We had guided tour for Park Guell at 15:45. We couldn't find meeting point easily because it was fae away from entrance to the park and we were late about 15 min. When we finally find store for meeting girl who works there called agency and I spoke to employe who said that there is no way to go to the park, even solo and said that agency won't charge it extra because we showed up.
Later on, money was chared from my card. We didn't make it to the park, took 15 min to find location, were so pissed off and they took extra money from us. This is shame, really. The worst experience ever. Avoid this agency

Toledo, Segovia, Avila, Spain Tour
Terrible!! from the start it was already chaos. 1. we got move to different bus at least 3x 2. Since there were only a few english tour w/ Avila option, they ended up putting us in the spanish tour instead of providing us w/ smaller bus ( i booked an english tour btw) 2. There were no headset provided, so we couldn't hear the tour guide most of the time. 3. Since it's combine with spanish tour, the tour guide was speaking in spanish most of the time and when she tried to translate in English, we could not understand her. 4. There were no clear instruction of where the meeting place was & we missed most of the tour in Segovia. 4. Since we did not have any headset, we missed most of the explanation in each point of interest. 5. I understand the time schedule, but the tour guide could have given us at least 2-3 mins in each point of interest to take pics, instead after she explains things, she would move on while the rest of us are trying to snap pics. Pls drop Amigo tours on ur list!

Aunque avises con antelación que vas con retraso por incidente en la vía te hacen perder el tour. Aún cuando llegue a la primera parada por mis propios medios (pagando otro tour) no permitieron la incorporación a lo que faltaba del tour, alegando incomodaría al resto del grupo, aun cuando esto no les iba a ocasionar ningún tipo de retraso. Para completar la mala gestión le suministre el número de la agencia a otros turistas que también los habían dejado, y a ellos si fueron movidos al tour extra que yo pagué sin costo.
En conclusión si lo compran y se te presenta cualquier inconveniente no te regresarán dinero, ni cambiarán a otro tour.

Booked a joint tour for Alcazar in Seville and then cathedral. We chose an entry time of 930 for Alcazar. When tickets were sent we noticed our entry to the cathedral was 11.00. This gives 1 hour 30 mins to visit Alcazar which is not long enough. When we tried to reschedule cathedral visit it was refused so we have lost money.

Do not use. Completely unhelpful

Terrible service. Our taxi driver went the wrong way and would take longer picking us up. When we spoke to the tour operator they said they would not wait, and when we asked to move it to another day, they wanted to charge us basically the cost of new tickets.

Should have read these reviews first. Use another operator

Fraudulent Company that is dedicated to rob money from tourists, just do not use this company. This Company left a group of 16 people stranded in Madrid, Spain. Not a responsable Company.

Hugely disappointing. We booked a tour with Amigo of Park Guell in Barcelona, via Booking.com, 2 weeks in advance, but 15 minutes before it was due to start, when we were already there, received a text message headed ‘Your tour has been cancelled ‘ - no explanation or apology. In a phone call later they said they’d been unable to buy tickets for that day - a national holiday - and offered us another day, which we couldn’t do as about to leave. We were reimbursed later by Booking.com but a very poor experience, and we’d travelled into the city for that tour specifically. These people sell tickets they don’t have, and are either crooks or incompetent. Either way, avoid!

I took the day trip from New York to Washington DC and Philadelphia and the tour guide (Jay) was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I appreciated how he communicated effectively which allowed for a smooth trip. Definitely got my money's worth!

We booked their early tour to Teotihuacan through our hostel which is collaborating with Amigo Tours. We followed the instructions we were given about the pick up point where we waited for 30 minuttes for someone to pick us up but no one came and the bus left without us. We even asked the staff many times about the exact pick up point, and did as we were told. Amigo Tours refuse to take responsibility for their part and refuse to give us a refund. Very poor service. Would not recommend.

Stay far away from Amigo Tours.

My husband and I were booked onto the early access Chichen Itza tour.

Two nights before our tour they messaged to say that circumstances had changed and were going to send us on a Chichen Itza plus tour which wasn't what we wanted to do but our other days were booked up so we had no choice but to accept if we wanted to see Chichen Itza. After looking back at other reviews it seems like it's quite a common tactic for this company.

Firstly, the new tour they offered cost less than our original tour so I asked for the difference to be refunded. They told me I had to contact Viator which I did. Viator have then contacted Amigo Tours who told them the tour was an upgrade and not cheaper so no refund for us. This is obviously why they cancel the early access tour...so they can force people onto a cheaper tour and keep the extra money!

This new tour is advertised as no more than 40 participants but we had over 50 people on our coach meaning everything was already taking longer.

Before we went when I was messaging with Amigo Tours, I asked if we would have free time at Chichen Itza and they told me we'd have 40 minutes. That wasn't very much so we asked if we could leave the guide and they told me it wasn't a problem and that we should just pay attention to the time the guide tells us all to meet back at the bus. Well on the day, the guide mentioned no time to any of us to be back at the bus and proceeded with the tour. We didn't have an opportunity to get away but carried on as we knew that 40 minutes of free time was going to be better than nothing. Well...we got to the end of the tour and the driver told us we were all going back to the bus. Zero minutes of free time.

When we got to Valladolid, we knew this was only going to be a short stop of 30 minutes but we only got just over 20 minutes.

I have requested a full refund through Viator and Amigo Tours have denied everything. Said we got lots of free time at Chichen Itza and the full time at Vallodid. This means I now have to do a charge back with my bank just to fight these awful scammers.

There are so many tours online to Chichen itza...please do yourselves a favour and choose anyone else but Amigo Tours!

Reservé un tour a La Alhambra con Amigo tours a través de despegar.com. Ni siquiera tuve la oportunidad de hacerlo ya que 1 día antes me informaron que debían proceder a cancelar la reserva porque no recibieron la información necesaria, la cual NUNCA solicitaron, ni a mi ni a despegar.com. Me obligaron a aceptar la cancelación diciendo que "de ninguna manera yo iba a poder hacer la actividad". Luego despegar.com intentó solucionar el problema para reactivar la reserva o cambiarla de fecha y ellos le negaron toda posibilidad diciendo que yo había aceptado la cancelación, una tomada de pelo increíble, cuando fueron ellos quienes dijeron que la tenían que cancelar. No les importó nada, no tuvieron ni un poco de interés ni voluntad en ofrecer el servicio, solo repiten como disco rayado siempre lo mismo. Servicio como empresa lamentable. Deberían clausurarlos.

Horrible company, unprofessional and non-responsive if there are issues. They doubled charged me for a tour and have refused to correct the problem over the last 2 months. I have exchanged 50+ emails with them and still, they can’t figure it out. They did not inform us of any issue with our GoCity Pass on the day of the tour, then secretly, a month later, a charge shows up on my credit card for the tour. We used a GoCity Pass and neither them nor Amigo Tours have been professional about addressing this issue. I would NEVER use them again and 100% do not suggest using either of these companies. The pass may seem like a great deal, but do not give these people your business, it is not worth it. They are openly running a scam, which should be apparent based on all of the other reviews.

This bus tour company is unprofessional and extremely rude. We booked a family tour to Toledo, but the tour guide left as soon as the bus stopped, leaving us to explore on our own. When we complained, he told us to find another guide if we didn’t like him. We also had trouble understanding him. Booking through this company was a waste of time. We learned more from other tour guides than from the one provided by this company.

As a lot of people here have mentioned, they will cancel the attractions the last minute (a day before your reserved ticket). Mind you, I have booked few weeks ahead of time as most attractions need advance booking especially the famous ones. They will give you an alternative date that is not plausible and will ask if you can rebook it at a later date (they asked me to rebook a reservation for
a week and a month later) which I’m sure for most tourists will not be possible given we only travel until certain dates. Save yourself the hassle and NEVER EVER avail of AMIGO Tour services. They are a very disgraceful company who pride themselves for being a seven year TripAdvisor awardee but has proven otherwise to many customers whom they’ve ruined their holidays (including me) for cancelling bookings the last minute. It’s very shameful to have experienced this for a first time user of their services.

Booked tour of Alhambra thru HeadOn and they subcontracted thru Amigo tours. Took a 2.5 hour buss trip from America to see the Alhambra. Received a confirmation from Amigo the night before. When we arrived a met with the guides had no tickets for us. Called Amigo and they said they could not get us tickets but did not let us know. They said they were sorry by that was it. Do Not use this company. Not reliable.

Had a guided tour booked in Madrid to the Royal Palace and they cancelled two days before I was to arrive in Spain - if they had cancelled any later I would have been in the airplane flying to Spain. DO NOT use this company and do not use Headout who we purchased the tickets through. Ridiculous, just hope we get a refund. Post note: Headout gave an immediate refund, though they should partner with another company and NOT Amigo Tours.

We arrived 10 minutes too late (the bike tour took much longer than was indicated on Google due to the steep hills). The guide had left and could not be reached directly. The operator from Amigo Tours could not do anything to help us to reach him/her or to get into the park. 50 euros flushed through the toilet. We had a good work-out though, to end this review in a positive way.

J’avais pris un pass go City afin de réserver 2 visites à Barcelone. Par ce biais j’ai été envoyée sur Amigotour où j’ai donc finalisé les démarches de réservation. Ayant eu un problème de santé qui m’a obligée à annuler mon voyage, j’ai de ce fait annulé le pass de go city pensant que mes 2 réservations seraient logiquement annulées. Et bien amigotour m’a prélevée de 170€ et ne veut absolument pas me rembourser me disant que j’aurais dû les annuler eux aussi indépendamment de mon annulation go city. Je tiens à préciser qu’à aucun moment je n’avais communiqué mes coordonnées bancaires à amigotour et que seul go City les avait puisque j’avais fait la démarche de payer sur leur site. C’est une grosse arnaque qui vise à récupérer de l’argent non dû et se servant du fait qu’apparemment des mails ont été envoyés (en espagnol bien sûr et parmi les dizaines de pub qu’on reçoit quand on s’intéresse à un pays…).
J’ai donc été débitée de 170€ au total et comme seule explication qu’ils ne peuvent pas me rembourser. C’est une honte, ils abusent des touristes et de l’éloignement en se cachant derrière un écran.

I would like to share my negative experience I had with Amigo Tours in hopes that it might help someone else.

I want to start off by saying that this negative review is not directed toward any of the tour guides that we had for the actual tours. They were all fine. This review is mainly directed towards the administrative side of the company.

Our plane had an unfortunate mechanical issue and our flight was delayed by one entire day. We had a tour scheduled with Amigo Tours the morning after arriving which we would now miss. According to their instructions they said to call them at a specific number if any changes needed to be made. I called them at that number but they were closed. So I waited until they opened and called again, I was told that because it was within 24 hours of the scheduled start time (even though it was 23 hours and 55 minutes within said start time) they could not cancel. My attempted call from earlier did not "count" because they were closed. So Amigo Tours charged me a $237 no-show fee (which I believe was the retail price of the tour).

The other main issue we had with them is that they themselves ironically cancelled mutliple tours on us. They tried to reschedule, but their new proposed times never worked.

Again, when we did sync up and actually have a tour with them, the tour guides were good. But understand that if you do use Amigo Tours you are working with a hypocritical company that will not be willing to accommodate you, but you must accommodate them.

AVOID THEM!! I booked 4 tours in Barcelona with them. They rescheduled 3 of them and I received the email only a day before, and they completely canceled the fourth one. They are deplorable and have no respect for those who paid and organized their vacation based on reservations.
