Cotswold Energy Group have recently finished installing an Air Source Heating System for us. The team were very efficient and helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. It was always brilliant to be able to telephone and immediately speak to someone who endeavoured to sort any queries out. The whole team from the start were patient, professional, knowledgeable and courteous even despite the complications of the pandemic. We are pleased with their services and are happy to recommend them.

As I can’t seem to reply to the response from Cotswold energy I feel it’s only right to make people aware of the actual truth and facts!

Cotswold energy were awarded the contract to provide a full working heating system to both our basement apartment and our main house.

We have had a catalogue of issues , which to date they do not want to take responsibility for.

So much so the person who replied to our previous review has not even visited the property and customer services is their priority?

The pipes that leaked were NOT fitted and pressure tested 18 months ago.
The radiator pipe work was fitted 13 months ago and not fully completed until the radiators where fitted and pressurised 6 months ago.
We reported a loss of pressure and nothing was investigated.

We have a newly fitted ceiling, plastered and decorated and the leak from the pipe had started when the radiators were fitted 5 months prior.
Therefore the leak was 4 months into the works and NOT 18 months.
Importantly, at no time where we advised of any warranty constraints or terms and conditions ,something they have now added to their website.
This large install has yet to be completed and commissioned so any implied warranty has yet to start!.

The plant room pumps are constantly running and using excess gas and electricity. ( VERIFIED BY ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL PLUMBER )

Plumbing of pipes with ceilings open for 5 months for them to have sufficient time to do correctly. However we now have running hot water from our cold taps

Shower trays not level, toilets not fitted correctly.

It took a whole day to fit a Quooker tap which should only take two hours max. Quooker had to come out and rectify the tap to get it working correctly.

Engineer sent during lockdown with a sore throat and temperature, not tested for COVID, complete disregard to other trades safety let alone our own .
No continuity of staff, we must of had eight different plumbers on the job.

The list goes on.
Cotswold energy are persistent in defending themselves, as a customer we couldn’t be more disappointed.

I’m sure they may provide good heat pumps, but they are not good installers of traditntal heating systems and are certainly not experienced bathroom fitters.

Sadly for us we have now learnt from local residents that they have had similar experiences

In our experience Cotswold Energy have been excellent to work with. The specification and ordering process was straight forward. The installation team arrived on the scheduled date, were considerate and flexible whilst on site. The system took a little tweaking to get right but is now working well and we are very pleased. All queries have been dealt with promptly and the overall experience has been good.

Great service, and would reccomend to anyone wanting to use their services. They were efficient at getting back to us, communicated brilliantly throughout the whole project, and worked well with the other trades to ensure our house was set up with fully functioning ground source heat pump and UFH throughout.

Very please to have replaced my oil boiler with the Mitsubishi heatpump. Robin was great. Because of Covid lockdowns throughout 2020, our vulnerability, heatpump availability and Cotswold Energy's time limited deposit guarantee, my £2500 deposit went back and forth numerous times, but throughout Cotswold Energy were very trustworthy.
Installation took 4 days, fewer than the week estimated, including several new radiators. The guys were professional and even painted the wall exposed when the oil boiler came out and was replaced the same day by the new cylinder. Simon is very knowledgable and in detail explained the operation of the system during it's commissioning and has done a few zoom calls since to help optimise the heatpump's performance. Drop a star as they are not the easiest or quickest to get in contact with.

We live in a large, 200 to 300 year old, Grade ll listed stone house near Stroud. We have a 30 year old mains gas boiler and our carbon footprint is bigger than I like. I asked Cotswold Energy Group to look at what we could do using an air source heat pump. Robin and Tom came to see the house. They looked at every room, checked all dimensions, including windows, and noted all the radiators. Tom sent me a thorough proposal for an Air Source Heat Pump to meet the majority of our heating need with a gas boiler to provide a back up at peak times. It was a clear and comprehensive proposal which would very significantly reduce our carbon footprint. They included a table to show the Return on Investment. We feel real confidence in what they have offered but other work we need to do on the house means we cannot afford to take it up at the moment. As a first step we may decide to scrap the old boiler for a more efficient modern one. We will certainly ask Cotswold Energy Group to quote for that, and I hope we will be able to look again with CEG at an Air Source Heat Pump system in a few years time.

Cotswold Energy Group were one a handful of companies I contacted to quote for a replacement of my old Worcester highflow boiler. Aaron arranged to come out the same evening (Tuesday), and provided a competitive quote as well as a 10 guarantee from Worcester Bosch, due to them being approved, registered installers. Aaron offered us usage of portable oil filled radiators while we waited, and claimed that if the new boiler was in stock with suppliers, then it could be installed on the Friday of the same week. We were contacted on the Wednesday to ask if they could install the boiler a day early. Absolutely!! Dave worked tirelessly on the Thursday to ensure that we would have heating and hot water that night. He left at 19:00. Aaron and Dave returned the following day to finish off. We are delighted with our new boiler. The work completed by Cotswold Energy Group has been faultless. Thank you!

We love our new air source heat pump system and Cotswold Energy were incredibly helpful, genuine and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. No regrets here!! We replaced old night storage heaters with radiators powered by the air source heat pump, and it has transformed the house - what was a damp and slightly cold house is now beautifully warm and snug. My battle with the mould by the windows is officially over. The system has been in for nearly a year now and cost wise it is costing us slightly less to be a lot warmer! Oh and fun fact we discovered in the summer - the fan blows amazing clouds of bubbles! Just hold the bubble wand in front of it and you’re away...

We've just had an ageing oil boiler replaced by a new ground source heat pump. The whole process was handled very professionally from start to end. Hot water is great, although, of course, I won't be able to comment on the heating efficiency until the winter.

I really felt like the team take pride in what they do, this ran through everything, from planning right through to the final clean up, and as a result, we now have a high quality installation.

We’ve just had a ground source heat pump installed to replace a broken oil system. The team have made a very nice job of fixing up the existing heating system and electrics and integrating the new kit into our very old house. The Covid situation caused some unavoidable problems but the company responded well to these. The team were all very professional and we felt entirely comfortable having them working in the house. They left things pretty tidy at the end of the work. The hot water is working fine. Difficult to comment on the heating until we’ve been through a winter!

We wanted to be more eco and explore our options when replacing an ancient boiler and central heating system. Jon, Robin and Aaron at CEG were knowledgeable, helpful and realistic. They advised us to go for an Air Source Heat Pump solution. Fast forward a few months; the system is installed and we are happy. It's super-efficient, runs in the background and…well, just works.

However, at the time of writing (2020) there are a few things to consider when switching to an eco solution. And, I feel this applies to any supplier you go with. Anything ‘new’ or a 'bit different' will always have niggles and teething issues. It's the nature of the beast. And, every installation is – in some ways – unique. We had a few things that needed tweaking / moving / adapting. CEG were helpful, patient, polite and together, we got there. That’s important. Go into this in the spirit of partnership and you'll be fine. Eco isn't fired and forget… yet. It’s new, and in some ways, we are all learning. If you want easy and cheap. Look elsewhere. (Probably why the industry is so slow to adapt!) We talked any issues through with CEG and they sorted them. Would a new gas boiler have been easier and cheaper? Yes. A lot. But, that isn’t for much longer…

In terms of tech. The Mitsubishi EcoDan product has been around for a long time, it’s tried and tested and works well. However, in the U.K. this is still very new in terms of concept. When people see our EcoDan they think we have had air conditioning installed! A few times, I felt we were at the cutting edge and slightly suffering for it. But, now everything works well, and the energy consumption is amazing. The house is completely gas-free and fuel bills, much lower. (1980’s 4 bed detached property in Moreton-in-Marsh.)

In summary, when you are choosing a supplier for ‘alternative’ tech, it’s important they are responsive, fair and good to deal with. Notice I didn’t focus on cost. Not because it doesn’t matter (it does) but CEG were always in the right ballpark there. No, the reason I prioritised service is because your new system will be a partnership. Traditional plumbers who only deal with standard (soon to be outdated) gas installations, might be reluctant to mess with your new system. This will change of course, and hopefully quite quickly, but for now, it means we have limited options for maintenance. All of that said though, I feel we are in safe hands with CEG and – with the ‘new tech’ caveats detailed above – would recommend them highly.

We were impressed with Cotswold from the beginning, very knowledgeable and informative.
The guys that came to fit the new hot air source worked very well, seemed more than competent.
We've had a few niggles since the system was fitted, but these have been dealt with very professionally and are now resolved.
We love our new heating system, which is saving us financially. Its great to be LPG free!

We have just occupied our new extension which provides a wheelchair accessible ground floor bedroom and wet room for my disabled wife. Cotswold energy were subcontracted by our builders to fit out the wet room and install underfloor heating for the whole extension. Also significant modifications to the heating and plumbing were required for the existing house. We are very pleased with the final result and were impressed how quickly they responded to minor problems when they occurred. They were very conscious of the specific needs of my disabled wife while they were working on the project.

We recently used Cotswold Energy Group to replace our boiler with an Air Source Heat Pump. The experience was great throughout, everything happened quickly and efficiently. They did some really detailed heat modelling of our house in their software and explained how the new system would work. We’re really happy with the result, cost savings are in line with what was promised, the heating and hot water work systems perfectly and we can control it from an app which we weren’t able to do before. 5 stars, highly recommended.

I chose Cotswold Energy Group because when I phoned they seemed extremely knowledgeable and experienced at heat pump design and installation, they were relaxed compared to other companies that quoted and didn’t push me for a deposit. I’d done my research. I dealt with Zoe and then Robin for the design phase, I thought it would be complicated but they explained everything in detail when they came out and did the calculations. The installation was straightforward and happened quickly, the engineers were polite and reliable throughout. Now the heat pump is installed and working well I wouldn’t go back, it’s much cheaper to run than an oil boiler plus we get the added benefit of subsidy payments which covers the initial cost of installation. All in all, 5 stars. It was a bit of a leap of faith to move away from a boiler but it all works perfectly and CEG did a great job.

When starting on this project I did a fair amount of research and spoke to a number of people. The first thing that stood out for me was that Robin was extremely knowledgeable and head and shoulders above the rest in terms of his ability to understand what I wanted and to supply the right system accordingly. The quality of the offering varies enormously in the renewable energy sector but Robin inspired confidence from day one . That impression was then confirmed by the other members of the team. They have the ability to deploy a team of specialists who can get the project across the line. Their heating engineer, Gavin, is absolutely first class and a real perfectionist. Aaron oversees the whole project very well and in terms of electrical expertise, Mark has done an excellent job. There are no weak links in the chain at all.
We had a number of variables to factor in including incorporating solar PV and solar thermal into the system which have all been accommodated. In addition we were working with an existing heating and hot water system which was far from ideal and Gavin reworked the whole system and took a very commercial and sensible approach to that.
I am very happy with the CTC products and the support provided. The house is now very warm and we have an abundance of hot water which is not how it has always been. The heatpump was fired up a month ago and we have had no problems at all – not even any airlock or pressure issues which one might expect.
Basically, Cotswold Energy were a bit of a punt from my perspective as I did not know any of them and they are a new outfit. I have to say it could not have gone better. They are very straightforward to deal with and deliver what has been agreed on budget. Moreover they are a pleasure to deal with and I would trust them completely. We were very happy to leave them to get on with things knowing they would do the job properly and avoid cutting corners. I would certainly use this team in the future as they are extremely professional providing a high quality service.
