I grew up on Derwent pencils from a young age growing up in Northumberland , you would use nothing else . Love art unfortunately life takes over and art fell away , so now retired so good to be able to get new upto date Derwent pencils that now come in many different formats , absolutely living my new Inktence pencils and blocks and new watercolour ones to . The best available and Ty Derwent .

These pencils are brilliant and made a great present for my grandson’s birthday

On the 7th January I emailed Derwent. I had bought a 24 tin of Coloursoft and two of the pencils had broken leads. They kept breaking when sharpened. I received an email back from Georgia Hogg at Derwent Customer Service informing me they were willing to provide a replacement for these two pencils.

Since then I have heard nothing. I emailed Georgia with my details, which two pencils were damaged, along with photos.

On 20th January I emailed again to ask if they had sent out the pencils as I hadn’t received anything, I got an automatic reply to say the email had been received. I have heard nothing.

On 28th January I again emailed to ask them what was happening. This time I did not receive an automatic reply. I have heard nothing.

I am writing this review in the hope someone at Derwent sees this and answers my email, I am very disappointed with the customer service. All the reviews I have read are good, people say they are a very good company, so why this has happened I do not know. Hopefully I will get a reply on here.

UPDATE In answer to Derwent reply. I have checked my spam folder, as I do every day, there are no emails from you. I have replied in your Contact Form on your web page asking you what further information you require. I await to hear from you.

Following my review. I have now been in contact with Georgia again, who was able to explain the problem and why it has taken so long for this to be resolved. I explained how lack of communication had caused frustration and confusion. I understand, at the moment, it is only Georgia who is working on customer service, maybe this is something Derwent needs to look into at busy times. I think we both learned from what had happened. After speaking to Georgia I received my replacement pencils this morning 4th February!!! They were sent out on 3rd February, which is excellent considering I live in France! I have now updated my review to 4 stars as Derewent did sort the problem out in the end. Thank you Georgia for your kind words and for sorting this out for me.
