We are an independent group who have been caring for eyes for over 68 years. Established in 1957 by Frank Barraclough in St. Leonards and later joined by Peter Stiles, we gained a reputation founded on expertise combined with a kind and helpful manner.
Investing in the latest technology and equipment such as OCT imaging and Optomap® retinal scanning and keeping the practices modern and up to date has all helped in passing the 65 year milestone.
However, a significant contribution has been made by the people working in the company and a large proportion of our staff have been with us for many years enabling them to build excellent relationships with our clients. We're proud of the solid reputation we have built up over the years and will continue to deliver the very best possible service when it comes to eye care and customer care.

Friendly and Professional branch.
The service during the appointment was lovely, the receptionist (Claire Hallett) was friendly and knowledgeable, and the optician (James Miller) was very clear when explaining the scan results so I felt I understood everything and the appointment went by smoothly. Overall both did a great job that day and I’m glad I’ve got a dependable branch local to me.

Eye Care
Excellent service & care right from booking appointment with the reception desk through the very thorough eye test to the help choosing my new glasses and payment. Trevor Amey was excellent explaining every step of the examination & the results in a clear & concise manner. Sam Clayton carried forward the service baton waiting patiently while I tried on numerous pairs of glasses, taking images to help me decide & offering alternatives. All carried out in a calm & respectful manner. Looking forward to wearing my new glasses.
