I ordered the Emerson tote and just received it, absolutely devastated!! Not the color I ordered and I was shipped a USED damaged bag! There was gum wrapper trash and crumbs in it, 3 broken metal feet on the bottom, pen marks on the leather, big scratches on the leather from someone’s nails it looks like, no store tag on purse!!!! And smells like cigarettes! Disgusting!!

Ordered shoes for my daughter been given multiple delivery dates now for last 4 days it says preparing for shipping, how long does it take to put it in a bag? When I talked to customer service about canceling they said its preparing to ship cant cancel Ridiculous

I have never had even one problem with anything I’ve ordered from Free People. I have received probably 30 shipments from them in the past 6 months and have been very happy with everything I’ve ordered. The clothes are excellent. The shipping is fully within their stated window. I am perplexed at how they have received so many negative reviews when I’ve ordered so much and haven’t had even one issue. I suspect some of these negative reviews are trolls. Anytime I’ve needed to return, I take it into the store and the clerks are friendly and exceedingly competent and no questions are asked. I want more Free People!!!

Received we the free Camden sweatshirt today Rrp £70 - it arrived with at least 15 serious defects. Really poor. Am sending it back for a full refund.

I really wish I could give this company zero stars as even giving them one star is far more than they deserve. Their customer service is absolutely appalling and the worst I have ever experienced.
I placed an order with a birthday gift card and received a shoddy cheaply made dress (literally falling apart at the seams with lots of stitching undone and embellishments that had already come off). I do not understand the price at all when I have owned far higher quality from Primark. (This dress originally retailed for £238 but was reduced to £59.95 in the sale).
I finally received a refund for the faulty dress after a week long email battle with customer service, however the tricky part was refunding the gift card. Policy was that I was to be sent a new one. However customer service sent it somehow to an old deactivated email address which isn’t even listed on my account anymore and also was NOT the email address I was corresponding with them with. They then sent me a new gift card nearly a week later but this time without the important PIN number needed rendering it unusable. Now customer service are telling me they can’t fix this issue or give me the PIN number. Apparently only head office can fix this (not their gift card team) and I am to await further information from head office, however there has been no further contact and no one can help. Emails have gone ignored or I’ve not received emails when I’ve been told they’ve been sent. It’s been an absolute horror and and mess of either deception or sheer incompetence. I am now believing this company is now nothing more than a disgrace of a scam and I warn anyone not to spend their hard earned money here!

I wish I could give it none. This company has sent me faulty items multiple times, made it impossible for me to get refunds, and has lost my parcels and refused to help me. The customer service is beyond awful. Do not buy at free people. Free People is an incredibly clever establishment - they call themselves 'free people', they scream about their environmental efforts, and they charge a disgusting amount for every item - which therefore tricks you into thinking they have high quality clothing. Their items are factory made and worse quality than primark, you're just spending hundreds of pounds. Don't fall for it like I did!

Une honte, produit arrivé non complet (ceinture intégrée) ! Après presque 2 mois après le renvoi du pantalon avec preuve de réception, je n’ai toujours pas reçu le remboursement qui s’élève tout de même à 168€ !

Don’t buy from this company. I have been trying to return a pair of jeans that cost over £100. Website states unable to return because they haven’t been delivered yet. Order status says delivered. AI sent me round in circles.
Put through to an agent that took 3 hrs to connect. The outcome was just to wait till the website updates. Guess what….still says i have no eligible item for return a day later?!

Wouldn’t give it any star. Completely fake advertising of products and information. Ordered a top…. Completely different colour, size, quality and design from photo advertising it. Dreadful quality, laughable and immediately realised I’d been conned. Offers complete refund but not able to activate instructions from website. Do not order from this company!!

I received only part of my order, items missing. Company refused to refund or replace. I am going to solicitors .

I have purchased many of my clothes from free people. For example, I purchased a romper and a pair of jeans. The romper has multiple holes in it after only wearing once. Although I had it for more than a year. I only wore it twice. Now there are multiple holes on the seam of it. There is also a hole in the leg of the blue jeans, after less than a year.

Genuinely terrible,
Bought some asics and I was sent the wrong shoe and it was used and battered, I sent the return and they refused to refund me, customer service was terrible. I would attempt to speak to an agent and would be put in a queue for 6 hours only for the agent to connect then disconnect. When the agent would connect they wouldn't read the previous chats so I had to explain my self over and over and ultimately never received a refund. DO NOT BUY

I almost didn’t order from this store after seeing the reviews here, so I wanted to share my experience because it was actually very positive.

I ordered a dress and it arrived exactly as described. The quality is really good, with beautiful details and a lot of fabric in the skirt, so it feels well made and not cheap at all. The fit is also very flattering.
Shipping took a little time since it was sent internationally, and I had to pay import taxes when it arrived in Norway, but that’s normal when ordering from abroad.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and the dress is even more beautiful in person. I just wanted to leave a review because if I had only read the negative ones here, I probably wouldn’t have ordered and that would have been a shame.

I purchased a jacket in store and washed the jacket in accordance to the instructions on the jacket. The black dye of the jacket stained the cream collar a splotchy gray/blue. I contacted Free People customer support and was told there was nothing they could do because I purchased the jacket in store. I am an avid shopper and have a trove of online orders attached to my account. Very disappointing to know that if you shop in store with them, there is virtually no online support. And the saddest part is I loved the jacket and now cant wear it. RIP to my favorite jacket.

J’ai commandé plusieurs articles en décembre, ils sont arrivés par 3 colis séparés, de différentes provenances, cela a pris pas mal de temps mais tous les articles, sauf un, étaient parfaits, conformes aux photos et apparemment de bonne qualité (j’attends cependant de voir après quelques lavages). En revanche, un article (une jupe en jean à 138€) était franchement de qualité médiocre, avec des boutons très bas de gamme. J’aurais payé maximum 25€ pour un tel article en magasin. Je l’ai donc retourné, et là, surprise, 20€ de frais d’expédition ! Je commande régulièrement en ligne, c’est la 1ere fois que je dois payer pour renvoyer un article ! De plus, le remboursement n’intervient qu’après avoir contacté le service client, plus d’un mois après le retour. Un peu fastidieux, leur politique de retour ! Moralité : à moins d’être absolument sûre de la qualité, de la taille etc (mais comment ?), je ne recommanderai pas.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Free People.

My mum bought me a pair of jeans in November as a Christmas gift — a pair I had wanted for months. When they arrived, they were four sizes bigger than what was ordered, with no explanation. Instead of informing us that the correct size might be out of stock, the wrong item was just sent.

We reordered the jeans and once again received the wrong size. It is now February (nearly March) and this still hasn’t been resolved. Communication has been very poor — I’ve had to chase customer support repeatedly and haven’t received any clear updates.

I also requested a credit note but am now being told the item will be refunded instead, which feels like my requests are being ignored. It’s been frustrating and stressful over something that should have been simple.

After checking reviews on here, it seems many people are having the same issues — wrong items being sent and poor customer service. That’s really disappointing to see.

What was meant to be a thoughtful Christmas gift has turned into months of hassle. I expected much better.

Ordered so no much from here. Quality is pretty bad. Very little trust in what I get from this company. On top of that it is beyond pricey vs. Quality. Buy on eBay or Poshmark. Just don’t expect the seams to match up or the product to hold out. It’s almost comical that they are still in biz.

Done never use again swear it’s now Chinese crap 💩
