The worst, I’ve ordered two sandals and only received one and I had no communication about this change from the seller and they did not refund me for the shoes that I did not receive and I thought they will send it later but they never did. I’ve sent them an email and they never replied. Horrible customer service and for me definitely I would never buy again. This was my second order, I was happy with shoes but with this level of customer service, I honestly can’t trust them and I would never order from them again. Avoid

I am genuinely astonished by how bad my experience with Baer Shoes has been.

My order was supposedly shipped, but Baer Shoes provided me with an incorrect tracking number. Almost a month later, I still have no shoes, no valid tracking information, and no idea where my order actually is.

What makes this considerably worse is the complete lack of customer service. I have now contacted them five times, using different contact forms and email addresses, and have received no meaningful response whatsoever.

Mistakes with shipping can happen. What is completely unacceptable is taking a customer's money, providing incorrect tracking information, and then apparently ignoring repeated attempts to resolve the problem.

For a company selling shoes at this price point, I expected a basic level of professionalism and customer care. Instead, nearly a month after ordering, I am left chasing a company that seemingly cannot even be bothered to reply.

Extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering from Baer Shoes online.

Leather boots breaking within 7 months

Bought these in the beginning of spring as a simple black leather boots for colder months.
The pros: They are comfortable and they were indeed warm enough for a cold spring and part of autumn. They were water resistant even after top side damage.

The cons: low durability

The first time I stubbed my toe, the “leather” pealed off. Within 2 months both sides were already very damaged on the front and looks like it is 2y old. It luckily still is water resistant.

Next disappointment is now in the autumn.

The sole is peeling off within 7 months of purchase. These are the shittiest quality boots I ever bough. Most of my boots were half the price of these and are going strong after many winters.

These one didn’t even get to survive to be tested in winter.

Non existing customer service. I have emailed them 3 times now and no answer. Paid a lot of money for a pair of shoes and 16 days later I have no idea if I will even get them. :-/

Amazing quality shoes. Really slow customer service.

Terrible customer service. Their website does not work properly and if you reach out they can't help. The shoes are good but it's almost like they don't want to sell them.

The shoes are good, but the customer service is awful. It is nigh on impossible to get any update on delivery or delivery timescales, even if a package seems lost. No one answers emails or the telephone. When you buy from Baer you throw your money into the ether, and your shoes will (probably) arrive at some point.

No stars for customer service which is a pity because I think the shoes are very good. Customer service is non existent by e-mail, UK phone number does not connect and no one answers the German telephone. Impossible to get any feedback on order processing so no idea whether outstanding order for sandals will ever arrive.

Totally agree with other comment about cookies.

I'm not going to buy anything from a company that forces you to choose all their settings.

If you can't even look at the website, what is their customer service going to be like?

Perhaps they don't like potential British customers.

You cannot enter their website without accepting all cookies, though it makes it look like you can. Waste of time, tried on two browsers. Not supporting a business that doesn't respect peoples privacy.

They sent me the wrong style/pair of shoes and then did not reply to my email. When I telephoned from Japan, where I live, they said they could not speak English (at the headquarters in Germany) and I was put on hold for several minutes while they looked for someone who could speak English.

I requested a refund for the pair of shoes which was the wrong pair, and I am still waiting to hear back from them. Be careful of buying BAR Shoes online. Very poor service from what should be a solid and reliable company.

They have some good shoes. However, ordering could be a hassle.

Their size chart is inaccurate, and they refuse to fix it despite that I've pointed it out to them. Their sizing is also somewhat inconsistent. (With mostly padded boots being smaller.)

Despite that their sales point is "toe freedom", some of their shoes are tapered in the toe area. Especially women's shoes outside of the extratourer range (regardless of width) and barefoot shoes. The pictures on their website are however quite good. Pay very close attention to them. The heel section on the other hand, tends to be diproportionally wide, which is harder to see. Then they put high friction material in the heel, to give you extra much blisters, or something. They also have a habit of putting seams in places that won't work for you if you have foot problems (hallux valgus or tailor's knot), which is a bit odd, considering that's probably their main target group. This could also be hard to see in the pictures. There are also some issues with the description. When they write "felt", it's usually polyester, not wool as one might expect. Heel to toe drop doesn't take the insole into account. German reviews are not available on the international site. When it's fabric it just says "fabric", not which fabric. (Polyester, cotton, hemp, mixture, etc?)

The first pair of shoes I bought from them took a full summer to get, due to a combination of errors in the size chart, how they handle payments, and that they don't tell when something goes wrong. They just won't process your order, without telling you.

I think they only get away with some of those things, by being one of very few companies offering at least some shoes that don't pinch the toes. Especially shoes that don't push the big toe inwards, are very hard to find. Bär, Altra, and some smaller barefoot brands, is what I can think of.
