Went this today for a meal with my wife. Ordered 2 mains and a bottle of red. After a long wait for the wine and a jug of water they came about 25 minutes later after prompting a waitress! The mains came after an hour after ordering, the food to be fair was good. This is the second visit we have been and the service is not up to scratch. The management is not managing.

Very disappointing meal, ordered the lamb, advertised as lamb rump served pink. What came was some broiled fatty pieces of lamb very far from pink. The roasted courgette was actually a very raw piece of courgette that was inedible. The waitress was not very useful when I complained, suggesting I was the problem not their awful food.

Would have got a better meal for far less money at Weatherspoons, I will not be going back. Avoid !!

Why bother to review, they never comment on what people have to say so they don’t care whether it’s a positive or a negative do they? So do not waste your time.
Oh, and their daily emails really get on your nerves. So, I’ve unsubscribed and also taken my business to a place that really wants to know what their customers think. This company doesn’t.

Book afternoon Tea to take away from Haslington Cheshire as elderly mum could not make it.

What a disappointment.
4 fingers of sandwiches for 2 people that tasted absolutely disgusting ( thrown in the bin).
The other savoury items missing so they gave us chips free to compensate.
Cake that was so dry.

£29.50 for that is day light robbery.

Recently visited Ego restaurant in Sefton Liverpool, to be served by manager Ross, all I can say is wow he looked after us so well and our experience here was fantastic. Thankyou Ross

Reserved a table and requested the disability door to be open at Ego Hartshead Inn Ashton
On arrival, the Door was still locked and we was left standing in the cold 10 mins.
The main courses and desert took a while to come.
Generally the food was excellent apart from one dish (being served with a chicken leg and not breast.) The sweets were lovely, well presented. The place was nice and comfortable an warm. Apart from one young lady who had served us before here the staff seemed to struggle. Definite room for improvement and i will try again as it has some good positives.

We were very disappointed with our visit to Ego's Stockton Heath and also at the Shrewsbury restaurant recently. We both felt that the quality of the food had gone down hill over the last year and the costs are expensive for poor quality food and the size of the portions.
I ordered the lamb rump, which was tough as old boots and the meat was not of good quality and had to send it back and choose another meal. It looks like they are cutting costs on the quality/quantity of the food for maximum profit. Wont be returning.

Tried the Cheshire Oaks restaurant at Stanney Oaks. Not good at all except for very nice staff. The food was very poor, a Greek Salad with no green salad leaves, far too excessive onion and a dressing that was just some oil or something. My chicken with risotto rice wss tasty but just enough for a starter or a child’s portion.

Charlotte was out waitress and she was very attentive and quick to take drinks and food orders.
It was really busy but we didn’t feel rushed. My husband and I both had a Sunday dinner and it didn’t disappoint. The portion size is big! The roasties are fluffy and crispy.
The price may seem quite dear but the food is worth it and the desserts are delicious.

A lovely meal experience with my family

We ate the olives to start, amazing hanging peri peri kebabs and lots of sides. It was really enjoyable with great service by the staff.

We visited the Cheshire Oaks branch few weeks ago, it was great so we decided to go again today 17th Sept. Food took 50mins to hit the table. I had roast dinner luke warm, roasties were not roasties at all, lamb was not tender. Worst roast dinner I've had tbh. I had garlic mushrooms starter two other guests had just a main. £87 !!....not worth it at all won't be going back. Word to the wise .....tell people how long their likely to wait.

visited Ego Penarth. When ego first opened i thought they were good, however lately the service has become pretty poor and slow. Also they seem to have stopped Sunday lunch which is a shame as that was one of their better meals
It has become nothing special

The wait was a little long, but we were there on Saturday evening so it was to be expected. The food was well worth the wait, everything was hot and fresh and our waitress was lovely and attentive.

Decided to go to Ego Restaurant in Sheffield today (21/6/23) between 14.00/1430 this place was nearly empty. We were instructed to go to the podium where you request a table by a not so nice waiting person.Someone eventually came over to inform us that they were not taking in “walk ins” because they were short staffed to which I did comment “well yes you look packed out” .I did phone the restaurant regarding this and spoke to a guy called Caine to which his response was “We were short staffed but all ok now” So short staffed / not short staffed in a matter of maybe 30 mins or so 🤔 bad management by this restaurant. I will look forward to any reply from this restaurant.Now 26/6/23 I would have expected and welcomed some kind of response but nothing at all so bad 😟

Went to Ego in Bromsgrove last night as we’ve always wanted to try it. Very disappointed! The place is fancy, the menu is fancy…. The food is not. Very very basic and tasteless. I had a Moroccan lamb dish with cous-cous and it was so bland I was sitting there for ages trying to finish it as I felt like I was wasting money if I didn’t. I tried a bit of my partners too and her linguine was just as bad. Went after work at 8pm-ish and the staff started cleaning up around us as it was pretty empty (not really that surprised) and just felt like we were being waited on to leave.
100% wouldn’t go back.

We would like to thank our waiter Matty today for his professionalism and good customer service skill, he made the effort to ensure our dietary needs were met.

Six months ago I would have given Ego Penarth 5 stars! It was excellent! I have been 3 times recently and each time it is going down hill and the meals are getting worse. The Sunday lunches now are poor, soggy potatoes cold plates with less and meat each time .I had the sgrag end of pork, small hard round pieces 3pieces ..come on! ..I didn't complain as we were there to celebrate a birthday but so disappointed. Pull your sock up as others will walk away as I have.

Seated in a small area with a table of 8 who were very loud and my husband and I ( and another two guests on another table had to move but only seats in the bar were available. Bartender they’re very helpful. We wait he 1 hour to be served and the starters were barely warm. My meal of pork was very tender but again luke warm and the ham was missing. I hadn’t realised at the time as the menus had been taken away and we were extremely hungry at this point.
A disappointing experience for my 70th birthday. I woul not recommend this place.

We booked an afternoon Tea for four of us to celebrate a 70th birthday.
What a terrible disappointment! The sandwiches, if you can call them that, were tiny, we got 2 each, the cheese ones were dreadful and inedible. As for the scones and cakes, they certainly weren't homemade which is what we were expecting, they looked exactly like you'd buy from a supermarket. We asked to speak to the Manager and explained how dreadful it was and she offered us to have the main menu instead and didn't charge us for the afternoon tea. However when we asked for items off the main menu we were told there were no fish dishes and no pies. Shortly after the waitress came back to the table and said the fish was now delivered so was back on the menu.
Overall a very disappointing experience and one we'll definitely not want to repeat.
