I stopped using this because there are not enough stores in my area that are on this app, I don't eat a lot of fast food and I get my gas at Costco.

I was originally pleased to participate in the Upside reduced rate/cost program. Using it primarily for fuel, the opportunity to save was appreciated. The first disappointment was the photo submission of my receipts. What I can read clearly, Upside finds difficult. Out of the last ten submissions, two were refused for missing or unreadable information on the receipt. It was so much nicer when I didn’t have to make these receipt submissions. The second disappointment was the amount of savings. The Upside app clearly states the amount of reimbursement. However if you are on a cost saving program with your fuel retailer, Upside doesn’t reimburse the advertised amount, but provides a reduced rate. They should be reimbursing at their advertised amount. A recent review suggests I could save more with a competitor.
Good program concept if they provide what they promised.

It is definitely frustrating when receipt photos get rejected or when earnings adjust because of retailer discounts. Making sure the entire receipt is flat and well-lit can often help with image clarity, but our support team is always glad to step in. Please reach out to them directly so they can take a closer look at those declined receipts for you.
Upside has been great for me
Upside has been great for me, my family and my friends. The app is easy to use when buying gas and at restaurants. The response time from Upside is immediate. When converting your savings to a gift card is extremely easy. I think they should have electronic cards, but they do not.

No way to earn 2 or 300 dollars your lucky to earn 2 or 3 cents per gallon and half the time they tell you something went wrong so we can't pay you.3 years and I'm lucky to have made 100 dollars By the time you find out there is a problem it's to late

I like the app, just wish the cash back was a little more. They started off with a giant savings on groceries and I squandered it on a small $25 order lol. If I had known that savings wasn't going to continue I would have made it worth my while! Gas savings are pretty good and they stack with certain gas station rewards programs (not always though, sometimes they will remove the savings you get from the station and then credit you with the remainder, just depends on the place). It takes awhile to earn any significant amount, think I'm going to hit around $60 this year so not getting rich but still worth the minimal effort required imo.

Easy cash back
I have been using Upside since August 2026 and I have earned $50.71. I use it for buying groceries, and getting gas in my car. The app is easy to use and very clear on offers and what is expected to earn the discount. The turn Arlin from uploading the receipt to getting the earrings added to my account is very fast, usually less than 24 hours.

Horrible, this happened 2 years ago but they want a review so I’ll leave one. Reached $20 in cash back, tried cashing it out, everything was looking good until I never received my cash back. Horrible
Horrible, got up to $20 cash back. Cashed out and never received my $20. What a scam. Waited 1 week, 1 week turned into 2 and so on. Never received it. Since I technically didn’t lose any money, I just cancelled them. This happened back in 2024, They reached out for a review well you got one. Will not be using this app again

What a joke!!!
They offered 20 to 20 cents off the first 2 times I used it. Now they want you to drive across town to save one cent off per gallon! And the gas stations that participate in the programs are ALWAYS higher prices than the gas station across the street from my shop. If you wanna save money, go to Sam’s Club or Costco.

Upside started out really great but…
Upside started out really great but after the first couple of times I used for groceries the percentage changed and has stayed at 1% off. That percentage is not even worth counting. I got 1 person signed up and I got a little extra for 1 use. For someone who wants to use this app they should at least keep it higher than 1%!

Upside has helped me save over $65 in 2 months! Let that sink in. From buying groceries, eatting out, and gas, i have got $65 back. $65 I would not have otherwise. I do not even get out much. I saved $35 on groceries, why would you not do this. Its a no brainer!
