My 77year old mother bought 2 recliners from them and paid 150.00 to deliver. They delivered and would not set them up even when she offered to pay extra they wouldn't do it. What a joke of a company.
I ordered to blankets on December 13…
I ordered to blankets on December 13 which told me I would be receiving them on Dec 15 or 16 . Today is the 18 and they are still in processing not to mention I payed for priority shipping. I have called and called keep getting all of these excuses so my next call will be to corporate office
Horrible Experience
Their website wont work so I had to use their customer service chat and then use a different browser. Now they say order processing takes 5-8 days and then it ships after that where it can take another 8 days.
Items wont arrive in time for december birthdays or christmas
and they cant cancel the order.
Cannot cancel order
I just made an order on their website by mistake. I started a refund claim but they replied saying that I will have to return the order after its shipment. They have not ship the order yet and they say they cannot cancel it!!! Never saw such a hassle to cancel an order I just made.
2 orders placed both incorrect
I placed two orders. One was for 10 sets of the same item. I received 9 and 1 incorrect item. The 2nd was for 5 items. I received 2 one day. The second shipment only included 1 of 3 items even though the invoice indicated there were 3.
Terrible experience with Christmas…
Terrible experience with Christmas tree! I ordered a tree online. Loved it for 24 hours and then half the lights went out on top part. Did all the troubleshooting like changing all bulbs and checking them and changing fuse. Nothing worked so took it to store with the hopes of exchanging it. They don’t carry in stores. Fine. Ordered online again and arrived in a timely manner but this time the tree arrived without the base. I give up! Will never buy a tree from biglots again. So frustrated and tired of trying to explain to my three year old why we can’t keep a tree.

ordered 4 rugs on line. received 3. have been trying to obtain refund due for 4th rug for over a month. Nothing but excuses & run-arounds. No call backs, emails, or refund. Poor customer service, poor attitude of representatives
Do NOT buy furniture here!
Please do yourself a favor and do not buy furniture through Big Lots. For $700 after tax and a protection plan added, and driving 2 hours round trip to a store that actually had one in stock, I expected the dresser I bought to meet a minimum quality standard. It did not.
Issues:
-The legs are made out of some sort of sorry cheap wood - not nice hardwood, not metal, not even ABS plastic - nothing that can handle the weight of the dresser. One of them split apart while we were tightening the leg to the bottom! Come to realize it was because there was a giant knot in the wood piece! Had to do a quick glue together, tape for stability, drive the end farther into the wood and go to town to find longer screws....another unnecessary added cost. When we finally got them on, the legs could not even handle the weight of the dresser to be tipped over and another leg started to bust out! We had to manhandle it to lean on the bed and then drop it as straight down as we could on the legs. I don't have high hopes that the legs will remain steady - figure at some point I'll awake to a crash in the middle of the night from it collapsing.
- There are defects in the veneer on the front. Two places I could see where it's warped, and nicks here and there. Not happy about that.
- There was tape all over the inside of the drawers, I guess from where they were cutting and didn't want the cheap pressed wood to rip but I'm honestly not sure. Material also isn't steady - there's definitely give in the bottom.
- On the bottom (your) lefthand drawer, there is some sort of paper catching on the inside of the dresser. Guess someone forgot it while it was being assembled. No way to get it out, the bottom is closed in and I can't reach it from inside the dresser.... irritating, to say the least.
- Some drawers do not sit flush with the face of the dresser. I didn't buy this thing sight unseen - I went and looked at one before I bought it. No issues with the floor model, but of course there are with mine.
- Their online service incorrectly indicated that the store I picked the unit up from had 0 in stock. Because of that, i could not order online and receive a 15% discount.
I tried calling customer service to no avail. Sent an email detailing the above, making it clear that the packaging was already ripped up beyond use when I got home with it and I couldn't use it to return. Asked for the 15% discount I should have been able to receive at the bare minimum.
The "customer service" representative responded with a copied/pasted message about returns and issued me a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. She could not even be bothered to read my message about the packaging materials or to try to get replacement legs for me at least. Some of the sorriest customer service I've had the displeasure of experiencing.
Won't go back
Don't go to Big Lots if you are looking for a bargain. Their more expensive than the grocery store. The cooking oil, for instance, $5.99 for the off brand maybe four oz. I did purchase a small pantry cabinet. Getting to the check out was a nightmare. It's a maze, there's four ft walls you have to go through. The Stuff...oh my. Have you ever been somewhere and thinking back you wonder "what did I see?" It's dusty the cart's are simply nasty! I won't be going back. I would be embarrassed to recommend this store.
BIG LOTS furniture and warranty are very poor quality.
I bought a sectional that all the cushions have fabric balls all over them. Any cushions that we sit on for any length of time causes these fabric balls. The cushions are very scratchy and uncomfortable to sit on. We bought the warranty but it won’t cover it. We met with the manager who assured us he would order us all new cushions. We still have nothing and continue to have a worn out sectional that is a little over a year old. The cushions started to wear shortly after we purchased it. Buyer beware of product and warranty that doesn’t cover anything. It’s a scam!!!!

My Big Lots in Burlington, NC is the best!
I needed a mattress quick for a hospital bed I'd had in storage ever since I had recovered from cancer. We had tossed the old mattress before putting the bed in storage (about 4 years ago now) Needed full linens too. (sheets, blankets, comforter, etc). My 86 YO Mom had broken her back and was coming to our house to recover (in a full back brace) and the hospital bed would allow her to sleep more comfortably.
It was close to closing time yet the employees took time to help me pick the right mattress and other items I needed. They were helpful, kind and I could tell they really valued me as a customer. I've been back to the store two or three times since and every employee I've dealt with at this store has been awesome!
I'll definitely be shopping here again!

Buyer beware
Buyer beware. Shop furniture at your own risk. Purchased a loveseat and recliner. Jerry in furniture spent a good portion of his time talking to me about his personal life and complaining about how busy his job is. He failed to explain the delivery fee would be paid separate to the delivery company. He also failed to advise the furniture arrives unassembled. Imagine my surprise when the delivery company shows up asking for cash and informs me my furniture needs to be put together. Called the store and spoke to assistant manager Stephanie. She was of no help at all. She was nothing but rude and condescending. When asked for her name she was hesitant to give it. When asked for the corporate number she gave me the regular number for big lots customer service. Never an apology or ounce of empathy. I did speak with corporate. They apologized and agreed they would be escalating the issue to a district manager named Maryann. They tried to offer me coupons which was a pure insult ... do they honestly think trying to get me to spend more money is a way to fix this. I told her no thanks. This supposed Maryann is supposed to contact me ... no word from her at this point. This has been a huge nightmare from the beginning. I have a matching sofa i am expecting to be delivered from another location. Guaranteed I will not do anymore business with Big Lots.
Online Order Fiasco
After placing my first online order was Big lots, I must say it was a nightmare. The process was awkward and difficult from shopping to check out. Following up on my order through the website was next to impossible. The shipment was delivered in 5 separate boxes delivered on 5 separate days. The resources used to send me my purchases was extraordinary and unnecessary. I am appalled at Big Lot's abuse of our eco system. And still, I had not received all of the items I ordered. I could not sort out the issues in my online account, nor was I able to speak online to anyone about the issues.
I finally resorted to calling the company and spending several hours talking to an employee who finally discovered what happened to the rest of my items. In the end, I was informed that the rest of my items had been shipped in yet another box (6th box). I was informed that this 6th, and supposedly "final" package had been returned due to damage. Then, I was transferred to sit on hold for another long wait so that someone could request that my returned items be reshipped to me. Then he informed me that there was nothing he could do to expedite the shipment but I should receive the items within a day or two oh, but it could be as long as one to two weeks. Also, he told me that Big lots corporation would not have known that my package had been returned due to damage without my having called to find out what happened. I love Big Lots, but except for the very nice employees that helped me sort this out,this was a nightmare.
Not worth the headache or hassle!!!
My son moved into his first apartment. We went with big lots to get his living room together. He picked out a sectional, we went with their delivery service. It attempted to get delivered the following week. The sectional did not fit in the door of his apartment. The delivery man said he was going to return it to the store however we still needed to pay $85 for delivery. (Fine whatever) The next day we called the store to see if we could come and pick out something else that would fit in his apartment. The clerk said the sectional had not been returned to the warehouse yet so we couldn’t pick out anything until that happens.I called the delivery guy he stated it will be returned by Friday this was on a Tuesday when I spoke with him. Saturday morning come we go up to the store because surely the sectional would be there by now. Ask the clerk working the furniture department it’s still not there. I ask them to contact their delivery service & she stated they are a third party contracting company who works for them so I’ll have to contact the delivery man himself to see when he’ll return it. I called the man he was super nasty and unprofessional stated if I wanted to pay him an additional $85 to deliver it he will deliver it to the warehouse other then that when ever he has a delivery in that area is when he will drop it off! I asked him when did he think that would be he stated probably in 2 or 3 weeks!!!! I couldn’t believe it! So we can’t stop payment on leasing , pick out anything else or get the sectional delivered……. But we still have to pay for something we don’t have!!!! I’m so upset behind the lack of concern and how unprofessional both parties are I’m looking for corporates number; something has to give today! I will never deal with them ever again! Hope this helped someone!!!! Go else where to purchase your furniture. Cheap doesn’t always mean good!!!

No matter what I do I cant get them to…
No matter what I do I can't get them to fix my account. I get emails with 20% off coupons and they are either an old account number that I haven't had a card for years or I go to my account and it says there's no coupon available. I've been trying to get this resolved for about 2 years now and still cannot get it done. We shop there every week, even the cashiers can't figure it out. I just tried sending a message via their website, I filled out the form and entered my comments, verified that I am a human and when I hit send I get a "forbidden" message. On two different browsers. I am about to cancel my membership and shop elsewhere, so frustrating!
Recently I purchased a sofa + loveseat…
Recently I purchased a sofa + loveseat combo online to be delivered to my house from the store that is nearby. I received a phone call the day of delivery and was told they were not able to deliver that day. I called and rescheduled for the next available day which was the NEXT week. The following morning I received an email saying my entire order was canceled and that they refunded me my money back to my bank account. Went into the store and physically purchased the couches and placed them on hold so we can rent a U-Haul to pick them up ourselves. The following day, they charged me AGAIN for my online order!! It actually put an alert on my bank account due to them withdrawing that money even though it still clearly shows that my online order was canceled. I called Big Lots who told me to call my bank to dispute the charges. Unfortunately I am unable to at the moment because the transaction that they did (without telling me) is still pending.

. They want to get mad at you when the car breaks down how are you going to get mad at the customers 🤔 stop selling Midway Auto car that been wrecked and put back together with no work done on the motors and transmission just they wash and sale.Bad Bissness not looking good 😕.

I would leave a zero review because that is how many couches and recliners we were able to purchase TODAY. I went into the local big lots 30mins away from my home last night and spent hours choosing a couch and recliner they had on display. Sent my husband with the trailer to pick up the items and was excited to use my coupon. Well, after he was there an hour, they finally told him they didn't have THOSE items in stock and they refused to sell us the floor model. They told us to contact a store 2 hours away to purchase. I called the store to purchase and they won't take payment over the phone (!) Not to mention, their delivery price was ridiculous. Its very horrible hearing while on hold that they are the "friendliest store in town" when they won't even sell a person ready to buy, with a trailer, the floor models that are on display since they don't have the actual products in stock. I will NEVER set foot in a big lots again.
