A caring cat charity filled with helpful volunteers
Feline Friends are an amazing cat charity that truly care about giving cats their best life! Their adoption application was thorough but straightforward. After applying, they got back to us within a couple of days to further understand our environment and the kittens that would be best suited for us. The volunteer assigned to us, Wing, was very friendly and helpful! She provided us with lots of resources and information on how to best look after the kittens and prepare before getting them. Would highly recommend adopting with them.
Wonderful Adoption Experience
We had such a wonderful experience adopting 2 lovely cats through Feline Friends. From the very beginning, the whole process was handled with so much care, kindness and professionalism.
The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the adoption process. They clearly care deeply about the cats and took the time to make sure they were going to a loving and suitable home.
The service was excellent from start to finish, and we always felt that the wellbeing of the cats was the priority. We would happily recommend Feline Friends to anyone considering adopting a cat.
Great experience
Everyone we spoke to was lovely, professional, very efficient and took the wellbeing of the cats in their care really seriously. Adopting a cat is a daunting process for first time owners but they made it much easier. Thank you!!
10/10 experience
I had a really lovely experience adopting my cat from Feline Friends. Ching was my liason and she really helped me through the whole process, answered all my questions, and made sure I had all the information I needed. The process was efficient and everyone was trying to make sure that the cats were matched with homes that would be suitable for them. They've made a difference to so many cats lives!!
Fostering and adoption
I’ve had an excellent experience with Feline Friends, both through fostering and adoption. My cats were a perfect match for me, and I couldn’t be happier.
Barbara, the CEO, and her team genuinely care deeply about the welfare of every cat that comes through their doors. Of course, I had to earn their trust before they would entrust me with cats whose histories were sometimes unknown, but this was completely understandable and very much appreciated. Their care and diligence made the experience all the more rewarding.
I’m incredibly grateful to Feline Friends for everything they do for the cats in their care. ❤️🐾
A dysfunctional organisation
The diversity of the reviews here speaks volumes: the first half seem genuinely angry and hurt, whilst the more recent ones glow eerily, almost as if they'd been requested by the organisation as emergency reputational damage limitation... (Clue: they were, I was asked twice to leave a review.) I had the unusual experience of adopting two kittens whilst simultaneously observing (thanks to a shared contact) the adoption process of their two siblings. The difference in how the two adoptions were handled was alarming. Whilst I (who live in a quiet hill road in the provinces, have 18 years of cat-parenting experience, work from home, have a fully fenced garden and am surrounded by other suburban gardens) was asked from the get-go to replace all my fencing and entirely "cat-proof" my garden, Alcatraz-style (at a cost of thousands, obviously), the other adopters (who live in traffic-heavy Zone 2 London) were waved through. Was this demand for full fence-replacement and wholesale cat-proofing (later retracted, then reinstated, and the initial retraction denied) intended to put me off? It certainly felt like that. But if so, why? If space allowed, I'd elaborate on the bewildering behaviour of the person initially in charge of my case, but my main point is: clear bias appears to run rampant at Feline Friends. Strict rules would be absolutely fine, if they were clear, transparent, and consistently applied. But there's literally no attempt at an objective appraisal of the actual pros and cons of a prospective adopter, and the sense I got was of a strangely corrupted system. Thanks to the wonderful Ching (to whom I was eventually transferred because I made it clear this all felt deeply weird, and who is the reason this isn't a one-star review) I eventually adopted my two beautiful cats, and the genuinely horrible feelings the whole situation had created fell quickly away. But my advice for Feline Friends, if they want to avoid real problems and formal complaints in the future would be: standardise your criteria (it's not difficult!), take some interest in the reality of the prospective adopter rather than indulging in your projections, and check the temptation to get drunk on power: that's really not feline friendship, by any stretch of the imagination.
Feline Friends London have been…
Feline Friends London have been brilliant and so helpful in finding us our lovely boy Claude. Wing (rehoming) has been so helpful and supportive throughout the whole process and Isabel (Claude’s fosterer) has also been very helpful. I would definitely recommend Feline Friends London to anyone who is looking to adopt a cat.
My perfect feline friend
I was introduced to Feline Friends 7+ years ago when I was cat sitting for a neighbour and she told me how she fostered cats for feline friends and then Boo (her foster cat) came along and she fell in love so adopted him.
Even though I had cats and pets all my life when I moved into my one bed, 1st floor flat and worked full time I did think it was fair to get a pet.
I went through a mental health crisis and was when made redundant and decided to look into fostering.
Feline friend is completely volunteer run and I was in contact with both Camille and Ellie about both options of fostering and adoption.
I did my home visit online with Ellie and she explained all the necessary measures I would have to put in place like window locks and netting for my balcony before fostering or adoption.
She also asked if I had seen any cats on the website that could be a possible adoption match which there was two.
Unfortunately, both cats had already had adoption visits and were reserved but as Ellie had got to know me and my circumstances she knew of a cat who was about to be added to the website and asked the fosterer to send me photos and information.
Oreo was an older indoor cat who was affectionate but also independent. A visit was arranged and we fell in love with her, the couple fostering Oreo told us about her likes, dislikes and quirks and said to message them if we had any further questions.
Ellie also called after the visit to see how it went. Within 24 hours we had made the decision to adopt her. Oreo was still due one booster vaccination and we were given the option to delay the adoption until after the vet visit or we could take her ourselves and the cost would still be covered by Feline Friends, so we did that.
Oreo settled in very quickly and made herself at home. She has now been part of our family for 6 months and I couldn't imagine life without her, she brings us so much love and joy.
Feline friends checked in with us after the adoption to see how things were going and I can't recommend them highly enough.
Just remember adopting any animal is a big responsibility so make sure you are ready but when you are please consider Feline Friends.
They have been amazing!!!
They have been great! From responding to my enquiry online, to facilitating the adoption process I had such a positive experience throughout! Ching was so responsive and prompt with sending over the paperwork and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a cat or a kitten!
Perfect adoption
We got our cats through London Feline Friends twice. Ellie was really helpful in finding our new member of our family.
Feline Friends have been fantastic…
Feline Friends have been fantastic through the whole process, they were quick to respond to our enquiry and arrange a home video call where they helped us to cat proof our home for an indoor cat. Ching then recommended us our dream cat and we were able to meet her at her foster house soon after. They were really flexible whilst they waited for our home to be cat proofed and made sure all the documentation was done ahead of time so when the day came we could focus on bringing our baby home. The support they give to both adopters and fosterers is incredible, you can tell they really care about placing the cats in a forever home and want to make it stress free - the 5 weeks free insurance and offer for free cat food are super above and beyond! Would highly recommend using feline friends to adopt or foster cats.
We have had such a great experience…
We have had such a great experience with Feline Friends, who are a small dedicated team. They have been extremely thorough with the adoption process, but also really kind and supportive throughout. We couldn’t have the initial kitten we enquired about, as she had already found a home, but Ching assured us that she would be able to find us a perfect match and she did❤️Thank you so much to Ching and Anna(Choux’s fosterer) for being so amazing and ensuring that she has found her forever home.
Bree & Wing
I have been wanting to adopt a cat for sometime since my Minnie passed. I came across Feline Friends online and I can't speak highly enough about the service and most importantly the thought they put in to giving a cat a new home. Wing was the member of the team who went that extra mile for me, offering guidance, support and great communication. I found my little Bree and I couldn't be happier!!
Ridiculous!
Ridiculous!
It feels like they DONT want the cats to be re-homed. Their adoption criteria is unrealistic - most London homes are likely to be rejected. The adoption process is long and it put us off. What a shame. Many cats have missed out on loving owners for no reason.
Feline Friends - get a life!!
Smooth process, great experience
All my dealings were with Ching from Feline Friends, and our new cat's fosterer, who were both responsive and helpful. Great experience. Initial application form is incredibly thorough and criteria seem high, but you can type anything so it was easy to explain our particular situation and demonstrate that we would be a great home for a cat - other charities don't give you this option. Adoption process was well thought through and made easy for us. No pressure was put on us to adopt the first cat we visited, but we did anyway and we love him. We didn't even have to leave East London.
We had a great experience with Ching…
We had a great experience with Ching from Feline Friends, and would highly recommend adopting from them. We adopted two cats, Fig and Twig, from the lady who found them. She was supported by Feline Friends, and they did a great job facilitating our contact with each other and subsequent happy adoption story. They helped arrange and pay for neutering, vaccines, and other medications, and were on hand to provide any advice we needed. We live in a flat so we knew we could only adopt indoor cats, and they were happy to make this work.
I appreciate it is really hard to find charities in London with the space and possibility of taking on more animals, and if you are in the situation where you have found a stray, it must be tough not to take this out on the charities themselves. I do believe Feline Friends is a great charity, and every member of staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful.
Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing, they communicated well with me throughout the process but also found my cat a lovely experienced owner who I was very much happy with. FelineFriends was the only charity that was able to help me out of all the charity’s and organisations out there. Thank you very much.
The entire process was so easy and…
The entire process was so easy and smooth. We spotted our boy on the website and were quickly put in touch to meet him at his foster carers. The rest is history, as they say. They were also very amenable to our schedule, as we had to wait a couple of weeks before we could take him home. Ellie was especially helpful and friendly, helping us prepare our home for the new member of our family, and continued to check in as our gorgeous rescue settled in. Would very much recommend Feline Friends London for anyone looking to rescue a cat in need.
My partner and I adopted two kittens…
My partner and I adopted two kittens from Feline Friends London. They were quick to reply after our expression of interest and thorough in making sure that we were the right fit for our two - it was reassuring to know that they carefully vet potential adopters, and made us more confident that our cats were the right match for us!
The volunteers are very friendly, obviously care about cats, and they had all the appropriate health checks and advice before coming to us. I would recommend for anyone looking to adopt!
Feline Friends London - Kate
Excellent experience with Kate. Professional, responsive, compassionate. Feline Friends London guides you through the adoption process and ensures you have everything you need to adopt a kitty.
