelves, one guy milking about thinking he was Captain Kirk with his headset on yet offering nothing.
One person on a till with queues and absolutely no effort to ask for additional till staff and was so slow it was painful. What should have taken a couple of mins took an age and then, as she was giving my change by every denomination known to man, eventually asked for help. Absolute shambles of a shop, with zero visible control over that shop floor. Don’t go in if you valuable time.

If I had not got a receipt ,and had to ask for one even though the next customer was asked if they would like a receipt,I would of got scammed out of 87p 2for£1 offer and 2for £2.50 offer I got charged full price I asked why it hasent come off at the tills was told I don’t know this isn’t my store I’m just covering😳😳??always check your receipt they think your just not going to check ( chilwell store) check check check

I've been travelling quite a lot these past few months and like most people in 2022 have been hit by the horrible cost of living increase in the UK so I have to shop in these value stores. I'm not in any way criticising the cost of items in heron foods I think they are generally good compared to most of the places but some of the staff are so impolite and unpleasant towards the customer. I can't help wondering why this is. Is the training so poor or non-existent or maybe the people that get jobs here don't care about customer's rights or feelings? Anyway the store here in Blackpool ;it's very close to tower; I can't remember the name of the street but I'll come back and i'll put up with whatever so long as the prices are good and the staff can do and say what they like. Thank you for reading and taking notice by the way the so-called service provider on the till did her worst at 16 09 according to my receipt .

Talk about expensive. Dorlay Squirty Topping is either £1.05 or £1.09. It’s 85p in Home Bargains! Heinz soups are (as far as I remember) around £1.40 a tin, Others charge around £1.20. These are just TWO examples of overinflated prices. And, yet, they “claim” to be cheap. Now they seem to have stopped doing their 69p broken biscuits I shan’t bother any more. Shop around is my advice.

I've shopped in herons on n off for years, but NO MORE.
We're all aware of the much vaunted "cost of living" crisis but heron are plain profiteering from it, purchased some confectionery which was reasonably priced (39p) and went back the next day to find the product still advertised at 39p, however, at the till it had "jumped up" overnight to 89p, when I raised the misleading pricing I was met with...."don't you know there's a C.O.L. crisis going on by the minimum wage dolt behind the till, if there were no cameras I would have dragged him over the counter and knocked some manners into him.
BEWARE.... profiteering and shocking customer service at play.

I can't fault the Heron Food store at Riddings Derbyshire. Plenty of brand name products that are reasonably priced also the store is spotlessly clean. The staff are polite and very helpful.

So me and my partner walk in he's eating a sandwich two cocky sales people tell him to stop eating it in the shop even though he's got a condition that requires him to keep his blood sugar levels up.. I had a coffee only. I always walk round with a coffee and nobody ever says anything. But next thing I know he turns round and says it not a cafe. Well he didn't tell me to go outside and i had a brew. He's a 30 year odd adult who knows how to not miss his mouth when it comes to food. So what was the issue. Lost out on sale cos of that attitude. Young cashier and a stocker. Sunday lunchtime. Will never be going again.

This is an excellent no frills supermarket in Workington. It is much cheaper than its competitors.
The staff are friendly and always have a smile and a good craic.

Staff member on the till at Heron Foods Walsgrave Road, was rude.
Went there for my weekly shop, when it was my turn at the checkout the staff ( Callum) asked me if all my stuff goes on 1 bill, I said yes, he then proceeded to ask me if I will be able to afford it as he wouldn’t be able to take anything off the bill. I didn’t take offence then and just said well if you had checked me out before you would know that this is my normal shop. Half way through the billing I asked him if I could empty some of the boxes and take only the contents, he used his earpiece to tell the manager that I want stuff off my bill, I clarified saying I want all my stuff just the packaging boxes removed. I proceeded to pay by cash and went home, I then realised I forgot to buy something and went back, realised he isn’t asking anyone the same question when question he said he felt that the half the shopping belonged to someone else ( don’t know how as he asked me the question when I was putting it on the till) and after I left the shop he called me a horrible person ( over heard by my daughter).

Have been using this store for almost 3 years never had a problem but this was so rude and bad, the staff shouldn’t look at the people and just because we aren’t fair skinned/ Britishers judge us to be poor.

I love Heron Foods shops, my local shop has very friendly and helpful staff and their offers are even better than the major supermarket giants. They have a huge range of frozen foods especially. I just wish my Herons did more fresh fruit but it's still my favourite place to shop.

Visited Heron in oldham yesterday ,was looking for something that wasn't available ,a member of staff (steven) gave me an alternative which ended up better and cheaper for me in the long run .came away very happy .Thankyou

Wife sent me for 2 of the regina kitchen roll theye 2 for 7pound on offer and some oxo cubes and a loaf at checkout girl that's 9.98 gave her a twenty gave me my change I said can you just check the price again of the kitchen rolls 3.78 each she said no I said 7pounds for 2 you've overcharged me.well after she moved me to one side and conflab through her headphones she not very pleasantly refunded my 50p.theyre not robbing me of 50p also no receipts given out careful folks tot up your shopping yourself as they will never under charge you.

Rude rude rude

One of the York stores. Its great I love that the deals rotate I never know what I'm going to find. Its clean and its full of brand name things which are cheaper than the supermarket. It saves me money all the time.

I love my Derby branch, it's amazing with great products and the prices are absolutely cheap.Thanks heron for making such affordable items with great name brands.You are my favourite shopping experience and I can't help but keep nipping in and spending money.

On the afternoon of 15th January I visited Heron foods in Northfield .I was served by a surly youth who was clearly having a social conversation on his ear piece .My shopping was suffering as a result .He was throwing produce through without care and charged full price for some items that were clearly reduced .At the end of my tether , I suggested he should perhaps spend less time chatting to friends whilst doing a job .At this he became visibly agitated and said "i,m talking to you now , aren,t I ?" .

Was in herons foods Concord to find more in store without masks than with,fat scruffy lady heard me say wondered if being fat and smelly was reason for being exempt from mask wearing.
As for management waste of time as no one ever challenged.
I'm in regular and no management ever ask or challenge over masks.

If no stars was possible I would of selected it. Guisborough branch has a rat infestation and nothing has been done. Thursday last week I saw a rat run in the store, alerted staff expecting something to be done. Shop hasn’t been closed for pest control to come in, I pass and pop in daily. There’s rat droppings behind the biscuit shelf, there’s half eaten produce on the shelves, apples with with noticeable ‘teeth marks’ in. There’s crumbs and evidence of the rats getting to the bread shelf left for customers to see. It’s an absolute disgrace to think a food shop is still operating and selling goods while there’s rats, known disease carriers, contaminating food items. Needs closing down and cleaning up! Will be taking my custom to Iceland foods from now on- a rat free food shopping environment!
