In an attempt to avoid going to an ED for a horrible insomnia, used this app for advice and to seek a prescription in order not to miss work. Understandably they could not write for a strong medication. They actually offered to write for Benadryl. $44 for that advice. Was told to go to an urgent care. Paid a $50 copay to be told they don't do that. If urgent cares know they can't treat acute insomnia, why wouldn't a doctor know that? Now $94 out and still wide awake and heading home. Gave honest rating of 0/10 and some concerned person at company asked why. In response get a link to view consult and was told this was a top doctor.

Concern resolved after emailing.

Got stood up for a scheduled consultation...was told to reschedule at no charge. However, got billed again and I'm hassling with them to get a refund. Not a well run company.

I attempted to use this service for a bad skin irritation on my legs. After I paid the $54 fee, I was hooked up with a Facial Plastic Surgeon in California. Really?? I thought it was a mistake. So I ended the chat and they kept my money. I'm still miserable and now $54 poorer. I did receive a transcript about what to do and to call back if I still have a problem. I am already at that point (I still have the problem) and didn't need to pay $54 for advice I can get off the internet for free. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Update: This company did contact me and try to make ammends for which I appreciate. The whole situation was bad and happened at a bad time. I'm thankful that they cared to at least try to make things right.

Paid $49 and what all I got was a very generic consultation.
Medical advices like there should be free of charge.
I would not racommed it.

Crap! So this is why my doctor is on HealthTap to get extra cash for responses and not responding to my email questions through regular hospital visits and wanting to know more about my condition. Of course doctors would spend there time on here for extra cash and not at their desk at the office to reply to their regular patients questions. Makes sense now.

Go to a walk in instead. Spent 49.00 left a message jumped offline before I could respond and said follow up after i get culture without any info.. complained but all the said was sorry even they can see the conversation. It is buy far as huge scam that I am reporting. Please just go to a real doctor

Very disappointed. Seemed legit. Just wanted an opinion before I went for tests and was worried about HBP readings from a clinic visit. Said there was a doctor online, and for $39 I could talk to him NOW! Nope. I send a few paragraphs fully describing what was going on and asking for an opinion/help. Waited and waited and waited. 2 days later there has been absolutely no response. I emailed the company requesting a refund, they told me doctors had 24-36 hours to answer (that was NEVER put in front of me on my mobile device, and EVERYTHING showed the doctor was online and I would get a response, including his "office hours" being in time I was online.

Their response also directed me to their Terms and Conditions, (which was not required or up front when they took my money, and it pointed me to a website form to fill out to request a refund, and that website comes back with "This form has been deactivated and is closed to any further submissions." Nice!

So I'm going to have to lean in the direction of this is a scam, and these people are bait and switching and not delivering what they promised. A complaint has been filed with Paypal, or will be, and since they are holding out doctors as licensed in WV to give opinions, I feel the WV medical board and WV Attorney General Consumer Protection division might need to get a complaint as well. I can afford to lose the $39, but this is a principle issue, and many people can't.

Avoid this company or proceed with extreme caution. They want your money but all you're going to get are the equivalent of Google search results from them.

I felt I could trust the service to prescribe an effective dosage to treat a simple UTI (bladder) infection. The doctor prescribed 250 mg of Cipro, 2x per day, for 3 days. Didn't work and I was told I'd have to pay another $49 for another consult to have the prescription filled at the level it should have been filled to begin with. Went to urgent care and the doctor said to effectively treat the infection would be 500 mg , 2x per day, for ten days with the Cipro. Checked with my primary care provider and his past prescriptions were of the same 500/2x/10 days as prescribed by the urgent care doctor. In addition, I asked the original pharmacist as well and he said he was surprised of the initial prescription as well that the dosage was very low. They must make their money by ineffectively treating so that you must come back. I spent $49 when I could have had the proper diagnosis done at no charge through health insurance but I was in extreme pain and am on bed rest with a broken ankle healing from major surgery and figured this should be a siimple prescription to take care of the problem and $49 would be worth dragging my ankle around town. Not so! And so here I am on bed rest for several more weeks with the healing ankle, with what to do? write reviews.

Wow, I fell for this one... Thinking it was associated with my paid healthcare I paid the special rate of $24.99 for a consultation... which ultimately sends you in an endless circle... to nowhere. You never reach a doctor, you must "choose" from a list of ridiculous ailments.. and of course, you never hear from or talk to anyone.
I was taken for a ride here... LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. You will never talk to or hear from a soul... I was given a "code" to plug in after paying... but of course there was nowhere to plug anything in... just questions and cycling and walls... DON'T FALL FOR IT, friends.

They bait you into using the service with a FREE question. The doctor in my case gave me really bad advice that was incomplete and incorrect. When I attempted to message the doctor about her answer, the system would send me to a form where I needed to pay. When I tried to report the doctor to Health Tap, no phone number on the site so I used email, and all I got was form letters saying we're sorry and here's 10% off. Never addressed the complaint. So this is what you can expect after shell out your membership fee - really BAD advice from their doctors and zero help if you have a problem. This type of service will surely sink them. Sooner rather than later.

Their service does not work. No way to contact the company to remedy a failed service offering. No phone number and no email address. I requested a video service but received a chat service. I mentioned that is not what I requested but was told differently. Fail

anyone subscribing for this service , its a simple online scam. Simple model sell service to 100 and give service to 10.

If you pay them money then just sit by your phone for next 36 months and wait and if that doesnt tire you out then keep sending emails for days for your refund, which you will never get back.

by the way they have NO PHONE number to call, so you send emails and wait for them to reply ( if they will )

best option visit a live doc or find another online service that charges you after they connect you with a doc

Buyer Beware. Paid $49.00 to submit a question to a doctor. Never received a reply - waited 8 days. I am waiting for a refund, which I probably won't get. Why? I didn't read the Terms. (My fault I know - live and learn. I am too trusting and this is what I get) Terms state that if you want a refund, they can offer you "credit" toward another question Another question that won't be answered? It will take them, according to their email to me, another 5 days to determine if I qualify for a refund! Totally unprofessional. Save your money for your doctor.

It seems that a lot of dishonest companies are using a certain business model to lure in subscriptions - the trial subscription to this service is free, but after the trial period, instead of you losing access to the service (which is the norm for other subscription based services such as Spotify) you are instead upgraded to a premium account without any notification and you are charged a monthly subscription fee of $100 USD even if you have not used ANY of the services. I was charged $300 AUD over 2 months before I noticed the charges on my bank statement. I've cancelled my account and asked for a refund but I'm sure I won't be getting anything back. Change this trial subscription model to the one other services like Spotify uses and suddenly your HealthTap app becomes much more acceptable, but the current subscription model you guys use makes it a little TOO obvious that your motivation is purely monetary gains.

I had a specific request/question/need that needed a specialist. HealthTap allowed ANY doctor to pick up my request and I was told "you need a specialist" by 3 different docs in the same session. They refused to give me a full refund and instead offered me a "partial refund" because I received "helpful medical advice."

I couldn't afford to see a specialist in person which is why I went on HealthTap. Thanks to them essentially taking my money without service, I was unable to get medication or go to a clinic. I am devastated and still sick. Thanks HealthTap.

Beyond the subscription options that allow users to talk to Doctors at any time (really useful for quick questions and second opinions) I also like the libraries of free information created and voted on by doctors in the network.

HealthTap allows me to connect with medical professionals for actual feedback instead of trying to research the answers on my own. That peace of mind is invaluable!

Really great tool for getting answers that people really need. It's very easy to use, and has a streamlined user interface.
