I had a great experience with Cottman on my first visit. Tony, the owner and a technician potentially saved me several hundred dollars with his professional opinion and recommendation. However, after the recommended repairs were made I still continued to experience another issue. I called back to talk with Tony but the gentleman who works the desk would not allow me to talk to him. He said I’d have to drive there and come in to see Tony. We all have busy lives and having the opportunity to talk about my issue in a brief conversation is vital. This is my wife's car and she drives it every day. Arranging a day to switch cars and drive 20 minutes to his shop to ask a simple question is not acceptable. If I hadn’t ever been there and wanted to just “chat” with a tech I could understand but that wasn’t the case. I think the customer service person needs to re-think his policy.

I actually dealt with the owners of this location. I have a work van that had a severe transmission issue. I was stunned when I was told a remanufactured transmission was in stock and could be installed the next day. It was ready around noon. Needless to say, if I don't have a vehicle, I don't work. So the quick turn around time was greatly appreciated.

Great experience with the service team, They made a bad problem with my car better than I could have ever believed possible. I got timely updates and found them easy to work with throughout the entire repair process. You can trust what they are telling you. The total cost was 1/3 less than the dealers price.

My Honda was a loss because of a blown transmission but when I took my car there they were completely transparent with costs associated with my car, if I wanted to replace the transmission, and they even let me store the car overnight until a tow trunk could come to take it to a junk yard. I highly recommend Cottmans to anybody. Very friendly and knowledgeable even though I asked a thousand questions, and I even corresponded with them over email/phone calls a few times and got prompt replies back (can’t say that for other shops I’ve gone to). If/when I have transmission issues in my next car I’m coming back!

A performance transmission was built for my restored Mopar car. Work was done properly and a return visit for follow-up fine tuning was done promptly and precisely. Thanks Dan and all the folks at Cottsman for a job well done.

Life has Taught me to add something for the risk of going the cheapest route. Sometimes it's better to pay a little more than your planning than less than you should.

With that in mind, the second challenge is to find people that even care. Rarely do you find a store, of any kind, that you can still meet the real owners. I believe that can be important in today's business field.

Because of that, I contacted Tony & Liz's business about a transmission problem with my vehicle. I was given strait forward advice including options I had not considered. ( We NEED good salespeople these days.) I took their advice and spent extra.
I am extremely happy with my decision. They and all their staff took excellent care of me. And I also appreciate the value of a warranty that can extend beyond their location, should I ever need it.

Life tells you that you get what you pay for. That is incorrect. YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET.

My first time with Cottman set up appointment for 9 am car was not even diagnosed until 2 pm and could not find problem only to experience problem again the next day I feel that an appointment should atleast guarantee a more timely diagnoses so the whole day does not slip away waiting for an answer however staff is very polite and knowledgeable

Cost too much and took too long! Otherwise, people were very pleasant and professional. Dan tried to keep me happy. Work done was fine, however, car was left dirty.

Was very efficient in finding the problems with my vehicle.

I had the rear differential repaired on my suburban, the work was completed in a timely manner and the problem I was having was resolved.

Started with a thorough examination of my transmission. I had concern here because with a transmission it could be almost anything from a $3.99 can of fluid to a $2000 rebuild. After they took a look it turned out to be one of the cooling lines leaking due to corrosion. Took a day to order the part and another day to schedule once it came in but it was done when they told me for the prices they estimated. No surprises and the work was correct and complete. For me that's all I ever ask for from auto repair. Say what you're going to do, tell me the price, do it right and on time and I am happy. That's what I got. I highly recommend Cottman of Columbia!

There should not be a mark up on outside work done. That is charging markup on outside labor. Padding bill for work not done in house.

The truck is running great and now the 4-wheel drive also works.

I have been dealing with Cottman for over 8 year's and their service is A+. I have a 1997 Corvette that Cottmans installed a new transmission and ever since then Cottmans has continued to provide me with the best service at a affordable price. They are always upfront about the issue with your vehicle and if money is a issue they inform you of which services are needed immediately and what services you can prolong for a little more time. They also offer payment plans to help with expensive repairs. Dan and all the staff at Cottmans go over everyall detail with you prior to any work being done so there never any surprises. I will continue to take my vehicle to Cottman because I am confident that they will fix my vehicle, guarantee their work and provide me with the lowest price available for quality parts and labor, no matter the cost of the job. Dan and his wife Liz are wonderful and will do their best to assist you. I would recommend that if you are searching for a service provider for your vehicle that is trustworthy , does great work at a affordable and fair price, Cottmans is the place. Don't let the name Cottmans Transmission fool you... they do everything and they do it well!
