Maintenance Manager. So far 0 response: They all go home before 5 !
It is now A WEEK since I have had an 80 F unit,
I have had my thermostat OFF;
My window wide open day & night;
Fans are ON.
Day after day the temperature does not change.
I want this ridiculous situation to END!

Not even moved in and already regret! I sold my condo and I need a date I can move in (supposed to be in 2 weeks). They said they can't give me a date so I will have to rent a place to put all my furniture AND I will probably have to rent a hotel room because they didn't start the renovations yet and there is a lot to do!!!
Or I will have to transfer the lease to someone else and move somewhere else😞

Billing and Financial Issues
Residents and families have reported problems with billing, including unauthorized charges, misplaced funds, double billing, and difficulty obtaining refunds. Automated payment plans have been criticized for giving Cogir access to residents’ bank accounts, and late fees are sometimes applied unfairly due to short notice on billing statements.

In our case it appears that they have charged for services not provided including services 6 weeks after she passed away! It has been beyond difficult to resolve the matters. They NEVER respond. They simply ignore.

I suggest you avoid COGIR and the Port Townsend location.

This company cares nothing about it residents and all about it profits. We are charged almost $10,000 per month for my mother with Dementia. We show up and her bed sheets haven't been changed for two weeks. Something there are no sheets on the bed and missing pillow cases. They have lost the sheets we purchased for her bed and given her some other persons sheets. They have lost her clothing while doing laundry, they hire the cheapest staff but charge the most money for the care the kind of provide. We were purchasing Ensure shakes from Amazon and having them delivered to the site for my mother. We found out staff was handing them out as community drinks on our dime.

I wanted to share my experience with your services. Unfortunately, it has been disappointing. I found a lack of transparency in financial matters, and several important details were communicated at the last minute. While apologies were offered afterward, the experience caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty.

Based on this experience, I would be cautious in recommending Cogir’s services and suggest that improvements in communication and transparency are necessary for a better client experience.

I am deeply disappointed and heartbroken by the way Cogir Retirement Home treats its residents and their families. What should be a place of care, compassion, and dignity has instead become a place of neglect and emotional harm.
Family members are often left inside for long periods without being taken outdoors for fresh air or activity. Basic hygiene, such as bathing, is neglected far too often. Residents’ personal needs and wellbeing are not treated with the respect every human being deserves.
This kind of mistreatment goes beyond poor management—it is mental and emotional abuse that can lead to severe health consequences. When someone’s emotional wellbeing is ignored, their physical health can decline rapidly, and sadly, this neglect has led to devastating outcomes for many.
Our loved ones deserve care, kindness, and humanity—not to be treated like a burden or forgotten. I truly hope this review serves as a wake-up call for change and accountability within Cogir Retirement Home before more lives are negatively affected.

Self serving company that takes advantage of the elderly with diminished services with maximum rental increases. No accountability and no responsibility. They take over existing residences and run them as slum lords. Turnover experienced loyal dedicated staff and replace them with unqualified low level uncaring short-lived staff. No namers.... shame on the CEO. Hope this helps others not to make the same mistake. In our case it was a takeover of a well manged facility network called Chartwell Wellesley.

Holly Burn house cogir the DOC is horrinle , she hires 95% her race who she turns into her clique meaning care is not up to standard, she cover ups for them ,she fires and replace those who are not her race with her race, she wants to be surounded by her own poeple she micro manages, the reason holly burn house is surving because of one good leader the CEO Kathy Russel she understand her workers and resident,

I am a resident at Scenic Grande. When I moved in a year ago, the management company was Rivera, and they were doing a good job. Most of the employees were full time with benefits. They were happy and we were happy. But then Cogier took over the management. Almost immediately, they began cutting back on staff hours to the point that they would not have to provide benefits. This made it impossible for valued staff to stay and we began to lose activities. When we complained, we were basically told it was not our concern. At a recent town hall, Matt, the regional manager stated three times that they were actively searching for full time staff. When I asked why they hadn’t kept the full time staff in the first place, he talked in circles and ended up blaming the union. Aleks, our manager, came away from that meeting realizing there needed to be better communication, and she has instituted a Friday morning coffee with residents. This is a big step in the right direction. There are many new people moving in, but staff hires have not kept pace, meaning the remaining staff are working harder. I like my little suite, the building and grounds. The hallways are wide and well lit. But the management under Rivera was far superior to Cogier. They are interested only in the bottom line!

Not all Cogir facilities are the same. We interviewed two Cogir facilities in our area and one was phenomenal in their services and how we were treated and one left a very bad taste in our mouths and services differed in both prices and amenities. Cogir of Northgate was phenomenal. Brianne was our host and she went above and beyond in her tour as well as her ability to understand our needs. We also had great customer service from the Manager Otto who followed up with us in our journey to find the right place. The staff was kind and friendly. We also had the opportunity to talk to some of the residents who were very satisfied with their arrangements and care. My husband and I were very impressed at the quality of this establishment. We would definitely recommend Cogir of Northgate.

Do not send your elderly relatives here. Conversely. If you are an older person looking for a assisted living facility do not entertain cogir as a possibility. They are all about the bottom line. Completely unprofessional, very high turnover, very low caregiver to residents ratio.
Management spends most of its time in meetings. Every time I called about my mother I was treated disrespectfully or they had no idea what was going on. So many mistakes and my mother was always sad and upset by it. They then act as if complaints happen all the time, every resident makes them and they can't be bothered. My mother had 17 different caregivers in 5 months. Ridiculous and super expensive
