The experience was very smooth! any problems were answered almost immediately with either an email or a phone call which made it extremely easy to choose the right house!

Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry the experience felt overwhelming. While we want to give students plenty of choice, we also need to make it easy to focus on the accommodation that best matches what you’re looking for. We’ll take your comments on board as we continue improving how we present recommendations and communicate with students.

Thank you for raising this, and we’re sorry for the frustration. Availability is provided and updated by the accommodation providers who advertise on AFS, so occasionally a property may have been booked before its listing is updated. We’re continually working with providers to improve the accuracy of availability and make the search experience better for students.

The greatest advantage of this website is how easy it is to send messages to apartments. It remembers all of your information so that you don't have to re-write it a million times and you don't need to create an account.

Thank you for raising this, and we completely understand how frustrating it must be to enquire about accommodation only to find it is no longer available. Availability is updated by the accommodation providers advertising on AFS, but we agree that students need the most accurate information possible, particularly during the busy Clearing period. We’re actively working to improve this and reduce the number of unavailable properties appearing in searches. We appreciate the feedback.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. AFS connects students with accommodation providers, but we don’t take booking fees or manage the properties directly. That said, we absolutely understand how frustrating it must have been to pay a fee and then discover the property was already fully booked. If you contact our support team with the property details, we’d be happy to look into what happened and help where we can.
A great help for narrowing down…
A great help for narrowing down suitable properties in Belfast. However, it is a pity that paying a deposit does not guarantee that you will actually receive the room you originally paid the deposit for. In my case, the room I had paid a deposit for subsequently became unavailable, and I was offered an alternative room at a higher cost instead.
This is something to be aware of when using the service, and I would recommend confirming what happens to your booking and deposit if the original room becomes unavailable before committing.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased AFS helped you narrow down suitable properties in Belfast, but we’re sorry to hear about the issue you experienced after paying your deposit. AFS is an accommodation search platform and deposits, room allocation and booking terms are handled directly by the accommodation provider. We completely understand your frustration at subsequently being offered a more expensive room. If you contact our support team with the property and booking details, we’d be happy to look into this with the provider and see if we can help.
