When Debt Busters took over my profile 2 years ago, the start date and the debit amount was not done correctly however after 3 months this was resolved and my journey began. My last payment was supposed to be at the end of March 2026 and that was far from the truth. As per Debt Busters their statements that they send to customers are incorrect, and should not be followed. I have called multiple times since March 2026 to get a recon and a final amount to be paid so I can get my clearance certificate but to date after speaking to 19 consultants ( including Team Leaders ) nobody can confirm the final amount that needs to be paid. I even went as far as emailing my entire payment journey to the CEO desk, NCR and Ombudsman as well as the consultants looking into my case and i cannot get any satisfaction.
I spoke to 2 consultants yesterday and both could not give me an amount that needed to be paid in order for me to settle my account. I was told to go directly to the service provider and receive a statement and pay them directly.
Now i am being held at ransom of never coming out of debt counselling.
Debt Busters were the biggest mistake i have ever made, i am taking my case to social media so maybe would get answers to get my profile off debt counselling.
Please do not use debt busters, worst company ever!!!!!

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against DebtBusters and to request urgent assistance in resolving an ongoing dispute relating to my debt review account.

I commenced my debt review process with DebtBusters in October 2022 and continued making consistent monthly payments until September 2025. Throughout this period, I have honored all agreed payment obligations without fail.

In 2025, I contacted DebtBusters to obtain an update on my outstanding balances. The figures provided to me did not correspond with the balances reflected on my Hyphen statements. Upon raising this discrepancy, I was informed that a consultant within DebtBusters had failed to update my account accurately. I was assured that the matter would be corrected and that any overpaid amounts would be reimbursed.

In mid-September 2025, I followed up again and was advised that my account had been updated and that any overpayments would be refunded. Subsequently, in mid-October 2025, I received a reimbursement from Hyphen, which I was informed had been authorized by DebtBusters.

My Hyphen statements now reflect a balance of R0.00 across all accounts. However, DebtBusters’ records continue to indicate that I have outstanding balances with creditors, which appears to be a direct result of their failure to properly maintain and update my account.

Following this, I requested a clearance certificate from DebtBusters and was initially informed that the process was underway. However, after a period of no communication, I followed up again and was informed that I am required to settle “outstanding balances” before a clearance certificate can be issued. I have clearly communicated that I will not make any further payments, as I have already settled all my obligations in full.

More recently, I have been advised that my account allegedly reflects an underpayment due to a disputed debit order. I wish to place on record that I have never disputed any debit orders during the course of my debt review.

Despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter directly with DebtBusters, my name remains uncleared. This situation is now significantly impacting my ability to make important financial decisions, including applying for housing finance or vehicle finance.

I respectfully request your urgent intervention to:
- Investigate the administration of my account by DebtBusters
- Verify the accuracy of my payment history and account balances
- Facilitate the correction of any errors on their system
- Ensure that my clearance certificate is issued without further delay

I have acted in good faith throughout this process and have fulfilled all my financial obligations. It is deeply concerning that administrative failures on the part of DebtBusters continue to prejudice me.

I would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter and providing clarity on the status of my account.

Do not respond with a "sorry to hear about your experience" because you are not sorry at all. Also, do not provide me with an email address because it's clear your people do not respond on emails.

Dropped me at the last minute when it counted.

I used debt busters and they helped me sort out my financial situation. but as soon as I had cleared all my debt they went quiet and it has been over 8 months and I am still considered under debt review on all the credit bureaus. They do not reply yo my mails and when i do get a random reply they seem to have issues and systems are down.

I think you can get a better service elsewhere that wont take their interest and then leave you once your payments stop.

Car got Repossessed while under dept review which unheard off.

Don't even deserve a star car got repossessed after they suspended my services after I told them I'm unemployed try going with a company called zero dept they actually tried to help me but unfortunately I can switch to then because I'm Registered under dept busters

Debt busters do not get back to my query I have been on debt review from November 2025 and I received a phone call today the 5 June 2026 from MFC to say my account is in arrears and has only been paid for 3months so from November 2025 to June 2026 MFC has o ly been paid 3 times and put of those 3 payments only 1 has been paid in full the other 2 were short paid now when I'm trying to connect debt busters no one returns my calls or emails that is very poor customer service seriously

I have been trying to speak with a manager for 3 weeks now regarding a complaint. DebtBusters is incredibly quick to call and email when signing you up, but once you have entered into an agreement with them, they will not respond to emails or calls. The way in which my case has been handled has been shocking, and cost me an additional R600. While Debt Consolidation is an amazing tool for taking back control of your finances, I strongly recommend that any potential customers use a different agency as DebtBusters does not have any customer service and you will never be assisted with genuine complaints.
