Poor customer service on the phone and in the branch also the online accou nt has many issues stay away

I had been with Harris Bank since 2013, a more pathetic outfit would be hard to find.
Staff and branch management are consistently over that time poorly trained, rude, product knowledge is shocking, their procedures and processes belong in the past.
Adding a name to my LLC took 5 visits and seven hours to conclude and at that it’s still not done, their back office has to process it now.
Interests rates on business deposits are pathetic.
$10 charge to use their atm card at a non Harris location, guess what…that is most places.
I cannot recommend them in any way, if you have an issue they will screw it up.

Every single transaction here is fraught with staff who are belligerent and rude, managers who lie and bluster, and a general lack of ANY sense of customer service. I have actually had a teller tell me to bank elsewhere and not come back. This is the worst bank ever for getting anything accomplished or even getting heard. Had to call in my lawyer three times to email their legal counsel to have them "straighten" out the local branches. And btw, when you drop of a death certificate as the executive of a will, they don't record it EVER and won't accept legal documents that you are the executor at all.

Worst mobile banking ever. Web team at BMO is incapable of handling customers seeking protection on their end of the transaction, like vpn with persistent ip address. This has been persistent now for a month or two. Calling in for help goes nowhere. I bank with other banks, vpn? not a problem. Pay all bills online with vpn, not a problem. Maybe BMO management should consider a tech team with modern required skills.

Had a checking account and a line of credit.
Both were a nightmare, stay away from this bank.

Horrible banking service

1.) I was buying a house and I needed 2 years of bank statements. They wanted to charge me $5.00 per page. I said "Are you serious?!" They replied with "Well we need to make money somehow."
2.)They run all of their payments BEFORE deposits. That way they can hit you with as many late fees as they possibly can, THEN they deposit your check.

Worst bank I have ever dealt with period. Won't even vent on this. It's to much. The hell with this bank???

Customer service is incompetent and frankly ignorant. Services offered are extremely subpar compared to other major banks. A bank trapped in 00s or even 90s

My account has been frozen for about 3 weeks I have done everything they asked still can not access my account I feel like I am jumping through hoops and getting nowhere

I recently opened a new BMO account, and I’m honestly furious with how my first experience has gone. After depositing my very first check through the BMO mobile app, I was shocked to find out it will take 7 business days to process — yes, seven! I even called customer service hoping there was a way to speed things up, but got absolutely nowhere.

How is anyone supposed to pay their bills or manage everyday expenses with such a ridiculous wait time for a simple mobile deposit? This is 2025 — every other major bank processes checks within a day or two at most. I opened this account expecting convenience, but instead I’m stuck waiting over a week just to access my own money.

If this is how BMO treats new customers, I’m seriously regretting making the switch. Definitely not the kind of “modern banking experience” they advertise.

I sold a vehicle for $21,000,and i was paid with a BMO cashiers check,my bank said we have a lot of issues with BMO cashiers checks,but since the money is prepaid,stop at BMO,and cash the cashiers check there.
I was told that they don't cash there own cashiers checks,but if I wanted to open up an account,I could deposit the cashiers check.
I replied,a cashiers check is already paid for,and for that reason you already have the funds,and her response was,I agree.

Absolutely pathetic. I bank with BMO in Palmetto Florida. I dont care which way you lean politically. But when the president says to fly flags half mass for the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk and Palmetto Florida BMO harris bank shows how they really feel and do not take their flag to half mass THAT IS DISGRACEFUL. I will be changing banks. BMO HARRIS YOU ARE A PATHETIC group of people. REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

It's been more than two weeks since paying off a loan. One week after they still tried drawing what would be have been the regular payment. I was told that I would have to wait 3 to 5 business days for the money to draw even though the bank that the funds were coming from showed it already had. After that I would need to wait an additional 10 business days for them to issue a refund check since the loan was now showing paid off. Why so long? Are they investing the money and drawing interest on it as long as they can before giving it back. It's my money not theirs. Still haven't received any paperwork two weeks later. No one at the bank seems to know except its showing no further balance due. Please do not due business with this bank. Corrupt as hell.

I wish I could take stars away. This is the worst bank on gods green earth. I’ve banked here for almost a year and in that time they have STOLEN every deposit. They put them on hold for weeks, then they just empty my account. They have stolen a total of 300,000$ from my account. Save your self and your money by banking ANYWHERE ELSE. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY HERE.

this is the worst bank. I can't deposit checks, the background is not black enough. I take pictures on a flat matte black photo box to deposit the checks. Never works. So I have to always drive to the bank to deposit. The most inconvenient bank ever. To speak with a human it's very hard too. I have to authenticate with: my social, my pin, my card number, my bank account number, my card pin.
When I try to pay my credit card, which is linked to this bank, it's a credit card from this bank, there is no PAY button so i must always call someone in India and give them: my bank account number, my pin, my security pin, my credit card number ALL OVER AGAIN.
This is ridiculous! It was better when the bank was bank of the west. I'm switching banks. I heard US Bank is decent.

I would not utilize this financial institution and can only recommend you do the same. Despite account statements clearly reflecting the titling of an account, the bank refuses to release funds to the lawful owner. They have been holding up the funds for several months without any explanation other than they can. They prefer litigation over customer service.

Stuff on a shingle. Do not go here! I went in because I have a Tesla car loan with them for three years, which has been fine. I needed a new checking account so I could distribute funds from an IRS tax refund from a trust amongst my siblings. I presented the check from the US Treasury made out to the trust and asked, since I already had a relationship with BMO, if we could try opening a checking account for the trust to distribute these funds. The man at his desk, a very personable and nice guy, said yes, we can do that for you: open a checking account. I provided all the requested paperwork for their legal team, which was approved after a day. Great. The account was opened, they deposited the check from the US Treasury, and handed me the usual sheet of three starter checks. After a couple of days, I wrote the checks and sent them out. Then, eight days later, I arrived home in the evening and found in the mail a notice from BMO. They declared that they were putting a hold on all checks on this account because they say they do this for 30 days on all new accounts. This was the first I'd heard of this! The checks are already written, sent, and being deposited. I have let them know that my lawyers will be in touch. I will demand full reimbursement for all fees and expenses, including attorney's fees. This place is terrible. GTFO ASAP.
-- And now an update -- It turns out that the BMO staff who said literally that there was nothing they could do, no one to call, excuses for their shrugging, then decided to close my account and send the funds (they claim) back to the IRS. I have no access to the account information. They won't re-enable my web account access. I can not see any transactions to back up what they have said. I requested documentation of what they said they did and ... crickets. WTF. Do I call the Attorney General? Help!

HORRIBLE! Hours on the phone only to be disconnected and provided inconsistent information. I was told I HAD to close my account due to fraud concerns but could open a replacement account via phone. Then was told that my husband had to be on the phone too. He drove home hours to participate and we spent hours verifying information and were told the account would be active (e.g. to reinstate autobill payments) 48 hours after our receipt of confirmation emails. Emails never came. More hours on the phone only to be told that we need to drive the 3 hours to the nearest branch to open a new account and that the different departments can't be expected to know or track what's been shared or promised by other departments. Still on hold while I'm typing. I will drive the 3 hours and will gift cheap champagne so they can celebrate my move to a different bank.
