I only encountered Shana Tolsma more or less by accident when we were trying to complete work on a flat. Chancellor's had come up with an initial quote which seemed very high. Shana came to fill in whilst the first organiser was on holiday. She immediately found a less expensive quote for the same job. I was impressed with her very positive attitude and competency. Some of her colleagues are not always so good. Although the project is yet to be finished, Shana has made sure it has sound foundations.

Quite simply, she was willing to put in the effort and go the extra mile.

WHY DO YOU KEEP ADVERTISING PROPERTIES THAT HAVE BEEN LET OVER 6 MONTHS AGO.

I was searching and came across a 'ready to move in' property in Warfield, did the enquiry and was told its already LET 6 MONTHS AGO.

Dillion in Bracknell office called me today after my web enquiry and I explained I had seen the property over 6 months ago and was excited to see it advertised again BUT he confirmed it was already had a tenant BUT was more interested in asking what I was looking for to get me signed up.

I do not understand why you have to advertise available properties when they are not !!

It is with considerable disappointment that I provide this account of my experience with Chancellors in their role as letting and managing agents. Despite representing themselves as responsible intermediaries, Chancellors failed to deliver on fundamental aspects of their role and showed a consistent lack of regard for the tenant’s experience.

At the outset of the tenancy, Chancellors provided only the front door key, offering no additional information, documentation, or support typically expected during a move-in process. Upon entry, it was immediately apparent that the property had not been adequately prepared. Dozens of spotlights and light bulbs were either missing, broken, or non-functional working. The trash bins were left full, the white tiles were stained dark, and cobwebs were present throughout the property.

Despite these clear and visible issues, Chancellors insisted the property had been inspected prior to the move-in date—an assertion that is plainly untrue. The condition of the property strongly suggested otherwise and reflected a serious neglect of duty.

From the outset, Chancellors appeared to act with the sole intention of protecting the landlord’s interests, often to the detriment of the tenant. Their failure to ensure basic living standards and their unwillingness to acknowledge responsibility raise serious concerns about their professionalism and accountability as a property management service.

This experience has highlighted a troubling misalignment between Chancellors’ stated responsibilities and their actual conduct, which tenants should be aware of when considering their services.

Ms. Rebecca Hayes, Property Manager is very instrumental in handling our property matters with professionalism and diligence. All the issues were resolved with promptness and efficiency, and we are grateful for her support and care. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.

Just to mention that Will Voyce at Chancellors is very helpful, polite and extremely efficient. He communicates very well and any verbal conversation is always followed up very responsibly with an email. This has made our dealings with Chancellors stress free since Will has become our Property Manager. He is very professional and willing to listen to any issues we have and follows up and keeps us informed every step of the way. We are very happy with his service and it has made a real difference in our dealings with Chancellors.

Following the storms of December 2024, damage was sustained to my property that I rent out in Gloucestershire. Thanks to the Staff at Chancellors, all the damage was dealt with by them. They made sure the companies and builders were competent and their quotes reasonable. All the damage was repaired to a high standard. At all times I was sent photos and updates. Well done Chancellors.

I am new to the UK and tried to use letting agents for renting a property. Everyone acted very kind to me except Chancellors. They shared me a word document with the terms typed in, most of them are protecting the interest of landlords or letting agents. In modern days, they request a guarantor for the payments on your behalf. Guarantor clause made me opt for another letting agent, so they ended up charging me 1 week rent (called as Holding Deposit). In my opinion, this is very unfair and monopoly and taxing the customer without rendering any services.

Liberty Noke kept me well informed and always made sure I received important updates in good time regarding my tenancy. The communication was clear, timely, and helpful throughout. I really appreciated the support and professionalism.
