Evans Halshaw - Citroen Darlington Anmeldelser 

My wife is severly disabled so cannot be left on her own for any great length of time and we have a motability car.
We live in a rural area but our previous motability garage still offerred collect and return service despite being outside the usual catchment area to accomodate this.
When we were looking to replace the car we asked Evans Halshaw if they would too, and were given a verbal impression that they would.
When I booked the car in for its service they refused to collect. When I stated I would need a loan car instead, they claimed they do not have any loan cars and the best they could do was a 2 hour wait service!
I went back to Motability, who contacted Evans Halshaw and who advised them they were waiting on some new cars which conveniently had just arrived so I could have a loan car after all.
The day before the service I received a call to say my car had not come back yet so I would not be able to have a loan car and would have to revert back to the 2 hours wait service.
I refused and they then rebooked the service.
When I attended the service, my car was not ready, it had apparently arrived back late the night before and had not been made ready. Some 30-45 minutes later I finally got the loan car so I could make the 45minute to 1 hour journey back to my bed ridden wife.
I do not know if this was just a really "bad day", typical of their general poor customer service, or, how it felt to me, a systemic attitude towards Motability Customers.
I will never have a Motability car from Evans Halshaw again

Thomas Bailey from Evans Halshaw Darlington helped us with our purchase of our Ford Focus & part exchange of our old vehicle. He talked me through the full range of products and all the t/c of the sale. Thomas had only been working at the dealership since April , but it seemed he had been there for much longer as his friendly manor and knowledge were excellent. In my view Thomas will have a good future and maybe be Management material at some time in his career.

Had a fantastic experience at the Darlington branch of Evans halshaw 30-6-2022.
The young lady (Joanne) that looked after me could not have been more helpful and attentive.
Joanne really went the extra yard making sure I was comfortable in everything concerning my purchase of a new car.
The sale probably took longer than it should’ve because i take my time with everything concerning parting with my cash but she assured me and talked me through everything concerning the sale.
Lessons could be learned from anyone in car sale from Joanne.

I’m really dissatisfied with the service I got, I bought a car from Darlington branch, it only gives you a 3 month warranty and I’m on a budget so couldn’t afford to get the extended warranty.
Low and behold as soon as the warranty is out I start having problems, when I picked it up the service book wasn’t stamped so I went back and they stamped it, took the car to a garage who informed me the head gasket is on its way out, I called to ask Evans&Halshaws if they could help in any way but just kept getting the same answer “ your out of warranty” surely it would have been picked up when it was serviced! I need my car for work I’m a support worker looking after people with learning disabilities and it’s a half hours drive. I’ll now have to go into debt to fix this very expensive problem.
Needless to say I will never use you again and most certainly won’t recommend you to anyone. The least you could have done is fix it at a discounted price as it should not have happened so soon after buying it.

Everything. Complete overhaul of branch personnel and training. Quite happy to take your money for car sales but not happy with after sales service.

I was told that receipt etc. would be emailed, but nothing as yet.

We had several recent visits to Evans Halshaw Darlington both for servicing and advice about changing our car. It was an excellent experience all round. We'd especially like to thank Gary Dunn who dealt with our enquiries about finding a car with a boot easily accessible for a mobility scooter. Gary introduced us to a car we hadn't thought of, the Mini Countryman. We took up a lot of his time with our questions, measuring the boot etc., and he was immensely patient and understanding. He arranged a test drive and researched various options for us, answered all our questions professionally and generally has given us a much better understanding of what we need and what is feasible. We will definitely return to Evans Halshaw and hope to deal with Gary again.

Excellent customer service, would highly recommend and will have no hesitation in returning to have my car serviced in future.

Dealt with my issue and gave some very useful assistance on linking my phone to the car.

Booked my car in for it's first MOT with the Citroën dealership at Darlington. BIG MISTAKE.
The passenger side seat is missing a bolt for some reason and has been reported to garage I bought the car from and they are going to fit the missing bolt in next month but said it shouldn't fail MOT as seat is still secure its just slightly loose on front left side. They then sent me an email saying my car had failed as it was dangerous - which it isn't and said their engineer had checked it out and a weld had failed on car seat and they would need to get an estimate for a new one. LIES AND FRAUD! I rang up to complain but they were holding my car to ransom sticking to their phony story even after I provided photographic evidence of the missing bolt. In the end they agreed to drop my car off at my place of work and then their representative said he was going to KNOCK ME THE F*** OUT after refusing to give me MY key. Reporting to police in morning. Absolutely disgusting company

I bought a car from Evans holshaw in Darlington The engine management light came on a week ago i contacted them and was told nothing can be done until April it went in Monday to get checked I was told that they would contact nissan garage for me but no response I would give this car dealership a wide birth

Bought a car from these, after having it a week, noticed that there was a crease in the wing area, after more inspection the shut line was clearly out. Immediately phoned them to inform them that I will be returning the car within the 14 day cooling off period. Promised a call back the same day, never happened, phoned again on the Sunday, promised a call back on the Monday, never happened. After ringing them, I was told that he would need to speak to a manager, which never materialised. I told them that I would be bringing the car back, no excuses.The car should have passed their "inspection" process, but clearly didn't. Terrible customer service, terrible salespersons, terrible company, STAY CLEAR.

Very simple start to finish, no messing about trying to get extra out of you which is what you see in so many garages now

The company can improve by having more available mechanics and parts available. My van went in 9 weeks ago with a broken thermostat, its not an old van and has been well looked after and l still havent received it back. The service l have received is diabolical and l would never use this garage again or recommend it.

Great Service very professional

First class service from Lawrence Seaman reception to the mechanic and the vehicle cleaning staff, problems identified during the m.o.t were made me aware and rectified after I gave authorisation, that's why I go back every year for my Citroen C3 service and m.o.t

CSA Lawrence was very professional and pleasant to deal with. Kindly waited a few mins after close time for me to arrive and collect my car.

The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful, especially Steph the service manager who looked after us so well.
