Purchased a dress in a size 14, they sent a 16 however I did not see this initially as the cardboard tag states 14. Washed the dress as it was a bit "starchy" and had a lingering smell on it. Came to put dress on and realised it was a 16! Contacted Anna Davies who basically said "tough" I shouldnt have washed it. They should have sent the correct dress.....

Wow I have now just read Anna Davies reply and as a direct result of their reply I shall take this further as it is now the principle. What they say is a lie, yes I washed the dress and I have admitted that was an error on my behalf. I wasn’t “just after a discount” as they curtly insinuate, what I actually said was at no point had they ever offered an apology for sending me the wrong dress and HAD they offered a small discount as a gesture of goodwill id have been willing to accept that and just have a bigger dress. Your statement of “if you hadn’t washed the dress we wouldn’t be in this situation” should actually be “if we’d have sent the correct size we wouldn’t be in this situation”

Anna Davies is a thoroughly unpleasant company and the staff clearly haven’t gone to charm school, or weren’t listening.

I shall now speak to trading standards over this and potentially look at recovery of money through small claims. It’s the principle of the matter now rather than the monetary value.

Having read the other reviews about staff it’s clear they have a severe problem with staff attitudes and how they are seen by paying customers.

shopped here a couple times and upstairs is lovely . always pleasant and the candles are lovely but now I do not recommend. there is a member of staff on the first floor who needs some special training .
treated like a thief with no reason other than she didn't like how I was dressed (biker) . didn't even hide that she was watching me and made me extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. check your CCTV by all means between 14:35 and 14:50 you just judged me the way I was dressed. wearing a cap because I have melasma but you followed me every where I went. I even wanted to buy a Smudge Jellycat but you had another member of staff watch me here too .
you do not treat people like this even if you're having a bad day . get another job or get trained how to handle your attitude. disgusting.

Awful management who have no idea how to deal with customers. We agreed I could return an item bought as a Christmas present as it was too small, in exchange for a credit note. Had to send several emails to progress. They eventually responded weeks later stating the warehouse said there was a mark on the jumper so it could not be accepted. When I received the jumper back there was no marks on it. I complained and was told by Ella that she would not accept it back. She couldn’t point out any marks from the pictures I sent and accused me of removing the tags and reattaching them which is complete nonsense. When I expressed my disappointment in their poor customer service she threatened me and said if I wrote a negative review she would involve a solicitor.
Complete amateurs - shouldn’t be running a business. They have multiple negative reviews about how difficult it is to return items and how rude they are.
Fabricating stories and making false accusations to customers so as not to lose out on a sale is outrageous.

Poor Experience.
I wanted to return an item and was informed that this was not possible despite having a receipt and tags on the garment (this was not mentioned when I purchased it). So, as I could not have a refund, I looked to change it for something else. However this was not possible as it seemed that many of the small sizes were missing. Eventually we decided to exchange it for gifts instead. The entire situation was made really unpleasant by the woman staff watching us as if we were stealing and then talking to each other in Welsh when we finally got to change the items over. It was clear that what they were saying was unpleasant. I have read through the reviews for this shop and see that sadly our experience is not a one-off. We suggest that your staff attend customer service training and remember the quote people 'never forget how you made them feel'.

I ordered online which was simple and communication was great. Delivery was much quicker than I expected and I received a beautiful quality product, packaged well.
