Visited the Truro restaurant yesterday evening for a pre theater dinner and regretted doing so. Overpriced and understaffed one could cope with, poorly cooked pasta and the soup like risotto was a step to far. The final insult to a paying client was the addition of a service charge to cover tips for the entire staff, however it was removed after I objected to the undeserved charge. If a tip is deserving I will happily leave one. Ask has lost my patronage and many more customers after reading other reviews.

Went to the York ask italian, service was poor. Ordered drinks and food. Food came before any drinks. One of the drinks ordered was a cappuccino they brought the drink over and spilled it everywhere so said they would make another, failed to make another drink as machine was then malfunctioning but server never came over to tell us. Had to ask another sever what was happening with the drink for them to then tell us they couldn't make a cappuccino but could do a black coffee asked for that instead. Another 20min passed and no sign of a drink or been offered anything else. We asked a member of staff for a tap water as the drink hadn't come. Finished our food and at this point asked for a refund on the coffee, they then tried to bring it over which we said no as we were leaving. They gave us the refund but manager had a lackadaisical attitude while doing it. Didn't get a proper apology for the poor service either definitely would not visit this one again. Very bad experience.

Visited the Truro restaurant today as a party of four. The management and staff were excellent, they went the extra mile to help with menu choices and then ensured everyone was happy with meal. Warm friendly atmosphere created by the positive attitude of the team. Well Done to all in the Truro restaurant, we will be back soon

Have never visited an Ask Italian restaurant before. Really pleased with the quality of menu, food, service (especially Kayley who looked after us so well) and the atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was delicious and portions just the right size.

Food and service was poor

Went to park road branch close to park lane Marble Arch London to use 30% anniversary voucher

Starter of calamari was dry pale in colour appeared powdery large portion was advertised for 2 sharing but it barely was enough for 1 person. The dipping sauce was cheap stiff herb cream gross. It tasted of nothing I could describe

Cheapest fettuccini pasta used. Chef if you can call him one used too much garlic to a watered down bolognaise sauce passing off as ragu (which should of been deep brown red in colour but it was pink) to create flavour due to the lack of quality beef Ragu in the dish

The service was poor and mains arrived late due to the lack of attention by the staff this could be because short staffed which is a shame on ASK management not to help this branch standards are low and the food is embarrassing how they can call it Italian I don’t know

We had a lovely meal at Ask Italian at Malvern, near the three counties showground. 'Jazz' was looking after us and as I had a food allergy, we were dealt with by just her and, therefore, only one chef was in charge of my food. Good atmosphere - the meals were outstanding - just perfect. Portions were just the right size. Thank you 'Jazz' for a great service. We will be back.

I was to picup the order i ask the manager haw long is teck, is was so ungry is say i dont care about the order, i no work for this company is can spoke like this with me i am not slave.
I report to Deliveroo i call customer to tel what is say the manager i lost time and mony is not farst time when this store is do lile this.
This company is need to teach them haw can speeak with people this team is dont know.

We had a great team meal at Ask Italian Colchester. Nothing was too much trouble. As there was quite a lot of us they asked us to pre order our food by email which made it so easy and efficient and not stressful at all. The lovely waitress Katie and the manager Scott were so friendly and kept checking that everything was okay. The service was just excellent. The food was fantastic and all 17 of us had 3 courses each so we know it was a lot of work. We had vouchers to use that we had won at work for a back to school incentive over the summer and I could only download them in £50 chunks so there was 11 vouchers to process and again it seemed like it was no trouble at all. Can't recommend Ask Italian Colchester enough and we will definitely be back again soon and think we might even have our Xmas meal there too this year. Thanks to everyone that helped my whole team have a brilliant evening. It was just lovely.

We visited Ask Italian at Bluewater yesterday for the first time.
I had booked a table for my family for 4pm.
Everything from start to finish was superb.
Lovely, warm welcoming staff who really seemed to care about their customers.
We had asked for a quiet table as we wanted to talk and not shout at each other over loud music. We also asked for a spot not near air conditioning as we are fed up becoming cold during a meal due to this plus we had my 90 year old Mum with us. The staff helped to find us an appropriate table giving us a choice.
The staff were also very informative regarding our chosen foods as there was a mix of vegans/vegetarians, carnivores and nut allergies amoungst our group. and quick to be served
The food was superb. Lovely, wide selection to choose from, beautifully cooked and quick to be served.
The desserts were to die for!!!!
I never got a chance to thank the gentleman and lady who served us on arrival as I think they must have gone off shift during our meal but I would like to give them and all the staff a big thank you.
We will be returning!

Visited ASK Italian in Birmingham today after a day at the theatre. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was tasty and nicely cooked (we ordered the pollo millenese). We have visited a few different ASK Italian Restaurants in the past and this is definitely one of the better ones when it comes to the food. Restaurant was clean and nicely presented and good atmosphere. Service was a little slow which is the reason I didn't rate it 5 stars but it is definitely a good find and would eat here again when in Birmingham.

Food good - no issues with that.

Used a one4all card and asked about using a Blue Light Card discount voucher. Had used both on a previous visit to the Cheltenham restaurant with no issue.

This time waitress said I couldn't use both even though I said I had done this before. So just used the one4all card.

Queried it with Ask via email once I got home. Got an email from someone called Iain Moffat saying I should have been able to use both the card and BLC offer and that staff would be advised on this.

He also asked for a copy of the receipt and payment method intimating something would be done about it.
I thought that the discount would be applied.

Days have passed and nothing even after a follow up email to them. These organisations just can't get it right for getting it wrong. Attention to detail is so poor.

First visit to this restaurant, and we will definitely be returning. I have a medical condition at the moment and this restaurant made me feel so much better with the superb food, service, staff everything was so excellent. Karla our waitress was nothing short of perfect, service was simply fantastic, and the food was awesome. Never walk past this restaurant, sample the the excellent food, service and atmosphere, tell them Andy & Sue sent you ! A*******

Awful service. My daughter and I took her dad for father's day. We sat outside as a sunny day and not too busy.. firstly, we had to remind them about our drinks, starters took forever to come out and waited over an hour for our main food which we never saw. I went in twice to remind them as we had seen other people come after us and have their food served. The 2 managers on duty couldn't be bothered to come over and left me with a younger team member. I was told it's frustrating but it's how they send the food out and it's fathers day! I was so enraged I told them to forget about the mains as it had been over an hour and we went home. Thanks for a memorable fathers day. Do not go there!

We visited ask Italian in Cardiff last week and were very disappointed with the general cleanliness of the restaurant.
The floor beneath the tables were dusty and grimy.
The windows were historically dirty.
The stairs look like they had not been cleaned for weeks.
The tables in the upstairs dining area were dirty and there was dust and debris under the tables.
The toilets were disgustingly dirty and the toilet paper dispersers were empty.
Only one tap was working in the ladies.

I went to Ask italian in Brighton with friends for a change as we usually go to Ask in Lewes but we decided to give a try to this restaurant in Brighton. We had a lovely time. lovely food with wonderful presentation. Very tasty and hot. my daughter is two years and I never seen her enjoying sooo much her pizza. Friendly staff. Defo coming back again. I don’t know what’s the difference as the food supposed to be the same but the experience was really amazing.

Beautiful meal and attentive staff, would happily return. Personally I would prefer that children were seated in a different area as they are very disruptive, but I know many would disagree with me.

Food amazing, cheese fondue yummy. Chicken & mushroom risotto one of the best in my life. Definitely in my top 2. Staff very helpful and friendly. Went and told the chef that the risotto was amazing. Sat 27 May 2023 Hull.
