We purchased an apartment through Ian at Chancellors, St Johns Wood. We have purchased and sold a few properties over the years but this transaction stands out as the most seamless.

I have recently sold my apartment in St Johns Wood. Dean Whitley was the agent appointed.
This was an extremely challenging transaction that took over 6 months to complete. Many other agents would have lost interest and the deal would have collapsed. I contacted Chancellor’s about a flat I wanted to view in Maida Vale and spoke to Miles at the St John’s Wood branch. Not having reneged for many years I had a lot of questions that, to the seasoned renter would’ve been obvious, but Miles patiently answered them all and took his time in doing so. I didn’t ever feel any sense of impatience or exasperation at the - pretty basic! - questions I was asking. Communal hot water? “Did I need to get up very early to avoid the hot water tanks being emptied by everyone having a shower first thing…?” That kind of thing…

On the day of viewing Miles called me to let me know an offer on that flat had been accepted and offered to send me alternatives. We organised two other viewings. Miles was really open and, I felt, honest in his appraisal of both flats setting out what he saw as the benefits or drawbacks of both in a positive and honest way. I really appreciated that and I felt I could trust him as there was no upselling or overselling, just showing me around and pointing out things that were interesting. It was a quick decision for me that I wanted to make and Miles worked quickly once I made an offer, keeping in touch and keeping me updated. Once we’d had the offer accepted it was a smooth handover to the lettings team and completing the contracts has been a smooth process with Lauren keeping me updated and informed. I’ve a move in date set and so far the whole process has been smooth and really straightforward.

Searching for a new place to live just after three national lockdowns and not having moved house in a long time was a daunting process but Ella at Chancellors was incredibly efficient, helpful and friendly. She was there to talk through requirements by phone, arrange first and second viewings at the best times to suit us and to help clarify any specific details that we needed before we committed to signing on a property. I would highly recommend Chancellors and specifically Ella to anyone house hunting!

Miles was very helpful in helping us communicate our requirements to the landlord. Further, his timely communication and ability to stay on top of things helped us make an offer and promptly get accepted. I first spoke to Dean (Whitley) a year ago regarding the sale/letting of my flat that was occupied by my daughter. He impressed me with his analysis of the options available in the context of post the lockdown (2020) Having decided to sell the process was handled by Ian (Newton). He worked extremely hard to ensure both the buyer and myself were fully appraised of the progress, and also the issues arising with the pernikety questions raised the solicitors.
