With very little investment banking experience, I was nervous about my prospects of breaking into such a competitive industry.

I completed the 8-week City Investment Training programme in Summer 2025, and it completely changed that.

I built full financial models, worked on DCF, M&A and LBO analysis, and created investment decks I could confidently walk through in interviews.

The interview preparation was a game changer - the mock interviews and case study practice gave me the confidence to perform under pressure.

I have attended multiple workshops of City Investment Training. I attended their Financial Modelling workshop where we forecasted financial statements.
In their Hedge Fund training program we built a portfolio based on certain criteria on Koyfin. In their most recent Private Equity Workhsop we built an LBO model from scratch, gained insights on how to break into private equity and investment banking overall. Their workshops are really heelpful and give a realistic picture of the IB world.
I recommend everyone to take their 8 week course for those who want to kisckstart a career in investment banking.

Great free course for anyone interested in private equity. It covers everything from career paths and interview prep to actually building an LBO model, which makes it very practical. The demo of mock interview with Sameer was especially useful for understanding real expectations.

I recently attended the Private Equity Masterclass by City Investment Training, and it was a genuinely valuable experience.

What stood out to me most was the focus on understanding the why behind each step, rather than just following a model mechanically. The LBO walkthrough was particularly insightful. I was able to build and fully understand a model from scratch, including how EBITDA growth, deleveraging, and multiple expansion drive returns.

The session also went beyond technicals, covering private equity career paths, interview strategies, and how to approach pitching deals, which made it very well-rounded. Hearing practical insights from professionals added even more depth.

Overall, a highly engaging and structured session that strengthened both my technical understanding and perspective on private equity.

It was a great experience, learning different aspects of financial modelling and job related process.

I’m an international student, and breaking into investment banking in the UK felt like a steep uphill battle.

The 8 week program in the summer of 2025 gave me a structured plan and hands-on coaching from senior bankers (people who actually know what top firms screen for). The technical training was strong, but what really accelerated my progress was learning how to use AI tools properly to move faster: researching firms, generating outreach angles, improving networking messages, and producing M&A / equity research style material quickly without sacrificing quality.

On top of that, the mock interviews were intense and realistic, and they helped me sharpen my “walk me through your CV”, and my deal/markets answers so they sounded natural rather than memorised.
