Buying the SIM online and getting it activated before arriving in Bali was completely hassle-free. The customer support was also very good and prompt.
After arriving in Bali, I faced a small issue with the SIM not working, but their support team quickly helped me through WhatsApp and resolved the issue. Really appreciate the quick and helpful assistance.

Sehr gute Erfahrungen mit Balisim
Ich kann dieses Unternehmen jedem wärmstens an's Herz legen, der eine Simkarte für Indonesien benötigt. Leider ist der Prozess als Ausländer eine Simkarte in Indonesien in Betrieb zu nehmen weit komplizierter als in anderen Ländern. Dies liegt an der benötigten EMEI-Registrierung, Reisepasshinterlegung (Foto), wo die indonesischen Behörden verlangen. Die Regularien sind sehr streng. Dieser Anbieter hier hat jedoch sehr faire Preise, die angebotenen Simkarten funktionieren einwandfrei, sie haben technischen Support über WhatsApp und sie kümmern sich um alle Probleme, solange bis die Simkarte funktioniert. Ich kann bestätigen dass sie hier als Kunde wirklich in guten Händen sind. Ich verstehe auch die negativen Rezessionen nicht, die diesem Unternehmen die Vorwürfe formulieren, was die Registrierungsprozesse betrifft, dies sind Vorgaben der Behörden und nicht die Schuld von Balisim. Auch die Netzabdeckung oder Performanc-Probleme des Telkomsel Netzwerks sind Probleme des Providers, nicht des Simkartenhändlers. Man sollte schon fair sein und das Unternehmen mit ihrer Dienstleistung bewerten, nicht die Netzbetreiber oder Behörden von Indonesien.

Pretty good but.
The reception is good and they are really helpful on whatsapp but the last 2 times i had no reception at the airport on arrival so couldn’t track our luggage even although id sent everything in that’s was requested and got the confirmation email so i think i’ll try somewhere else the next time.

Landing without a connection to track your luggage is incredibly frustrating, and having to wait for manual processing after filling out all your forms in advance is not the smooth touchdown experience we aim to deliver.
Indonesian local regulations require a strict backend network sync upon landing, but a repeat delay is completely unacceptable on our end. We are actively auditing our pre-arrival activation queue with our engineering team to ensure passports registered in advance activate automatically the second your flight touches down.

The coverage was great across Bali, BUT
The coverage was great across Bali, including in North Bali.
However activating the esim prior to departing was convoluted. We had to load our passports and evidence photos 5 times & contact Customer Service that just told us it wasn't uploaded, despite us sending them screenshots to prove they were.
On the 5th time it finally worked.
It was active & ready to use when we landed.
If you want to get your limits, they encourage you to use the My Tekomsel app, which works fine. However, you have to plough through literally dozens of marketing offers to get to the part where it shows your remaining limits.
All the texts & pop up offers are in Indonesian, so make sure you translate before agreeing to anything as they are trying to sell you tonnes of stuff you don't want or need.
They continue to send you several a day.

Uploading your passport 5 times is definitely not the smooth experience we aim to provide. Indonesian government regulations require strict automated verification matching for foreign passports, but our support team should have handled the upload glitch much better when you sent screenshots. We are actively reviewing this with our tech and customer support teams to ensure this loop doesn't happen for future travelers.
Thank you also for sharing such valuable advice regarding the official MyTelkomsel app! Telkomsel (Indonesia's primary network carrier) defaults to sending promotional pop-ups in Indonesian to all active lines.
Pro Tip for Future Guests: You actually do not need to download or use the MyTelkomsel app to check your data balance! You can bypass the app and marketing pop-ups entirely by simply dialing *363# or checking your balance instantly via our WhatsApp support.
