Currys - Telford Anmeldelser 

Ok, so that's the third visit to Currys now which has left me wondering if they really can be as incompetent as they seem.

First time I wanted a new TV. An 'expert' asked what I was looking for and I explained that I had an old LED backlit TV and was considering upgrading to OLED or something similar. Trouble was the price was a bit high and I said I'd wait for them to come down in the Black Friday sale. He laughed and said they wouldn't come down in price (they did), and ushered me towards the cheaper TVs and then literally tried selling me an LED backlit TV worse than the one I had. He insisted it was a great TV. Maybe he was deaf, or desperate for the sale, who knows?

Then I needed a new washing machine. Bought it, agreed on the installation cost, then the guys turned up in their van, took one look and realised it would take more than 5 minutes to install, then left, explaining I would need to go back to the store and arrange alternate installation - "it won't cost much more". So back I went and spent the next hour talking to a woman in the shop who absolutely insisted I was in the wrong place, but had no idea what I should do. She finally made a phone call, then came back and said "yes, I can sort that out". But this is Currys, so the kicker was that it was going to cost a LOT more than the original installation cost. So I said I'd changed my mind and they could refund me and collect the washing machine (left in the middle of the kitchen). They came and collected but refused to put the old machine back in (they'd disconnected it). So, I had to do that myself.

And yesterday I was passing the same store and went in for a look. Silly me, I know. They had a smart watch priced up at what seemed like a good price. I went home, did some research, and decided I'd buy one. Back to the store today - in a storm - and a member of staff comes up offering to help. "How would I get this watch?", I asked. "Ok, you point out the watch you want and I get it from the cabinet below". So I take a look at a mostly empty cabinet with just a couple of fitbit watches in (I didn't want a fitbit). "Hmm, that's a lot of empty space!", "Yeah", she said, "and now that I check it's a different model and the price is wrong. We don't have any of the watches you want." Turns out it was the newer model on display. "Ok, you'll honour the price though?" "No." Proceeds to remove the price label and apologise.

Great! That's 3 for 3 with Currys. It's the same every time with them. Best avoided unless you want to be mis-sold and/or disappointed. Yes, I'm annoyed. Mostly for letting myself think they'd actually be able to do something as basic as selling a watch.

I ordered and paid for a microwave oven click and collect had a message 2 hours later so went up to collect the assisant told me it was out of stock and l would be refunded later - 3 hours later l went to Argos all good so far to purchse a replacement. Afew days later l had a message to collect the microwave from Currys? I did google reasearch and it said if you dont pick it up within so many days you are automatically refunded. I had 2 messages to leave feedback. As advised by google l contacted currys escelation team who told me l had picked it up [ A PACK OF LIES ]
My card holder bank told me to go to currys and talk to the manager and he did get it sorted out 45 minuites later. TIP if something is cancelled get a cancellation form instigated before leaving the store. It was the same assistant who served me initially no wonder she did not want me to see the manager

We had a fridge delivered today, the email from Currys says before we leave if you are not happy with anything let us know, I told the delivery drivers I wasn't happy and they wouldn't take the fridge back as they put the order though, I didn't agree to this, I was told by a staff member from the store if you aren't happy then the drivers will take the item back. They didn't and now it's taking me half a day to try to return an item I don't want as it didn't match the descirption on their website. Customer service is very poor when actually speaking to a human, I will never spend my money in currys again. Poor customer service, poor return policy.

David that helped us with it purchase was brilliant, he was informative but not pushy and really made us feel like we made the right decision when choosing our oven, there was a great offer on installation and our delivery was offered within a week

Kyle was the ultimate professional who dealt with our purchase calmly and efficiently. He was quickly able to uphold our price match query over the Lenovo All in One Computer we were buying. He made the whole experience a pleasure and we were in and out of the store with our purchase in 20 minutes.

Very easy transaction, good selection and the site is very easy to navigate, the delivery is fast and efficent.

Easy to compare products on the website, easy to order and arrange delivery. Next day delivery. Although delivery is by DPD who did just leave my package outside the door without notifying me in any way. This is a DPD issue not Curry’s but be aware that this is the delivery service they use.
