Avoid with extreme prejudice. Ordered online a double bed to be express shipped to Metro city, the next business day, did not arrive as guaranteed and confirmed.
I did get the following texts from Forty Winks "Hi B I am booking in your Mattress delivery for 12-NOV-2025, reply by txt yes/no by 5pm TODAY if you will be home to accept item between 8am to 6pm (unless delayed). No specific times given; driver will notify 30min Prior to delivery." and even though I home the whole day, waiting.
I would not want to cop a $90 fine from Forty Winks as expressed in the following text from Forty Winks "Thank you ,your delivery is booked in, should you not be home to accept delivery, a re-delivery fee of $90 will be charged. A sighting of your Photo ID is required"
It's okay for Forty Winks to deliver it outside the specified time, but if the customer is not home when booked, we cop at $90 fine. I called Forty Winks 5 times in business hours and have still not received a call back.
Again, paid for express next day delivery didn't get it, called 4 times no return call, waited at home between 8am to 6pm as specified -
Non existent customer service, can't even say we are likely to deliver your mattress between 9-12, or 12-3 or the afternoon! But if your not home its a $90 fine.
Any $$ you save on the mattress will be lost in yours days at home, on the phone, or paying for express delivery - which is less express and more money for Forty Winks. Never again, avoid.
Extremely Disappointing Experience at Forty Winks Penrith – Beware Before You Buy.
I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Forty Winks Penrith and particularly Bronwyn, who claims to be the store manager, has been so unpleasant that I feel obligated to warn other customers. I purchased a king-size mattress worth over $2,000, which I fully paid for upfront. The order was scheduled for delivery on a Sunday. I was genuinely looking forward to receiving it, but the entire experience turned into a nightmare due to the rudeness, arrogance, and lack of professionalism displayed by Bronwyn. On the delivery day, no one showed up. I waited and waited, thinking perhaps the driver was delayed or had gone to the wrong address. I contacted the delivery driver, Lyle, directly to find out what happened. He was polite and told me to call the warehouse to reschedule the delivery. Fair enough — but that’s where things started to go downhill fast. I tried calling the warehouse multiple times, but no one ever picked up the phone. It’s extremely frustrating when a company provides a contact number that no one actually answers. Since I couldn’t get through, I decided to send an email to the warehouse to follow up and request that the delivery be rescheduled. Later, I received a call from Bronwyn at Forty Winks Penrith, and that’s when my frustration turned into disbelief. Instead of helping me resolve the issue, she immediately adopted a rude and argumentative tone. She kept insisting that I had to pay an additional $90 fee to reschedule the delivery. she talked over me repeatedly, refused to listen, and kept arguing nonstop. Her behaviour was unprofessional and completely unacceptable from a STORE MANAGER. To make matters worse, she even threatened to cancel my order altogether and mentioned that I might lose $600. I was shocked. I had already paid for the mattress in full, and instead of showing understanding or offering a solution, she chose to escalate the situation and make it worse. It’s appalling that someone with such poor customer service skills has been placed in charge as a store manager. I later read through other online reviews, and to no surprise, many customers have also complained about Bronwyn’s rude, dismissive, and combative behaviour. This clearly isn’t an isolated incident — it’s a pattern that the franchise owner has failed to address. I questioned how the franchise owner hired such a rude person to be a store manager. She clearly showed no empathy, and the ability to handle customers professionally, especially to an upset customer. Instead, she seems to lack basic respect for customers and has a habit of arguing over everything. It looks like they want your sales, after they complete your sales, you become their burden. Unfortunately, Forty Winks Penrith fails this test miserably. I have spent thousands of dollars furnishing my home and have dealt with many stores esp harvey Norman, but I can confidently say that this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. For a brand as large and established as Forty Winks Penrith, this store has no warmth, no professionalism, and no care for the customer experience. I strongly urge anyone considering buying from Forty Winks Penrith or Castle Hill (which share the same owner) to think twice. There are plenty of other bedding stores that actually appreciate your business and treat you with respect. I’m extremely disappointed, not only with the service but with the attitude and lack of care from the store’s management. I sincerely hope Forty Winks’ franchise owner takes these ongoing complaints seriously and reviews the conduct of their store manager to be retrained or replaced. Until that happens, I would never recommend this store to anyone.
Final Verdict:
1. Rude, argumentative store manager (Bronwyn)
2. Zeroed solution offer to an upset customer
3. Bronwyn offer Threats instead of solutions
4. Extremely poor post-sale service
Save yourself the frustration — avoid Forty Winks Penrith (and Castle Hill) at all cost!
You get 40 winks when you need 6 hours sleep
My husband and I visited Forty Winks in Hoppers Crossing at the end of August, where we purchased a king-size double bed after supposedly being checked for our requirements. I am slightly disabled, and my husband is quite tall, but he was recovering from surgery. We were given the option to adjust the mattress to suit our specific needs, including back pain, and purchased it on August 27, 2025. When it arrived on the following Monday, and we tried to sleep, it was as hard as concrete. My left side is affected by the disability. My right side was sore, and my husband had aches too, beyond those of the surgical procedures. We went back to the shop, given the option of choosing another mattress. However, of the two offered, we chose the one we already had, supposedly. There was a dispute about how long we should wait. Trying not to cause a fuss, we extended the trial period. Meanwhile, I went to the osteopath, who suggested that it was the mattress causing the sciatica and neck problems beyond my usual dilemma. There have been emails to and fro, but given that I still experience pain where I have never experienced it before, I am requesting an exchange of a mattress that supports the back without the fancy service, or I will look elsewhere for a suitable mattress and have $ 1,999.00 returned. Whilst the salesgirl was helpful, there was an air of "we only do it this way." I won't be recommending Forty Winks in a hurry. Your help to resolve this difficult situation would be appreciated Thank you, Claire Tennant (Mrs)
Forty Winks HO not supporting customers and the brand
@FortyWinks Capalaba store advised me in writing that the @Mlily bed base I was looking to purchase would specifically work with an app and the 2 remote controls. Once delivered it immediately became clear this was false. They admitted they made a mistake and said they would fix it, but after waiting 3 months for this, they refused to and would not provide reasonable compensation.
I tried to resolve this with Forty Winks Head Office and they said they have no ability to impose a remedy on a stores behalf, even if it impacts the brand and reputation of all Forty Winks franchisee stores.
Is this the sort of business and lack of customer satisfaction you want to take a chance in dealing with for your next mattress or bed base purchase? Have you had this experience with a Forty Winks store?

Horrible customer service
After 4 weeks of promising to have my bed delivered they threatened to cancel my order without my consent while the bed was on the transport companies truck. The service I have received in the Penrith store has been nothing short of atrocious. I bought the bed on 15 June, paid the deposit over the phone, was told the bed would arrive in 2 weeks, 2 weeks came and no bed, no phone call, no communication. After I followed it up Anthony the operations manager told me it would be delivered to my home on 9th July, my husband took the day off to help with delivery, the bed never arrived, no phone call from the store to say it wasn’t coming. I called them at 3pm to be told it is on the truck and would be received the following day and depending on the time the next day it could be delivered to my home, waited for the next day, no surprise, the bed never arrived. I called them to find out what was happening to be told I would need to call jackmans transport myself and they hope the bed would be in by the following week. I called on the 11th as still no bed to be told by Bronwyn that she is cancelling my order as it is still on the truck. Despite them being able to fulfill my order they thought it was too much trouble. They told me it’s not there issue that it will not be refunded on the spot, after 4 weeks and countless calls on my behalf it’s back to bed shopping. I will NEVER recommend or use this company and I would think twice if you are in the market for a bed.
Go somewhere else instead
I recently bought a mattress from Forty Winks at Osbourne Park, being told by the sales assistant that it was a best seller and was currently reduced from $2000 to $999. It felt really comfortable in the shop but when it was delivered the 'comfort layer' quickly collapsed creating significant indents where I had slept and within three weeks it was feeling pretty lumpy and uncomfortable. I went back to the shop to arrange a refund but was told that before that could happen a sales manager would need to visit my home to inspect the mattress. Two weeks later the sales manager phoned to arrange a visit and asked some surprising questions. He asked me my relationship status (which is single) and then told me the mattress was really designed for couples and then asked me my weight (Im at the heavy end of normal BMI/weight range) and told me Id bought the wrong mattress. Neither of these issues was mentioned by the sales assistant when I bought the mattress. The sales manager said he would visit to inspect the mattress anyway and when he did he claimed the mattress felt like it was meant to. He repeatedly told me it was a bottom of the range mattress and this is what he would expect of it and that really it was designed for teenagers and guest rooms. Again neither point was mentioned when Id bought it and its not at all clear how it being allegedly designed for couples fits with it being allegedly designed for teenagers and guests. Despite the claim that there was nothing wrong with the mattress, the shop offered to take it back as 'a gesture of good will' and give me $779 credit towards another mattress. I was shown two mattresses one at about $4000 and the other at just over $7000. Needless to say the more comfortable mattress was the more expensive one and as I was reluctant to pay that much I visited Harvey Normans who had a very similar mattress for just over $2000. Forty Winks weren't prepared to come close to this price so Ive written off the $999 I spent. It makes more sense to buy another mattress from Harvey Norman than from Forty Winks and I will never be buying anything from Forty Winks again.
Very disappointed with the service & Mattress
Very disappointed with the service. A long story but you need to read to the end. We waited a long time to get a new mattress. We went to the store and explained our situation and that we wanted a mattress with excellent support for the back. We did the BedMatch which is a computer system that tells you what mattress will suit you. I was told colour blue and my wife colour green. We decided on the MySide as it spit what was best for myself and my wife to have what suited us based on the colours we were given. Later we realised that the BedMatch system with the colours is designed to push you towards the MySide brand.
After we received our bed as soon as I lay on it it did not feel right. It was very soft and cushiony. After a couple of days my back was in the worst pain Ive ever experienced. In the first week I was just standing and I slightly moved and my back locked up and I could not move at all without excruciating pain. I could hardly move for a couple weeks as well as going to get treatment at the physio. I stopped sleeping on the mattress.
I rang Forty Winks and I was told I had to give the mattress 3 months to settle and for my back to get used to it. I stressed how much pain I was in and demanded to have someone check my mattress. I was told to come in to the store. We went in to the store and they told me they would let MySide know and they would contact me. It was a complete waste of time me travelling to the store just to be told they would notify MySide and I had to wait to be contacted.
After a few days I received an email from MySide. I was given a whole list of tasks and instructions including measuring the sag in the mattress and may pictures requested. I also had to take the mattress of the bed and sleep on it for 3 days. I had not slept on it since my back was injured. After doing everything as I was told I emailed all the results, forms and measurements. I was told that they would get back to me. After seeing the results a representative was suppose to contact me. I waited several weeks and heard nothing. I enquired again and was told that the representative had already been to Adelaide and I would have to wait for his next trip.
Eventually when the rep came out he immediately identified that the bed had a problem and was faulty. I asked if he would replace the mattress new but he said they would fix it. I received the fixed mattress 4 months after my original purchase. It was no different. I gave it 3 nights then could not sleep on it unless I slept in the middle of the bed. I complained again and eventually was given the option to chose a different mattress.
I went to 3 different Forty Winks stores trying and testing different mattresses. I really wanted to make sure it was the right one as I didn’t want to go through this again. We found 2 that we were confident to change to. The problem was one was $1000 less and the other was $1300 more. We were told that if we got the one that was less we would have to give up the extra $1000 and it would be lost with no part refund or credit given. We really didn’t want to spend another $1300.
The truth is we wanted to be looked after. At no point during this whole process did we feel that Forty Winks cared about us, my back or our sleep. It was just about selling a product and when we complained it was like we were the problem and we didn’t suit the mattress or we didn’t give it a chance or we are just complaining. If they exchanged the cheaper mattress with a part credit or refund we would have done it. If they gave a further discount on the more expensive mattress we would have bought it. After everything we had gone through with my back pain and physio costs. Months of not sleeping in my own bed, time, effort and energy dealing with this process and nothing but blame. The service was terrible. In the end I had enough and through Consumer Business Affairs I was entitled to a full refund due to the bed being faulty. They always made me feel like I was just changing my mind. When they conceded and agreed to give back the refund they refused to give back the delivery fee. So after all this I not only went through a lot of pain I was out of pocket due to a faulty product and a poorly built one. I would not recommend MySide.
From order to delivery was great…
From order to delivery was great customer service . Great price .
DO NOT BUY! BUYER BEWARE!
The so called 'bed match' analysis is such a scam. We were told we're 'red and green' and yet low and behold, ALL of the display mattresses on the floor at the Payneham store were red & green. The mattress is awful. I am constantly rolling into my husband who is at least a cm or two higher than me on his 'red' side. The mattress is so thick and dense that a standard Queen sized fitted sheet doesn't fit properly and it is so heavy that it takes two of us to change the bedding. I've complained to the store and the sales staff have said to 'give it time' but we're almost 5 months on this horrendous mattress and I'm now seeing a physio for neck issues whilst my husband has lower back pain. These are the worst mattresses on the market and yet we paid $3750 on discount! DO NOT BUY!!!!
Buyer Beware - Milly Plush
I recently purchased the Milly Plush mattress from Forty Winks, and my experience has been disappointing, to say the least. Initially, when I tested it in the store for a mere five minutes, it felt incredibly comfortable, which led me to believe I had found the perfect mattress. However, after just five days of sleeping on it, I can confidently say it’s the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever used.
The main issue is how deeply I sink into the mattress. It’s so soft that getting out of bed feels like a chore; I find myself struggling to lift myself out of the massive dip created by my body. Rolling over requires waking up and pushing myself out of that dip each time, which disrupts my sleep more than I anticipated.
To make matters worse, the store has offered zero compensation or support for my situation. I had high hopes for this mattress, especially considering the price point, but it has turned out to be a significant waste of money. Unfortunately, the store offered no guidance on potential issues like this, and I was never informed that I might experience such discomfort after purchase.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Milly Plush mattress or Forty Winks to anyone. My experience has been frustrating, and I regret my decision to buy from them. Save your money and look elsewhere for a quality mattress that won’t leave you feeling trapped in your own bed.
Great service from local Company
I placed my order over the phone and was assisted by an extremely knowledgeable and friendly young man named James, this was the Robins store.he went out of his way to help me. I have just taken delivery of my new mattress, once again prompt helpful well mannered staff from Bundall store l would highly recommend this Company for great service and prices. Of course the proof of the pudding will be in tonight's sleep, wish me luck.

While the staff here are friendly and helpful, the suppliers 40 winks use have been completely useless. the furniture was delivered broken, and I am now waiting 70 days after purchase for a replacement. Do not purchase from 40 winks, go to a more reputable supplier.
Disgraceful customer service at Robina Forty Winks
Zero stars sums up the Robina Forty Winks.
Nicole is an absolute disgrace and should not be in customer service. She went so far as to reprimand my daughters for laying on the Tempur adjustable bed, commenting “You need to get off, this is not a toy it’s an 18 Grand bed!”
I then responded asking “How are we meant to purchase a bed if we are not allowed to lay on it?she then said “Like an 8 year old is going to purchase a 18 Grand bed.” While walking off. I just want to ask you Nicole… how do you know my budget? We entered your store with the potential to spend $15k on two beds today. Nicole, not only did you cause a scene you clearly don’t know your customer.

I purchased a mattress from forty winks nunawading

It should win awards for the worst mattress company in Australia
They take your money and after that could not care less overpriced rubbish
I wish i looked at the reviews before…

Bought a King Koil Chiro Energy Plush mattress at the Oxley store in 2022. 12months later, it is sagging so bad that it is uncomfortable. Contacted the customer care and they offered to fix the sagging in the middle. About a week after pick up, i get an email stating how they have corrected the issue. The mattress is brought back today in the same condition it was picked up! I am disappointed beyond words. What else can i do?
King Coil Chiro Response Mattress
My wife and I purchased a King Coil Chiro Response (Medium) Mattress from Forty Winks Robina as our old mattress was due for replacement.
We originally purchased a Posture Plus Plush mattress which was returned due to it starting to sag, Fair enough. During the process of that we were made to feel as if it was our fault?.
We were then advised we need to use the BedMATCH system again due to the first time being inaccurate, Either user error or it just being BS - My opinion.
One of the next mattresses recommended using the BedMATCH system was a King Coil Chiro Response Mattress. Over the first few weeks the mattress felt a little firm as expected for a brand new mattress but never really got any better.
As time went on it started to feel even less comfortable, I noticed it was starting to sag on one side and you could start to feel the springs through the topper. The mattress has been rotated as specified by the store but that made zero difference. Its no wonder it has been Discontinued, From what i am reading in various review forums the feedback has been overwhelmingly negative.
We are now having to go through this entire process again, We could have just kept the original mattress and had the same sleep experience and saved 3 thousand dollars.
Not a great deal.
Utterly disappointed
My son ordered a bed last November 2022. The website says in stock but was told later that it was not and had to be ordered. My son was told the bed will arrive end of Jan 2023. It is now 31 Jan with no bed in sight. No communication whatsoever from the company. My son followed up and he was told to wait another fortnight or so! The ad was misleading, they take the money and no regard for their customers. We will never have anything to do with this company.
Bad delivery and service
Ordered a beautiful bed base and mattress from Forty Winks Osborn Park but very bad delivery experience. Firstly when they delivered the mattress and loan base I had to pay extra for delivery which I was not aware and thought it had all been sorted. Then it took 3 weeks for my actual bed base to be delivered and even then was only delivered after multiple calls to inquire about delivery. When the bed base was finally delivered I had specifically requested for the base to be assembled but it came in pieces. When I asked the delivers about assembly they said they wouldn’t do it because it hadn’t been booked. I contacted the store expressing that I needed it assembled and highlighted the point that I requested assembly when I was in the store making the order. The sales person said it hadn’t been added to order and would be an extra $100 to do it. when I asked to add it she said they didn’t have enough staff to do it and it wouldn’t be possible to do so. Very disappointing because I then ended up out of pocket hiring another assembler to do it because forty winks Osborn park washed their hands of the job once delivered. Even worse considering I had just spent over $3000 for a bed. Highly recommend going elsewhere for better value and service.
