I am incredibly dissatisfied with my experience at Brown & Co Solicitors. I opened a case on 09/09/2022, and over two years later, there has been little to no progress.

I have incurred expensive legal fees for nothing, and the communication from the firm has been lacking. It feels like my case is not being taken seriously.

I’ve seen numerous negative reviews online that echo my frustrations. If the firm cannot effectively handle a matter involving only £3k, I question their capabilities.

I urge potential clients to be cautious and reconsider working with Brown & Co Solicitors. This situation has dragged on for far too long, and I refuse to waste any more time or money

I was introduced to this solicitor by a friend, and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Initially, he was extremely persistent, calling and texting almost every second day to secure payment. While this was annoying, I tolerated it due to the recommendation from my friend.

However, once I made the deposit and provided my instructions, his responsiveness quickly declined. He eventually became completely unresponsive, which was frustrating given the urgency of my case. To make matters worse, he handed off my case to a colleague without informing me, and I later discovered that they had lost all my personal data. I was asked to resend everything without any explanation or apology.

The work I hired them for never progressed. As the situation changed, I provided updated instructions, but these were ignored. Instead, I received irrelevant requests from their office, highlighting a severe lack of internal communication.

At the final stages, after weeks of frustration and no progress, I decided to end the collaboration and requested a full refund. I also filed a formal complaint with their office, following their terms and conditions. To my surprise, I received a response after midnight, acknowledging my complaint and promising a refund within a week. It's now been a month and a half, and I have yet to receive a reply or the promised refund.

I have since raised official complaints with the regulators. Based on my personal experience, I strongly advise anyone seeking reliable legal representation to stay away from this solicitor. Their unprofessionalism and lack of accountability are truly alarming.

If you require a solicitor, avoid choosing a generalist like Mr. Winston Brown. He is what is commonly referred to as a pathological liar, one of the most untrustworthy individuals you could encounter.

I engaged Mr. Brown's firm for assistance with a personal injury case. Mr. Brown initiated the claim, with the only remaining task being to serve the claim to the other party.

However, I was unable to proceed with serving the claim due to negative repercussions from a report.

To summarize, after gathering evidence, I eventually filed the claim myself. A limitation hearing was scheduled, and I requested Mr. Brown's assistance in finding representation.

He initially agreed but ultimately failed to follow through. The day before the hearing, he informed me that he would be representing me instead, leaving no time for alternative arrangements.

Mr. Brown made an application for relief of sanction without my instruction and submitted the documents to the court without paying the necessary fees, resulting in the immediate dismissal of my case.

This was further compounded by Mr. Brown falsely informing the judge during the hearing that I had filed the claim outside the limitation period, despite having proof to the contrary.

As is standard practice with legal representation, I was not allowed to speak in court. Additionally, Mr. Brown took six months to refund my money.

Following a complaint to the ombudsman, he provided misleading information about the situation. Ultimately, I was awarded £1,000 for service failure.

I am cautioning others against placing their trust in this individual. Just as he mishandled and deceived me in my case, he may do the same to others. One day, he will face the consequences of his actions.

A year and half of going through getting my partner added to the deeds. Constantly told its with the Land registry, promised updates and nothing back from them. Constantly chasing and now seeking legal advice about a law firm. Wish I read the reviews.

It took Winston Brown 9 months to file a response to an online divorce petition.
It is taking Winston Brown 5 emails so far and countless telephone calls to provide me with a time sheet by way of invoice against my retainer.

After the 4th email after I complained that dealing with him was akin to having ones teeth extracted without anesthetic, he finally responded by overcharging me hundreds of pounds over his stated hourly rate contained in my signed CCL.

After numerous unresponded emails and telephone calls later and I'm still waiting as I type for him to correct this error.

I have emailed him withdrawing my consent for him to act any longer for me (effectively firing him him) and he is refusing to send me a revised invoice and refusing to refund me the balance of my retainer.

My experience continues to be one akin to having multiple wisdom teeth extractions without anesthetic.

I wish I had read up on his reviews before instructing him.

Avoid Winston Brown at all cost! He has been very poor value for money and my ordeal with him continues as I type.

A formal complaint to the Law Society and the Legal Ombudsman to follow.

Very difficult to get in touch with and pretty much every time they had to do something, they did it incorrectly. For example, I had multiple emails telling me I needed to sign documents I had already signed. They repeatedly just did not keep track of my case. On completion day (for purchasing a property), it was difficult, with the purchase only being confirmed at 4.30 pm (when the payment system stops at 5), so I was wandering around in the city I was moving to for hours getting stressed that it wasn't going to go through (Which would have been a problem with transport and movers). I called so many times that day and the person on the phone never seemed to know anything, and I kept being told "I'll pass it on"

Really happy with my experience of using this company when selling my house.
Even though the latter end of the “ covid” situation and most staff working from home - I was able to speak to someone every time I called either for help or info and if anyone promised to call me back they did.
