Looking at my previous reviews I've given fastlane autocare St Helens 3 ⭐⭐⭐, that should be 1. Or even zero ⭐, it took 2 weeks for a timing chain replacement, I've now consulted the ombudsman regarding the length of time the replacement took, AND the cost, it was ridiculous, I'm now waiting the ombudsman office to reply, watch this space, ,,, Peter,,, PE63DFL,

Very pleasant desk staff.
Delays unacceptable, expensive clutch and fly wheel repair.
All in all took 11 days.
Was due originally to be collected on Thursday pm. Rang at noon to say just putting the last bit back together. Ready around 2 he said but would call.
Did call but had found another fault on the last minute. It would cost another £110. The part wouldn’t come til the next day. They’d call me back.
Picked up Friday, no dashboard working apart from warning lights on. Told they would clear while driving home.
They didn’t. Took back. They stopped the warning lights showing. We have no speedometer so can’t drive the car.
The argument from them is the dashboard issue wasn’t created by them but it was fine when it went in. Whether it was or not, we have not been allowed to speak to a “ technician “ about it, them leaving the front desk to handle it all with the end message of don’t shoot the messenger. Very very poor service.
E now have a car we can’t drive and have paid £1800. Please go somewhere else.

Contacted fastlane for a quote for some work which they came straight back with price and detailed work quoted for. Got authorization from the auction I bought the car from, the car was collected and I was updated with diagnostics and expected date for completion by Luke who was brilliant. The job was done to a very high standard which is rare with a lot of garages. Definitely recommend using this garage no nonsense just reliable honest service.

Ordered my tyres online from black circles. To be fitted at fast lane boundary road, second time they have fitted tyres for me and I received an excellent service.
It’s the only garage now I will trust fitting my tyres.
Service I received today from fastlane was first class tyre fitter was brilliant not a mark on my rims.
Staff was very polite and helpful
Had two continental premium 22” for BMW SUV hat of to the tyre fitter. Definitely would recommend them

Rude and Intimidating experience at Fastlane
I was recommended to Fastlane by the RAC. I needed a diagnostic check to investigate an engine warning light. My local garage had told me when they connected their OBD that there were no faults showing and I should find someone who could connect to the manufacturers system. Fastlane offered to do this for £200 bit expensive but I agreed. Took car in and they found that their equipment couldn't connect to ECU so no involvement of Manufacturers systems - the report confirmed this. I questioned if still had to pay £200 as they hadn't been able to do what I agreed to pay for - offered £100 which seemed more than reasonable. Staff there were rude and intimidating, if I didn't pay I wouldn't get my keys. I haven't mentioned the berating I got for turning up late on a Friday afternoon but that was their fault as well. I have asked RAC to reconsider their recommendation for this place. I won't be using them again.

Your appointment was booked for 9:00am, and in the two days leading up to your booking we sent two email reminders and two text message reminders confirming your appointment time. You arrived at approximately 10:30am, after your allocated diagnostic slot had passed. Rather than turning you away, we offered to accommodate your vehicle at the end of the day if you were happy to leave it with us until the following day, which you agreed to.
As your previous garage had been unable to diagnose the fault, we explained in advance that your vehicle would require access to manufacturer-level diagnostic software, which incurs a cost to ourselves. During our investigation we found that the vehicle had internal ECU communication faults. We attempted calibration and coding procedures, however these were unsuccessful due to the faults present. Based on our findings, we advised that further wiring tests should be carried out before recommending replacement of an ECU, as we wanted to avoid suggesting an expensive component without first ruling out other possible causes.
When discussing the findings, you advised that you did not wish to proceed due to the value of the vehicle and attempted to negotiate the agreed diagnostic charge. Unfortunately, the diagnostic process and manufacturer software access had already been carried out, resulting in costs to our business regardless of the outcome.
We are also disappointed by the comments regarding our staff. You arrived to collect your vehicle at approximately 5:40pm, after our 5:30pm closing time, while our team were locking the premises. Despite this, our staff remained behind to explain the findings and discuss the report with you. At no point was anyone intentionally rude or intimidating, and we categorically reject that suggestion. Our team remained professional throughout the process.
We always strive to provide honest and accurate diagnostics, even when the fault is complex or the outcome isn't what a customer was hoping for. We wish you all the best in getting the issue resolved.

Pointless
Needed an engine fixed quickly. After a quick google, I found Fastlane. Went to their website and you can book online, pay and schedule a day. Luckily they had availability for the next day. I just wanted to check them, so I gave them a call. They said they did not have any availability for 3 weeks and this was not for a fix, just the diagnostics & they would come back in a few weeks to do the repair ? I asked why there was availability online & I was told “that never works”. Pointless
Also, I also try another company thehappycamperstore and this is just Fastlane pretending to be someone else.

The Happy Camper Store is simply the leisure vehicle division and trading name of Fastlane Autocare Autocentres Ltd, specialising in caravans, motorhomes, campervans and other leisure vehicles. Both departments operate from neighbouring premises, and this information is clearly shown on our website and documentation.
