Really disappointed
Really disappointed, not the quality of previous years.
I ordered 2 personalised Christmas decorations.
The laser marks on the wood grain are very uneven - darker in some areas and really light in others which makes it look unfinished.
There are also obvious marks in the wood which make it appear damaged and detract from the finish.
The name on one of the decorations is not central so looks unprofessional.
I have contacted the company but they appear to think all of these issues are acceptable!!
This was my third year ordering from this company and these decorations are definitely inferior quality.
I’m not sure I can give these as gifts due to the quality.
An expensive mistake.
Shame…

Besvarelse fra The Handmade Christmas Co
Hello Fiona,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and for ordering with us for the past three years – we do appreciate your repeat custom, which is why we’ve taken your concerns seriously and looked closely at the photos you sent.
Our wooden decorations are made from 100% natural wood, and the engraving is done directly onto the surface of the timber. This means the laser reacts differently depending on the grain structure and density in each area, which is why you’ll see some parts appear darker and others lighter.
The “marks” you’ve referred to are natural medullary rays within the wood, not damage or dirt, and are a normal characteristic of this material. No two pieces will ever be identical, and this is part of the design and finish of the product.
After reviewing your images, we couldn’t identify any manufacturing fault or damage to the items you received, and the decorations are in line with the product description and examples shown on our website. That’s why our team explained that what you’re seeing is a natural feature of the wood, rather than a defect.
We fully accept that the natural variations in the timber may not be to everyone’s taste, and we’re sorry that in this case the final look wasn’t what you had in mind. Our intention was not to dismiss your concerns, but to be transparent about how the product is made and why it looks the way it does.
If you’d like to discuss this further, you’re welcome to reply to our last email and we’ll be happy to continue the conversation directly.
Best wishes
Elizabeth
Excellent quality
Very happy with my purchase. The chocolate bars look amazing and are very good quality. When I had a query with my order I sent an email at night and the following morning I received a reply giving a clear response. I would definitely recommend this site.

Personalised Christmas cracker
I ordered a personalised Christmas cracker for my great nephew as an addition to his Christmas present. I saw this company on line and it was just what I was looking for. Ordering was easy and I could track item. The item arrived on time and the personalisation was great. Beautifully presented and his name was so clear on the Cracker. I was a bit worried as it contained a small minature of alcohol but worrying unnecessarily, it was packed great. I would recommend this company for something a bit different and will certainly use them in the future. Well done.
