We used this firm to sell my late mother's house. Less than 5 minutes from estate agent calling to say it was sold Chris sent the paperwork over.
The buyer subsequently pulled out and when a new buyer was found this was handled by Gamze. Gamze did a brilliant job. There were some delays/problems with the buyer finding the deposit, but Gamze kept us in the loop not just via email but also by calling me and my sister. Their rates were similar to other conveyancers. Gamze responded to any questions very promptly and provided a first class service. We were very very impressed.

These Solicitors are vagabonds and to be avoided at all costs.

They have sold a house where a vulnerable woman, with several disabilities, lives. She was offered a flat, by these solicitors, to move to but put in such high demands on the sellers, that the sellers have pulled out. This vulnerable woman will now be out on the streets!
She has poor communication skills due to a brain injury and struggles with everyday life.

I would give negative stars if it were possible. They are utterly inept. Lied about sending out forms and blamed Black Friday and holiday period (in mid of November) for delays in sending out forms. On another occasion they sent the wrong forms. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

oh my god!! This bloody solicitors. My Son used these and were terrible and unfortunately my buyer is using these. Constantly asking for stuff that was sent ages ago not once but twice. Supposed to have been completed in Sept and still they are asking for stuff which even the Estate Agent has resent them. There is only my buyer in this chain so can only imagine the grief if more. Avoid at all costs

No direct experience, but in a chain of three properties for sale, two of the searches have been thorough and completed. Bafflingly, we are still waiting on Gepp after 2 months. I’ve reminded myself to never use them for anything serious.

Unethical business practices.
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by gepp solicitors.
My engagement with this solicitor began after receiving correspondence from the police, inviting me to participate in a voluntary interview. Upon contacting the solicitor, I was presented with a compelling argument emphasising the importance of legal representation, which persuaded me to secure their services for an anticipated duration of one hour, alongside additional funds to cover potential future legal proceedings.

Regrettably, the service fell short of my expectations. The appointment commenced with a significant delay, and the advice dispensed was of a nature I discerned could be readily accessed without charge through public sources. Despite my initial acquiescence to the fee of £350 per hour based on the solicitor's assurance of value, I was subsequently billed a total of £924, in stark contrast to the £350 per hour rate quote.

Upon querying the discrepancy, it was explained that the billing included one hour for the consultation, an additional hour for preparatory work, and further charges attributed to administrative tasks. Given the minimal documentation provided for review — a single document comprising a brief paragraph — I requested a detailed breakdown of the preparatory and administrative charges. Unfortunately, my request was met with obfuscation rather than clarity, leaving me with a sense of having been unjustly overcharged.

As a professional accustomed to transparent hourly billing within my own industry, I find such practices not only unacceptable but also antithetical to the principles of fairness and accountability. It is my belief that clients deserve a clear and justified accounting of services rendered and associated costs. The lack of transparency and justification for the charges levied by this solicitor has compelled me to question the integrity of their billing practices and to caution potential clients about my experience.

The process was simple and the required signatures etc laid out in an easy format by Chris who was doing the conveyancing. We were kept updated on how the sale and purchase was going. The cost for the services was reasonable and I have used Gepp in previous purchases of property. An efficient and good solicitors practice for your home move.

My father has had to sack this company, they don't defend legal aid cases properly and their barrister trys to cover up police wrong doings and seems to works for the CPS not the defendant. They also allow police time to destroy some evidence of police wrong doings towards their client and to help police try avoid accountability.
If your freedom and character is on the line then avoid this company at all costs as your just a statistic to them and used like a pawn in a game of chess and seem to be thrown and traded with the CPS so they can trade off another case. The Barrister they use seems to work both sides of the bench. Some barristers even want to work for the CPS or want work off the CPS so they will try to keep the CPS happy and will throw you to the wolves for their own selfish gain and interest.

We had to move within five weeks of finding the property we wanted to purchase otherwise our chain would have collapsed. Katie Jackson and her team at the Chelmsford office were fantastic. They moved heaven and earth to get us to completion in that time. They got the sale of our existing house and the purchase of the new one through in what seemed like record time. I have nothing but praise and admiration for Katie and her team. I would not hesitate to use them again should the need arise. Thank you again for everything you achieved in such a short time.

Worst Solicitors I have ever seen. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Wish I knew they are totally incompetent and useless from the start. Terrible experience dealing with them with selling of my property. Every time you call them phone goes to an assistant of solicitor who will throw every excuse under the sun to avoid you talking with the actual solicitor. And you can sense she’s in great hurry to cut you off and want you to put down phone, atleast 4-5 times she said the solicitor will call you back but that will never happen. Every time you email them you can bet you won’t get any reply no matter how urgent it is.

They never bothered to reply to emails from my other solicitor who were chasing them literally every day regarding our completion date. The only time I got email from them is when I owed them monies. Since then no communication whatsoever.

Thanks to them my completion date is now changed and I’m suffering extra stress until it’s all done now only because they didn’t show courtesy to reply to emails and failed to notify buyer solicitor on time to arrange funds. I have to take extra time off and stress because of their inefficiency, utter ignorance and complete unprofessionalism to give reply to my seller solicitors since one month.

To the actual owner of the firm - If you’re really serious about running this business get back to me and I’ll help you with names of that solicitor and his assistant who thinks it’s not necessary to reply to their customers urgent calls or emails. These guys in office will eventually force you to loose your business whilst on their full pay doing nothing.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COST, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER DECENT CONVEYANCE SOLICITORS WHO ARE FAR FAR BETTER THAN THEM.

This company is definitely one to avoid. My daughter used them to go to court against her ex partner. Long story short after one court appearance decided she was better off to represent her self as the Gepp & solicitors just agreed with everything that her ex’s solicitor said and didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing. So we sacked Gepp solicitors. Also she lied to us telling us we could cancel whenever we want and have since been charged the full amount even though most was done by my daughter. I later found out that she no longer works for the company but they still charged us and may have still known how bad she was. Save your money and steer we’ll clear of them
