What a gem of an Auction House

What a gem of an Auction House, items beautifully displayed which is great for sellers, timely condition reports and unbelievably kind and helpful staff - honestly they are one of the best houses I have bought from, incredible service.

Do not trust these people with no moral.

I reluctantly publicize my comment. I believe that this is an only way to get a reply from unprofessional auctioneer. I purchased a perpetual wooden wall calendar at House and Garden Sale 16/03/2026. Soon after I received an invoice I paid and requested their pack and send service. There was no reply. Since then I have sent to ask update several times, but nothing came back, even though I sent to not only client service departments but also higher peoples.
I am quite confident that Gorringes did something wrong such as lost, got damaged or missent and
tried to cover up as an organization. Do not trust these people with no moral.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for highlighting this issue. I am glad that your lot is now on its way to you and due for delivery this afternoon. As we have discussed during this week, your emails to us were being blocked by our spam filters due to a combination of factors:

* Your email server is based in South Korea;
* The subject line contains the word “Invoice”; and
* The emails contain foreign characters (as a result of being sent via a Korean server).

Rather than a case of us losing the item, damaging it, mis-sending it and covering it up, and/or being immoral people, your emails were simply not reaching us due to our IT security measures.

As a near 100 year old family business (I am the fourth generation to work in the business), we pride ourselves on our integrity and customer service. Our pack and send service receives consistently positive feedback.

I am sorry we didn’t meet our usual high standards on this occasion. We hope you enjoy your clock.

Great staff!!

Simply excellent to deal with!
I bought 6 pieces of studio pottery at auction. The condition reports were excellent, photographs and descriptions spot on. Paid a very reasonable price for shipping on Monday evening (2/07/2026)…. Arrived this morning at 10am (3/07/2025). Packed superbly everything intact couldn’t wish for a better service.
Staff top notch!!

I've been doing remote auction buying…

I've been doing remote auction buying with Gorringes since 2021 (I'm located in the States). You couldn't ask for better service and communication. Auction lot photos are good and descriptions accurate. I've always been very pleased with my purchases (and especially the items I just received). Thank you, everyone at Gorringes!

Super fast dispatch! I bought my items via The Saleroom on the 19th of May, and they arrived on the 21st of May! Very pleased with service

Top Class Act

I have bought through this auction house three times recently. The quality of service is far superior to many others. From cataloguing right through to delivery is excellent. I know auction fees are high but in their case I feel I get value for money
