Don't honor their own gift cards
They've been going down hill for several years now and now they won't even accept their own gift cards. They've now lost a loyal customer from me and I ended up checking out with a $160 cart instead of $300 because they wouldn't honor a $25 gift card. Despite the fact that the card says right on it that there's no expiration date and that the card can be used on express.com, they've apparently decided effective May 1, 2024 that gift cards can only be used in-store.

Don’t buy a gift card from express, they no longer except their own store gift cards, So anyone that has received one for a gift you are unable to use for online purchases Spoke to customer service even spoke to supervisor and she admitted that what they are doing is not right and forcing people to drive to the store and make purchases. Also confirmed that they are putting stuff that doesn’t sell online in the stores, so if it’s cute don’t expect to buy it in the store . She then told me I could use another source of payment. I told her no you have my money sitting on your gift card . Poor customer service and feel they are doing shady practices.

Was unaware that Express changed their 60 day return to 30 days. Of course they have no sign in store or tell you when they give you your receipt that things have changed. I went in one month and four days to exchange some thing that had an odd fit. I believe it's actually was a manufactures defective shirt. Manager at store was useless. When I said I don't want the shirt she literally took it from me and put it behind the counter like they were to keep it and put it back in the inventory without giving me any store credit or anything. I looked at her like what exactly are you doing? I took my shirt I called of customer service, who are even more useless than Her. I will not shop here at all. They suck out loud.GTFOH
I not what it used to be
I don’t know what happened to this store. Quality used to be on point. The portofino shirts I used to buy that were stellar quality are now thin, wrinkled junk. Customer service is useless - they always have wrong info, send you on a wild goose chase and cannot seem to understand basic requests for returns, send incorrect labels and packing slips and then tell you they never received even though I have an email stating it was received. They close all their stores and then charge a return shipping fee. This store is not worth it anymore. Plenty of other clothing options to choose from.

God forbid you make a mistake on your order. I needed to changed the shipping address after I ordered my clothes and they wouldn’t let me change the address and the order hadn’t even been processed. All because I called 40 minutes after and not under 30 minutes after I made the order. What kind of rule is that?
So not only could I not get my clothes, I didn’t get a refund either and I’m out $80. They said take it up with the delivery service, even though THEY wouldn’t let me change my address.
I’ve shopped here for the last 15 years and I’m absolutely done.

Don’t buy gifts early from express
My Wife shops early for Christmas, she bought me shoes that weren’t my style, we went to express to return them but we are passed the 60 day mark and they told us we can’t return or even get a store credit . I planned on getting something else. Even after being a loyal costumer for more than 7 years, and being an A list customer who spends a good amount money there. We then called costumer service they told us to basically just screw off. So now I have shoes I will never wear . Therefore we will be canceling our card, don’t waste your time shopping here.

I've been a long time Express customer, but over time online ordering and customer service has declined. I am currently stationed overseas, and ordering via an APO address, which they do allow, is more than often an issue. The majority of my orders are stuck in processing for weeks, only to finally be cancelled. If I've used express cash, which I earned, I have to call into customer service in order to have that refunded to me.

Bought jewelry for worth $160 for winter presents and the earrings have broken, 1 broke after 2 time wearing and one broke while opening the gift bag, so fragile and poor quality and expensive $$. Will stay with my gold/silver jeweler than statement fashion jewelry.

I will never order from Express again. I bought 4 items and wanted to return 3 of them; however, the company's shoddy International returns policy makes me feel like, just because I'm in Canada, I'm an afterthought. No shipping labels offered for the return...just drop it off at Landmark Global and they'll know what to do with it. Really? They'll know just off the top of their heads it has to be delivered to Express in the U.S. somewhere? Have had bad experiences with U.S. online retailers and their International returns policy in the past and have had enough. Won't order from Express or any other U.S. online retailer again unless it's Amazon. Can't go wrong with Amazon and their return policy.
And oh by the way, Express, read your reviews. They're absolutely horrible. But you probably don't care. And neither do I care anymore about doing business with you.

Used to shop Express for quite some time. Had a substantial amount of credit on their card. In 2019, part of it was reduced. Yesterday they lowered it more. Their clothes lately are overpriced cheap junk. Will no longer be a customer of theirs and returning last item today. They deserve to go out of business for treating a former customer like garbage. Express is now on offering items from the marketplace such as designer glasses from Jimmy Choo. I purchased a pair of glasses and I received a pair that looked nothing like the picture. I learned I could not return them. When I called Express they first gave me a bogus number. Then I talked to a supervisor and he gave me an email and phone number. I received an email back from the Jimmy Choo associate in China saying they could not process returns and Express had to. I then called Express again. The express supervisor said there was nothng that can be done. So I’m stuck with ugly glasses that cost a lot! Express is going to go out of business if this company keeps doing this type of bad business with outside vendors. Nowhere on the site were these terms spelled out when I made my purchase nor was it stated I could not return the item.

Beware of international processing fees on "free shipping" orders
If you're from Canada, beware! My first purchase went without a hitch in August. I just attempted a second order and it turns out they are now charging a new 82$ USD international processing fee on my "free shipping" order. If I hadn't paid attention I would have missed it! It's scammy and way too costly.

Was a bit big but, I took the dress back was told that I couldn't return it or exchange it. Even after i purchased it on their website. So when i got home i immediately went to work on it, I fixed it. Meanwhile they did say I could but that's not true😡

False advertising to the max -- saddened. I went to place the first order I've ever did online with them because they sent a coupon for $75 off of $200+ in purchase. When you go to use it, they say 'oh, we are having an online sale so we turned off all coupons--but we will give you 10% off lol. I wanted a few career things for work, and I rarely shop for myself, so it was sad to see this kind of false advertising with a brand many look at favorably. I will not be ordering the $230 worth of merchandise because of this.
