Hi Mr. Senatore - I'm sorry you had a bad claims experience - definitely very frustrating! Especially when police won't issue a report for you and it breaks the whole process downstream. Odd! As your adjuster wrote while your claim is closed we'd be happy to reopen it at any time with the documentation, and I see you've contacted the department about it as well. We completely understand how frustrating it can be to see an increase in your premium, and hopefully we can provide more context.
Insurance rates can change for a variety of reasons. These may include updates from third-party data providers regarding risk assessments, regional trends such as weather or fire risk, inflation in repair and replacement costs, or changes to underwriting guidelines.
As with all state regulated insurance, any rate changes we apply are based on carrier filings reviewed and approved by the State. While significant adjustments are uncommon, we are required to use the most current data available to ensure pricing remains fair and accurate across all members.
And sometimes that's a big jump! So, apologies you had to experience that.
