I'm not a frequent customer but have bought Gill water sport products on-and-off for many years and found them to be of very good design and quality. Had recent cause for the first time to contact UK customer service with some after-sales feedback and was blown-away (ha!) by the outstanding responsiveness and professionalism of the experience.

I have used Gill equipment for decades. Great stuff and with excellent support in the rare case when needed.

Bought a Gill watch. Unusable low volume levels. My request for support was ignored and when I chased this up I was told that the Product Manager was in meetings so an answer couldn't be given

A fine company wrecked by untrained staff. I will not use Gill again

gill is a great company and I have used their brand for my sailing career for many years. the products are durable and can lase a very long time.

Total Scam!! Purchase 249.00 dollars worth of sailing shorts. None of them fit so I followed return policy to the letter and paid another $ 24 to return them priority mail. Items were returned back to me with a stamped "unclaimed". Called customer service and was promised a call back from "Kathy". Never received a call back. Total Scam Company!!!

Once a year I do the 300 mile offshore coastal race in sunny Queensland, apart from that, my gear is rarely used.
In April 2019 I purchased a Gill OS1 jacket and trousers.
In April 2021, while preparing for our local race I noticed delamination of the inner linings.(Delamination= leaking) I immediately returned both jacket and trousers to the chandlery for repair/replacement. Almost exactly 2 years old.
The local rep contacted me and offered to swap a new OS2 jacket for my leaking OS1 jacket. I refused. He asked whether I had put my gear thru a washing machine or hosed them with a high pressure hose. I answered no. He told me this had never happened before and I was the only one.
After about 6 months my jacket was replaced but my trousers were never replaced. No explanation.
Just finished the 2022 race and unsurprisingly my trousers leaked. (Like sitting in a puddle)
I saw the rep at the end of the race and was told that the trousers were now out of warranty.
Naturally I am disappointed with the Gill offshore gear now 3 years old.

J'ai acheté un article pour un cadeau de Noël.
J'ai commis une erreur de taille.
Le retoue devait être possible pendant 90 jours pour 5,5€. Finalement lorsque je veux renvoyer l'article, on m'indique que le délai est passé à 30 jours et les frais à plus de 22€ (l'article m'a coûté entre 25€ et 30€).
Après réclamation, le délai d'origine peut m'être appliqué mais il n'y a rien à faire pour le tarif sauf attendre que celui-ci baisse (sans que l'on me donne de délai). Ce serait dû au Brexit. Nous sommes désormais fin avril, et le site refuse le renvoi pour cause de délai dépassé. Je viens de faire une nouvelle réclamation. C'est usant. Tout est fait pour que le client abandonne. Cela me rebute à acheter sur le net.

i owned a pair of gill deck boots. they lasted 12 years. they finally cracked and leaked. i replaced them with a new identical pair. those pieces of worthless junk didn't last 7 months and cracked and leaked. i even went and purchased shark boots. they as well are crap. you will never get another cent from my pocket. i'm even posting photos on social media for the public to see the proof. they are 110% crap!

Years ago Gill was a very respected name for highest-quality sailing gear. Unfortunately things have changed drastically for the worse. I believe that the company was purchased by a private equity firm and the usual cost- and quality-cutting has started. Now the waterproofing materials in their offshore foul weather gear are cheap and the sealed internal membrane seams fail quickly. Impossible to say that their "lifetime guarantee" is even worth anything now; not even sure the company will survive!

I have bought (very expensive) trousers for ocean sailing from Gill. With my purchase I was promised live long guarantee. The trousers fitted great. Unfortunately they started leaking at one knee. I send the trousers back to Gill, but they will not repair or replace the trousers, since they consider it to have 'dirt' on it. To me the trousers look as good as possible after a few years of usage.
To me, Gills live long guarantee seems absolutely worthless now, since they only seem to grand the guarantee if the product seems like new...
Really a pity.

Bought their new ladies 0S2 Coastal sailing jacket. Worn this season on my Baltic sail. When it rains and if you put your hands in the pockets all the water runs down the arms into the pockets soaking the lining. At first they were great and sent me a postal voucher to return but now say there is no quality fault. I have pointed out it is a design fault, they say no complaints before!! They have declined coming sailing in the rain, declined giving me a refund or a credit note.
MUSTO for me from now on.

I would give Gill a zero if it was an option. I bought a vest in June and the zipper failed on my first overnight race. I called and they said we can't refund or replace we will repair. It's August 29th nearly 67 days later and I don't have a vest or a refund and zero communication from Gill despite me contacting them via their website and talking to customer service - The actually told me their repair lady lived just down the street and has been ill... what kind of operations is GILL?

The wetsuit shorts and wet boots I ordered from Gill Marine arrived with in three days as promised. I purchased both of these as "clearance items", They were brand-new, high quality gear in the original factory packages. The Medium Hiking Shorts and the XL Skiff Boots (size 13 for me) fit just fine. I am pleased with the gear, the service and the price!

Coat has already lost it's waterproof ability after 4 months :(

I've contacted all leading sailing brands and Gill went above and beyond the competitors. A very rare response and personal service with fantastic products totalled over £1,000. A first choice for future clothing and footwear. A pleasure to deal with, thank you!

I have bought from Gill on several occasions now and find their gear to be of the utmost quality. Proper sailing gear for those days when the weather throws everything at you. I use their website as it always has the full range in stock. I would recommend.

As a customer that has bought a large amount of kit from Gill, in preference to all other suppliers, I equally value the quality of product and quality of service. Recently, I had occasion to return and item for repair - my fault that it was damaged - and was simply delighted with the personal response.
Working with Gill as part of an organisation I found the company very knowledgable about every aspect of life afloat and extremely flexible.

Recently updated some of my dinghy sailing kit - found the new website much easier and intuitive than the old site. Loving my new soft-shell jacket, hikers rash vest - bring on the summer!

I really like all my Gill Marine kit. Recommended.
