We have had a very poor experience with Dee & Griffin solicitors and will not be using them again.
Our property conveyancing completed in May 2024 and the admin is still not complete in July 2025.
We were chased for payments that had been made many months before.
My previous review was edited due to a threat of legal action so the detail above is accurate and factual, rather than emotionally driven.
I would not recommend Dee & Griffin Solicitors

Took money but due to Mortgage issues the sale fell through, said they would return the money minus the water survey fee.......many months later now ignoring me. I would suggest anyone avoid this company like the plague

Leah, Molly and the whole team at the Quedgeley branch were so helpful to my wife and I getting the sale of our house and the bungalow we bought before end of March 2025, so that we did not occur the new Stamp Duty Increase that started today ( 1st April 2025 ).

We instructed this company for the sale of our flat as they acted for the seller just 15 months earlier, from start to finish we never had dealings with a solicitor We were passed on to the juniors who do all the work. The replies to our emails were rude and not what i expected from a professional solicitor. It took 15 weeks to get to completion and this is because of my suggestions to compromises that were made by us.
I wish I would have read more if the reviews before instructing them.
I asked for the matter to be looked at after completion and this was done by a solicitor who defended the staff and saw nothing wrong with how they dealt with the case. No surprises there!

AVOID! We instructed Dee & Griffin upon recommendation from The Property Centre. In hindsight I wish I had done my own research into their online reviews, many of which echo our negative experience. Jo B is obstructive, rude and unprofessional. Her team are incompetent. The client care is non existent. I went to the lengths of making a complaint to Andrew Dee who has offered a resolve but not followed through on the promise. Horrible experience, some of the worst customer service we have ever received.

I got to experience Professionalism at its highest level. Joanna Boucher's team(Sara, Nicola and Vicky) handled my house purchase. I got updates and legal advice concerning the purchase from the day I instructed them until the last day. Can do this again with them.

After working with Kelly Dean from the Cheltenham branch it was a pleasure from start to finish. Kelly’s meticulous attention to detail throughout the whole process was second to none and I had felt my case was handled with the upmost care and precision. She was very approachable and contactable throughout the process along with the help of Samantha Ward. There were a few delicate issues that needed attention throughout my process with both going above and beyond the necessary work that was required to keep myself informed and to highlight any potential issues they seemed it was necessary for me to know and ones I wasn’t aware of. Both were a formidable duo and if you’re looking for legal representation I would highly recommend and be using again in the future.

Unhappy with fees

It was recommended by the estate agent to use Dee and Griffin in selling my house. Unfortunately, Julian kept ignoring the request from the buyer’s solicitor to do the deed of variation and caused long delay in the house completion. I had tried to ring to chase 2 times, staff promised to ring me back but never did. So frustrated!!!! Due to the long delay, the final legal fee was shockingly high!

Recently sold a property and the team at the Quedgeley office were superb throughout, from the initial enquiry to completion.
Friendly, professional and efficient, would highly recommend, thanks!

Used the Cheltenham office for a house sale. Communication excellent throughout and speed of exchange and completion well within timescales. In a stressful situation like buying or selling a house Dee and Griffin go the extra mile to make it stress free.

Your house sale with take 3 years not 3 months.

Uncommunicative, take forever to respond and process documentation, always something else you need, never been with a worse solicitor.

Poor communication, really slow, rude on email and never addressed us by name, emails were usually 3 word answers. They do everything by post and seem to be in the dark ages, they don't even use Zoom. I regret using them and they made a very stressful situation a lot worse. Their customer service is non-existent. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Long, uncommunicative and clearly only saw me as a bank account. My sale fell through but having found somewhere else to buy, I went with a different solicitors who were honourable, approachable, supportive, open to all my questions. Not patronising or belittling like Dee and Griffin. Avoid.

Appalling service, dreadful attitude, no consideration of customer needs cost me 2 weeks wasted time.

Avoid at all costs

I used this lot to conveyance the purchase of a house which needed to have a piece of land registered by the seller. They told me they would withhold some money from themuntil this was done.
But they didn't do it, and I had to pay another solicitor to purchase an indemnity policy so I could re-sell the property. Dee & Griffin tried to weazel out of by implying it wasn't their responsibility because it was the fault of an ex-employee & by saying I didnt need to buy an indemnity policy anyway. WELL I DO IF THE NEW BUYERS' SOLICITORS INSISTS ON IT AS A CONDITION OF PURCHASE!!
When a succession of people are telling you that you're not providing an acceptable service, (thats me being polite). Then you need to consider the possibility that they may be right and that you have issues that should be addressed.

NB: Dee and Griffin has seen our review in advance and been given an opportunity to comment/apologise but did not reply. We had a very stressful experience with this company, whose policies knowingly prevent the other party from conducting a transaction without themselves using a solicitor, even for small / simple transactions. This cynical and unnecessary approach cost us over £1,000 and delayed their client’s transaction by two months. Moreover, we found the solicitor we dealt with rude and we were astonished to find that she put her client’s sale in jeopardy by falsely telling the estate agent that we were not in a position to proceed, when we had in fact spent hours trying to meet the practice’s excessive requirements. We have reported the company to the SRA as these policies are not in the public interest. The absence of civility, both in the initial dealings and in response to our complaints, has been so disappointing.

Professional and expedited the sale and purchase of my properties in super quick time. Highly recommended

Always answered very quickly. Thorough and professional with our house move. Would use again.
