Warranty companies are a SCAM. They'll take care of you when it's simple and low cost. Not when it counts. These thieves are no different. If you have older items in your home, they will base their approvals on depreciation of the item, even on component repairs of the item. I had a gas furnace, old for sure, needed repairs up to 2K+, they offered me $100 suggesting their depreciation model has my furnace worth $95, based on their depreciation model, as if they're doing me a favor. It makes 0 sense to use a warranty company and most reputable places dont even like working with these people. I thought AFC was different but they just do the same thing as all of these thieves, but with a smile. Dont use them trust me. I've gotten almost nothing out of it in 6 years but maybe $150 worth of help.

I turned a claim in where I was unable to get the part. Instead of replacing the stove which cannot be fixed you told me it was a home warranty, not insurance. I think you are a rip off and I am going to turn you into the Better Business Bureau.

I had a garbage disposal replaced which I had to find my contractor. Which I did then I submitted claim to be reimbursed after being fixed.the garbage disposal replaced on 12-27-2025. Been in review and now it is 1-27-2026 still under review for an approval of 150 dollars. The process is not very friendly and this a simple fix. Thinking about canceling. No one has called after claim submitted just still in review! Changed over from American home shield but this company I think may not be what the reviews claim.

Friendly service

The live agent was very helpfull and professional. But they have an AI system to help in managing text messages that gives you wrong answers and wrong phone numbers. If you are looking for a home warranty just make a regular phone call and talk to a live agent. Dont use text messages.

They gave me a good deal. but not able to create online account as I am not receiving the validation email, I wanted to create online account for the claims if I want to make, help me to create online account

I haven’t needed to use AFC Home Warranty, so with regard to their service, I cannot comment. I can say, though, that the rates seem very reasonable; if/when, I have the opportunity to need service from AFC, I will provide a review. As far as the process of enrollment in the plan, it was a very easy process. Thank you.

I am so not happy with your company. I had been advised by repairman that would order the part and would be out last Tuesday or Wednesday. No repairman and washer still broken. Called your company and was told that by a customer service representative that It would take 5 to 7 business days for a response from warranty department to approve this order parts. Due to our disability we can’t take clothes to the laundry shops. We are paying out of pocket for repair copayment and for a nice friendly friend to help us do laundry. I am really disappointed with this. Need my washing machine fixed. I guess you want me to get frustrated and go buy a new washing machine but not fix my machine or replace it.

I could not believe what great coverage and a low monthly fee. Kevin (the sales rep) did a great job explaining the coverage.

I’m sharing this so other homeowners understand how AFC Home Club actually operates.

AFC approved a $500 plumbing reimbursement in writing, then took months to issue payment despite repeated follow-ups. During that delay, they told me the $500 approval exhausted the annual benefit, which is why they denied a separate $100 furnace repair claim.

After months of excuses about processing and mailing delays, AFC finally sent a check... but it was for $100, covering the furnace claim they had already said they could not approve, instead of the approved $500 plumbing claim. That check was issued before the policy was cancelled. Only afterward did AFC claim the $500 reimbursement was “void due to cancellation.”

Beyond this specific issue, consumers should understand how AFC calculates payouts. They heavily depreciate appliances and systems — including air conditioners, furnaces, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc. If your home or equipment isn’t new, reimbursement amounts can be a small fraction of the actual repair or replacement cost. In one case, a nearly $1,000 repair resulted in $100 paid. (This happened more than once. Very frustrating and makes the warranty worthless.) NOTE: Not all companies do this. Make sure the one you choose doesn't pay like this. Unless your house is NEW, you'll end up paying more in premiums than they ever reimburse you for legitimate claims.

In short:

Claims may be approved, then delayed for months

Payments can be issued for the wrong claim and wrong amount

Cancellation may be used after the fact to avoid paying an approved reimbursement

Depreciation makes coverage far less valuable than advertised

Their own emails say: 6-8 weeks to get your check. Outrageous.

I would strongly advise homeowners to read the fine print carefully and not assume AFC coverage will come close to real-world repair costs.
