We had a failing 25 year old gas boiler and wanted to go for a green option and decided to get an Air Source Heat Pump. We'd only done most retrofit measures - loft insulation and draught measures for doors and windows. We selected Cotswold Energy Group, who did a thorough survey, analysis and proposal. Despite living in an old house, there was very little disruption - the installers were excellent. We were also helped with our paperwork (grant application). We have had excellent post installation hand-holding as we got to know the system, and now just let it do its thing. Despite it being a 200 years old Listed Building with solid walls, the system has performed very well, as per the design and specification. We are very pleased with it.

We had been considering installing an air source heat pump for some years and finally the RHI incentive encouraged more serious thought. We live in a recently extended stone built house and knew good design and sizing of a suitable system would be critical. We contacted 5 ASHP specialist installers and found that Cotswold were the only company able to fully explain their design - this inspired confidence and we felt they fully justified quoting a price higher than that quoted by some others.
The team - installers and technical back-up (especially Zoe) - were exemplary in answering questions and consulting about issues prior to and during installation (pipe runs, location of components, explanations, etc) so that we now have a bespoke system that does everything we require. Inevitably there were issues during the installation but these were quickly resolved satisfactorily.
It was a pleasure to have obvious professionals working in our house.
The installation has been running 6 months and we are delighted with overall performance - much smoother temperature control and always warm enough, running costs similar to previous mains gas heating. A good experience, highly recommended.

The company were friendly and helpful throughout, from the initial assessment and quote to the installation itself, which was reasonably speedy. There was a hiccup after a month or two, apparently down to Mitsubishi moving the goalposts, but it was dealt with by a visit. My various questions by email or over the phone were dealt with courteously and helpfully.

Cotswold Energy installed an air source heat pump into our house. They provide a brilliant service, from a very informative proposal with lots of helpful details, through the works when the lads fitting the system worked really hard to get the system in before the RHI incentive ended. They kept the impact on the house, including when the hot water was off, as minimal as possible. My only request would be a slightly better run through the operation instructions, although You Tube was helpful and was happy to run through it multiple times. The job started with an initial survey and explanation of the procedure and within a month I had had a bill and a start date. The work was carried out by an amazing team of people who were kind, considerate and courteous. They took the three days before Good Friday plus two hours on Easter Tuesday when our queries were answered.

Good company that delivers a good product and is very keen to get things right. Friendly installers who do a tidy job with only some minor snags that they corrected. Occasionally slightly overwhelmed by the volume of work they have (it’s a good sign that they are so busy) and the crazy way the government goes about incentivising ASHPs

Cotswold Energy Group fitted our Air Source Heat Pump in March '22. The whole team were fabulous from the initial consultation right through to the plumbing and electrical fitting. Special thanks go to Zoe who kept in contact throughout. The plumbers, Craig and Christoph were fabulous as was James the electrician. The pipework is complex (especially connecting with the cylinder) and the result is very neat especially bearing in mind the small space we gave them to work with. The whole job was completed in 6 days. Our old stone cottage is lovely and warm at last (without having under floor heating!) and the water pressure is so much better than it was with our old oil boiler system. The added bonus is we are so pleased to be free of fossil fuels. Thank you to the whole Cotswold Energy team.

A big thank you to Cotswold Energy Group for getting our air source heat pump fitted at home a few days ago. They managed to conceal all of the pipework and cables, a really neat job.

Cotswold Energy Group installed our air source heat pump recently and have done a brilliant job. Special thanks to Billy (who worked so hard all week) for the complex plumbing, and to Markie for the electrics. Clean, careful, considerate folks to have around the house. Work was completed in six days (should have been five but they were short staffed). We only had two nights without hot water and the heat was on by the end of day 4. System works really well and we are delighted to have reduced our carbon emissions so much. There is a good strong supply of hot water, much better than from the old combi boiler, and heat distribution around the house is also much improved thanks to the detailed heat loss calculations. Full information was provided for the RHI application, which went through straight away with no problems. Everyone in the company has been a pleasure to deal with.

Cotswold Energy were delightful to work with and very good at what they do. They put the heat pump in with great expertise and straightened my rather crazy system out very intelligently. Excellent quality plumbing. My only problem was the paperwork which I found a bit mystifying and could have done with a bit more help and hand holding - the grants aren’t easy to apply for and it takes a while to get your head round it. All works splendidly now. Thoroughly recommend.

Office team provided excellent information and answered queries promptly. The engineering team who installed the system were clearly very skilled,friendly and kept us well informed. When the heating was off they bought 5 portable radiators. It was noticeable that at the end of each day they cleared up and neatly stashed their tools. Always a good sign. Heat pump is not a straight replacement for a gas boiler. It requires rethinking how and where you want to keep the house warm. It seems a more cozy heat than the flat out blast of gas fed radiators. At first we got too hot but now we are very happy with the warmth. Only occasionally are we conscious of any low hum from the air force pump. The solar hot water pump pumping the heating liquid make more noise.
The only minor point is a bit more hand over on completion would have been helpful but queries were quickly answered by head office. Gas has gone just before the massive hike in prices. Cotswold were excellent from beginning to the end.

Everyone who helped us with our heat pump installation was friendly and very helpful. They were positive, informative and professional. Heat-loss calculations were carried out and subsequent plan established, all transparent, explained and communicated brilliantly. The engineers not only installed our heat pump, but also removed an ancient back breaking boiler, old pipes, loft tank and replaced all our radiators. They then helped us with our grant application. And for those of you who doubt heat pumps works, it’s been very cold over the last few days and we have been warm and cosy. It works like a dream, is quiet and energy efficient. I often hear: ‘but will it work when it drops below zero and there’s no heat in the air.’ A disturbing lack of science knowledge; there is still heat in the air, humans didn’t decide: ‘oh, water freezing, let’s call that zero and below that, all heat is gone.’ The pump works, it’s currently 1.5 degrees outside, and 20 inside. Everyone at CEG was amazing, and I can see why they are winning awards. The electrician guided me on the set up, and even helped me install the app on my phone. Nothing was too much trouble, and no negativity, just solutions and advice. I asked 6000 questions, all answered promptly and effectively. Highly recommended, thanks CEG.

The installation process was surprisingly quick and easy, from the initial visit to final installation everything went smoothly, and I was particularly pleased with bespoke adaptations including adding extra pipework outside the property and some marvellous plumbing to get a 200L cylinder into a tiny airing cupboard.
Life with the Heat Pump has been great. Immediately after the installation we have a deep cold snap, and we could tell immediately that the pump was going to do a good job. The property is old, with solid walls, and although the radiator temp is 50 degrees, we get sufficient output to keep us warm and provide all our hot water. We are able to continually tweak the temperature which suits us, then the system does the rest, compensating for changes in temperature. We do also use a log burner on some days, which allows us to reduce use of electricity and keep the main living areas toastie while other areas a bit cooler; it's important to get to know your system to optimise it's performance depending on your requirements, lifestyle etc. However, with a green electricity supply, we are now comfortable that we have carbon zero heating, at a comparable cost to the gas combi boiler we have replaced.

This project from start to finish has been a very enjoyable experience. Zoe has been very helpful right from the word go, patiently explaining the system to me and able to address or find someone to address all my concerns. The ASHP and radiators were installed by Jack and Rich. I was particularly impressed with Jack’s professionalism, attitude and work. A brilliant asset to the team. Aaron is one of the most polite managers I’ve come across and he was most helpful and sorted any niggles or issues I had with the system. Markie, probably the most educated and polite electrician I’ve encountered was very helpful in explaining the workings of all the controls. Everyone in the office, Laura, Mitch, Naomi, Nadja and Hannah have all been very pleasant and helpful. Well done to CEG for finding a team that is professional, pleasant, polite and efficient. I would definitely and have recommended them to others that are thinking of installing an ASHP and in doing so help save the planet.

Cotswold Energy Group Ltd (CEG) replaced my old gas boiler gravity-fed system with a mains-pressure ASHP system. That included both a unit that utilises the spare energy from our solar panels to heat the water, and a monitoring system (MMSP) that provides historical information on how the system is performing. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!
There are always going to be some glitches when installing an ASHP into an existing house, but those were all dealt with promptly and resolved to my satisfaction.
I was impressed by several of the CEG team members - Zoe got things done, Simon provided expert advice, and the installation was very professionally carried out by Rich (plumbing) and Markie (electricals).
In summary, they did a great job!

Really happy with the new system, the house is always warm and we have much better hot water volume and pressure than the previous gas combi boiler. Sam and Josh who installed the system were quick and conscientious, it's an awkward old house to work in as nothing is level and the stone walls are nearly 3 foot thick. I would definitely recommend them as a company.
