Bought this fence paint from B&M store, was very happy with a colour (dusted aloe). But it definitely needs lots of coats (3-4 is a must) which is very tiring job for 18 fences. Painted 4 fences so far and after 2 days was raining all night. Now paint started running off. So disappointing that I feel like crying. It means that will definitely will not stay for 5 years. Now I need to clean off all the messed up paint from my fences because it looks horrible now, and again lots of extra job.
Unfortunately I didn’t read reviews for this paint, if I would I wouldn’t be in this situation.
I would definitely wouldn’t recommend this Cuprinol fence paint!

Painted a new fence 3 coats 2 days ago got up today to the rain and panels are all running ,the paints coming off in my hands ,silver copse ducksback,what a waste off 2 tubs

Brought 6 5 litre tubs of cuprinol ducksback dusted aloe,painted the fences on all dry and sunny days,4 coats on each panel to cover the grey,looked nice at first,now raining and it's gone yellow and streaky and in some parts back to grey,it was alot of hardwork painting 20 fence panels for the rain to wash it away,nothing like the consistency it used to be now its more like water,I'd avoid at all costs

Don’t know if they will bother replying given their 78% shocking 1 * reviews. I get there are subtle batch differences in colour, but really, light and dark brown are not the same !!

I'm so so disappointed that I didn't check the reviews before hand. This cuprinol one coat sprayable is astonishingly awful. Two coats won't even begin to give an even coverage. I don't think I ever used such a thin appalling wood. stain/paint ever. I have used 1 5lt tin moved onto the second and now cancelled the order for the other two. I wish you could see the photos of this atrocious product. Avoid at all costs

I bought Cuprinol Duckers shed paint to re- coat a shed which was about 3 yrs old. I decided to fill a lot of nail recesses with external decorators chaulk, after painting the shed 3 times the paint keeps coming off the places that are chaulked. Some days later the rain came & washed off all the paint on the chaulked areas, the shed now looks a mess, you can get the paint off these areas easily as the paint has not cured. I’m going out now to buy something that sticks to chaulk.

Cuprinol cedar coloured decking stain; We followed the instructions, '2-6 hour dry time', ours dried for over 24 hours, 'above 5c Celsius' (as it also wanted in the instructions), we did the staining at 8c celsius, with lots of breeze. It's now rained, and there is pooling of some of the stain in the grooves of the decking. This is only 1 coating, so the wood should of easily absorbed the staining. The decking is also brand new (well dusted), so no dirt or dust that hindered the absorption.

I think the dry time and temperature instructions were a stretch, basically a lie, or the product is of very poor quality.

I spent around £100 on this paint, well over what I would normally spend but it had come highly recommended, and the prospect of not having to repaint my panels for 5years was extremely appealing.
I painted over old and new panels ,using silver copes and forest oak the results at the time was amazing.
This was Aug 2023, it's now Nov 2023 and I can honestly say at the top of my panels it is now none existence, this as also accured in other parts of the panels, deverstated is not the word, all my hard work wasted.
I painted in different weather temperatures and different times of the day.
I've emailed the company ,total waste of time ,excuses after excuses, never in all my years of painting fences as this happened.
They offered me one tub of paint in the garden shades, they said the paint I had used was the wrong type. (Shed + fence paint ? ) .
After reading other reviews the garden shades are just as bad.
I declined there offer ,informing then I needed to get some advice.
I honestly thought they had had a faulty batch.

Could anyone tell me if they actually got any compensation for their paint or just got brushed of
like me, I was offered one free tub of paint, which I thought pointless after my experience.

Very disappointed with Cuprinol Daisy White Garden paint. Paint is very watery despite mixing in the tin. Coverage is appalling. Even with two coats you can clearly see the bare wood grain underneath. When rubbed with a finger after 24hrs drying a white powder comes off on your fingers. At approx £25 for 2.5Litres it should be much better than this. Do not buy this rubbish you are throwing your money away. Bye the way how can I get rid of the 3/4 of a tin of unused rubbish? Can I pour it down the drains? Can I send it back to Cuprinol in a plastic bag. I would not give this paint away as it is unfit for purpose. They should be sued!

Bought Cuprinol Ducksback in Silver Copse for my rough-sawn back garden fence last year. I used two coats on each panel and, at the time, was happy with the result. Now the coverage is patchy and non-existent on the top of the fences.

I thought spending more on a quality brand would make ecomical sense in the long run. Yet, remedying this will taken even more time and expense.

I deliberately chose Cuprinol Garden Shades Daisy white. I wanted white fence. Plus it said must not sand the fence. I painted parts at different days. Warmer days it was very very thick paint, but was easier to paint, fence had not seen rain for weeks prior nor after, then also painted parts on cooler days, paint was thinner watery dripping and hardly painting the fence, it rained 7 days prior painting and 2 days after painting. There were 2 months apart between painting sessions of warmer dryer and cooler wetter periods. Did two coats, 2nd one 1hr after first as instructed on the tin. And now 4 weeks after finishing latest painted part and 3 months since the first one, it is turning yellow more and more regardless when it was painted. Can not figure out why! I mixed paint in each tin, I followed instructions. Only thing is I bought is at B&Q at discounted price. Was I conned and paint was known to be old or not properly stored!!?? Or is it fault at Cuprinol end!!??? I am devastated. My back has been hurting like mad. Everyone around me who can see that fence in my garden is probably laughing! To now repaint it, Ill be in more s**t cs about 30mx165cm garden fence surafce, featerh at a time, Id need to sand first!!! It will 100% damage my back, then it will dictate choice of paints and price to repaint cs of sanding that in the Cuprinol tin said was not to be done, hence chose that product! My £100 gone to pot. Plus, the info on how many m2 the tin covers is BS. Absolutely devastated. I have no one to do work like this for me, my back is bad, and to pay someone...well glad I did not as it would have been waste of time and money! If I could sue someone Id do it in a flash. I needed it white cs of my S.A.D. eyes disorder to have bright fence. Living in the ground floor property seeing grey fence every day was seriously depressing, specially in the winter. Now am more affected cs of disaster I have on hand to resolve this issue.

Disgusting how they can turn a great product into a load of sh!t. Brought it a Few times in last year. It’s clearly not what it used to be. Got a tin from 2 years ago and it’s great. Now it’s all just water. A big plc just scamming us again. Shame on them as will not be buying any products from akzonobel again. If we all stop buying from them, then maybe they will stop scamming us!

Used Cuprinol shade pale Jasmin to paint my arbor. Very watery no substance. Applied 3 coats, not easy for a pensioner with a bad back. After 3 weeks it’s washing off & old colour ( sand) coming through. Very disappointed after so much effort.

Cuprinol garden shades is the biggest scam ... Absolutely rubbish... For last 3 years every year I've painted our fence and in maximum 8 months is just washing off ... never 6 years protection How they get away with this I can't understand

We have used Cuprinol decking oil, some years ago, as well as recently. - Put loads & brush it in well. We did this & left it rather wet, to soak in, as we only got chance at it once. Have to say it did very well again. We used more than twice the guided amount, again, yet our decking woods were very dried out & in dire need. (I would, eventually, rather choose a nice large stone aggregate with huge, no need to cement, paving stones, though the decking was already with the property upon purchase).

Spent £100 on ducks back,absolute rubbish.It just disappears in places.
My panels had been properly prepared by a professional painter of 35 years,2 coats in really hot weather in June.
Contacted them,the excuses 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣The wood in places had been weathered to the point where it won’t adhere(panels are only 6 yrs old)
🤣Any wood cracks, splits or gaps that have not been filled, can allow moisture ingress that undermines paint adhesion.
🤣Insufficient or non-existent use of a fungicidal wash to clean the surface may have allowed mold or green growth particles to form beneath the coating
We have been painting panels for nearly 30 years,never had a problem.
So DONT waste your time emailing,these are the generic excuses you will get.

Used Cuprinol shades Forget-Me-Not for my shed
Decided to change the colour from Seagrass. Put the first coat on and the old surface seems to be repelling the new paint and gives it a dappled appearance. Any suggestions since a light sanding to provide a key doesn't appear to work.

Opened a new tin of cuprinol garden shades in silver birch today to revamp my garden bench. To say its pathetic is a understatement. It is like painting with coloured water, the consistency of the stain is extremely thin, watery & dripping.. bought two tins of the stuff.. very, very disappointed..

Purchased Dusky Aloe. The example on the tin is a grey colour, however, the actual paint is mint green. Very deceiving. Very disappointed and will be returning the unopened ones
