Bought a Double Edged Safety razor a few years ago and was recommended this brand by a family member.
Was quite happy to shop with a brand based in Sheffield and to finally buy something that was actually British!
I ended up buying the Edwin Jagger 3D Laser Diamond DE Safety Razor. The razor itself is well constructed, has a nice weight to it and is beautiful to look at. The shaving experience itself is wonderful once you've had a few shaves and selected the right soap/brush combo.

However it has one fundamental design flaw. The razor is manufactured from a cast alloy. This is not an issue for the shaft of the razor as it is substantial. The problem arises from the top plate,. The threaded fastener that connects the top plate to the shaft, is also cast, and so is extremely fragile. Drop it onto a tiled floor and that's it. Broken. Expect to shell out £7.50 for a new top plate every time this happens.

Edwin Jagger kindly sent me a replacement free of charge the first time I broke mine, after simply having the razor in a shaving bag , squashed into a suitcase. When I arrived at my destination I found that the top plate had sheared off. Now, Ive dropped it and once again, its broken! Yes, I could buy another top plate, but it could literally break again next week if I was to drop it. The only way forward is a full stainless steel razor.
Apart from the £80+ Stainless Razors, all of the rest of their DE razors are made this way. They need to change the top plate design, after all, a razor is supposed to be used in a bathroom with hard surfaces everywhere!

Oh, and their product reviews, LOL. Wonder why they are all 5 stars? They moderate them. Displaying only the positive ones.
Shame. They had the potential to be a top brand.

Great customer care. The head on my 5-year-old Fusion razor had become loose, so I asked if they could do anything to tighten it up. They asked me to send it in and they'd have a look - ended up replacing the head with a brand new one, free of charge, all done and back with me in less than a week.

Bought a safety razor hoping it would be the last one I’d ever buy and a few months in I dropped it in the shower and the head snapped off. Bit surprised considering it’s made of metal and should be a bit more robust than that.

I asked for a replacement but they insisted I send it back for them to fix. So I sent it back and they fixed it but now of course the razor has a weak spot.

I inevitably dropped it again, and it snapped in half again. They now won’t replace it or even fix it but sent me links to buy a new one! 🙄

I appreciate I dropped the razor so it is technically my fault, BUT presumably they know people are going to be using these razors in the bath or shower and so will have wet hands and the inevitable will happen. Just expected them to be more robust considering they claim to have ‘manufacturing excellence’.

Such a shame they don’t have better customer service. I won’t bother buying another from them and will look elsewhere. I also will actively discourage friends and family from buying there.

Great quality products. Bought a razor and some razors, couldn't be more impressed with the quality of their products.

I bought a shaving brush off Amazon 10 months ago. The bristles are soft and just right, similar to a far more expensive Taylor brush.

After 10 months, it started to shed a lot of bristles each day. I contacted Edwin Jagger by email, and got a response after a day or so. Sent them some pictures as requested, and they sent a pre paid returns label straight back. A new brush came about a week later.

So in my experience the products are very good, and the service is excellent if there are any issues.

Shocking service, I would avoid this company like the plague. Order should have been delivered well before Christmas and it's still no where to be seen. It takes weeks for them to reply to your emails. Will have to notify card company and get a refund that way.

First class company. Dropped my Edwin Jagger razor and damaged the bottom plate on razor head, part not sold separately contacted Edwin Jagger to enquire about purchasing bottom plate as a separate item Edwin Jagger sent out replacement FOC fantastic customer service.

It's fantastic feeling with the truest razor that made from the steel. Never will return to the Gillette or stuff like that.

Having decided to give up on electric and multi blade cartridges for my shave. I was looking for a British company to make my purchase of a DE razor. After studying many vblog reviews I went with Edwin Jagger :-)

VERY impressed with the Sheffield made product quality.
VERY Impressed with the back up service after finding an issue, which was my fault - very embarrassing for me, but we had fun over that one :-) so I can tell you their comms are brilliant and so is Charlotte at the EJ shaving company.

If your shaver is not shaving ? - its because the BASE plate needs to be reversed - shipped the wrong way for safety purposes I think ?
The photos of the shavers show which way the comb area should be pointing.

The Razor purchased is an EJ DE 3D black handled job with superb feel and great grip to it.
Never had a slip yet, and its 'head' has a very satisfying weight that is just right for the steel poles protruding out of my face :-)

I am currently still in the trial stage to find the right blade for this razor and my steel like whiskers.

The Razor came with a free pack of 5 'Feather' blades.
I can confirm that they are the sharpest I have come across and I did get a nik or 2 from them early on.
At this point in time, Gillette green 7 o'clock work better for me - gives a slightly better post shave feel? (on my face, maybe not yours though).

Using the feather blade, I've enjoyed 6 shave sessions now and they are great with only 2 niks on the 1st shave, but beginning to sense they will be finished soon.
That's amazing considering most users say 4 or 5 shaves and their finished.

Despite 7 / 8 different blades under trial along with pre shave & post shave lotions being used and then not used, I can state that on my face using this Edwin Jagger razor, I am only finding slight irritation on occasions (without lotions !).

This seems to be more to do with the 'aggressiveness' of the blade & no doubt some poor shaving angles or not sufficient lathering up on the odd occasion.

EJ supply a sample pre shave lotion to try and it really works well, leaving a cool sensation after you have completed the shave.

I am VERY happy with this Razor, its so smooth in use.
These have been consistently the best shaves I've ever had with only very rare occasions where I nicked myself !

Maybe i'm just lucky to have chosen the right tool for the job here, but with craftsmanship like this, i'm pleased.

Charlotte from Edwin Jagger, also gave me confidence regarding their brushes, which I noted in some reviews as not so good?

I'll be purchasing one of their super brushes shortly and look forward to giving it a review too.

Edwin Jagger have been very easy to deal with. I have bought a number of items from them online. The orders were completed promptly and arrived well packaged. The postage costs were very reasonable and I live in Australia.
All items have arrived in perfect condition and were of the highest quality.
The free samples of EJ products was a nice touch.

I have purchased an expensive brush (120£) that seems to be very good so far. I am satisfied and happy for my investment. But the Europe delivery service (Royal Mail) was slow with a practically impossible tracking system. I think there is room for improvement.

Got a double blade razor and associated products but on seven shaving attempts to date can't get anything like a close shave. Can't see what I'm doing wrong - have tried applying the blades at every angle under the sun but the edge of the blades still refuses to engage with the stubble.
