I needed some Saw blades urgently and decided to give this company a go.

I explained the type I wanted and what they were for and placed my order over the phone.

The blades duly arrived and were not the ones I wanted . Ok , no probs, things happen. I called to explain and the representative said they would send the correct ones out without charge. great I thought .
A week went by and no replacement blades, I called and was advised they hadn`t been posted ! The lady I spoke to said they would be posted that day First Class .

Another week went by and still no blades.. I called again to be advised the blades had been posted but to wait a few more days as First Class post can be delayed. I agreed, but by 1 week ?

5 more days and still no blades, not a great start for a new customer but I called again and decided to ask for a refund , If the blades turn up Ill happily pay for them .

The representative told me Royal Mail terms meant I had to wait 10 days for a replacement or a refund !!?

Hang On , I had a contract with Cookson and not Royal Mail (RM) !
I was then met with a very confrontational attitude from the lady on the phone which resulted in her putting me through to her Supervisor .
I suggested that as a new customer surely it was in their interest to get replacement blades out to me asap and keep the relationship going.
No , there was no negotiation , just the 10 day terms drivel , which I found quite unbelievable. I even offered to pay for the second set of blades should they turn up. In all honesty I feel the blades were never posted and I found the whole experience , frustrating , pathetic and laughable.

It wasnt the loss of £6 , just the principle as I needed them urgently. almost 3 weeks to get an order out to me is rather bad.

I run my own business and I bend over backwards to help customers should anything go wrong which fortunately for me it rarely happens.
FYI Cookson , you as a retailer have a duty to see goods are received by their customers, if things go missing its your responsibility not Royal Mail`s .

I will now avoid this company , they have lost any future business from me and maybe others who read this review .
**UPDATE**
17/02 . Within a couple of days of this review I had received my refund but surprisingly the Saw blades have still not surfaced. Nor have Cookson after I politely emailed the respondent at the email address she provided on her reply below .
Its strange after offering to intervene and maybe remedy the situation they havnt had the sense to maybe send me my original order and or try to keep my faith in this company .

Coincidently I received a call the same day as my last update , and today 18th feb , I received two packs of complimentary blades for all the inconvenience . Its a shame I had to resort to Trustpilot to air my frustrations but they were ignored largely by the company . A satisfactory outcome although I had to source the blades elsewhere in the meantime due to Cooksons rigid 10 day sit and wait policy on lost items. I still feel under the circumstances this just isnt good enough , what would of happened on higher value items ?
Hopefully they will review this .
