24/7 Fitness took 1 year's full-membership, 3 weeks before telling me they were closing!!! Still no refund!!! So, I went through PayPal buyer protection and got my full money back. There are loads of complaints on 24/7 Fitness's FB page. They are absolute crooks.

Used to be a member of the Norwich Riverside Branch and was promised a refund for my ‘paid in full’ membership after the branch’s closure on November the 15th 2019. Following several automated emails from them, delaying the refund payment date I am still yet to receive any form of refund or contact despite being assured that I would get my money back on the 30th of December 2019. It has been impossible to make contact with any members of their team and only automated emails have been received. Quite frankly as it stands, I believe that have taken my money and ran. A similar situation has occurred with many others from what I can understand. If this has happened to you at the Norwich Gym or any other branches, please get in contact with me and let’s try sort this issue out together. It is not fair, nor is the customer service acceptable and they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it. The Norwich branched closed just weeks after taking the payment for a full year and still haven't sent a refund. That was 2 months ago.

I belong to the Halifax Gym, Its absolutely disgustingly filthy.
Toilets always full of Faeces with urine on the seats. FOUL!!!! Showers always blocked with hair. GRIM!!!!! All the floors are rotten, esp the toilets and stinking of URINE !!!! The machines are sticky with people's sweat and where you put the water bottle, the holders are full of peoples chewed chewing gum and dirty tissues.. GERMS!!!!!!! Freezing cold and no heating,, the windows you can hardly see out of.
The roof leaks and buckets around to catch the rainwater.. The floor has broken panels which I tripped up,, the floor has been like this for months.. THIS GYM IS A DISGRACE and needs a complete
makeover!!!!! HEALTH AND SAFETY SHOULD BE INFORMED!!!!!

24/7 Fitness has been selling memberships, shutting gyms and offering NO refunds or communication! You must immediately raise a case with PayPal under ‘buyer protection’, or do a chargeback claim with your credit card company (under section 75 of the consumer credit card act). If any of these fail, take up a direct dispute with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) who will pursue your financial service provider. You are entitled to a FULL refund if you paid for a full year in advance.

Norwich branch closed down a month after I signed up. Staff failed to mention this and still took my payment.

Even though I've been promised a refund, I still have not got it. Zero communication from their staff. They've taken our money and ran.
This has happened to several people I know.

Don't bother joining!

Convinced my teenage son to spend his Xmas money on a year’s membership upfront then announced closure a week later!!! No one in the branch deals with refunds and no one answers head office phone calls or emails!!! Apparently he may get a percentage refunded as per the terms and conditions they never told him about during the sales pitch at the Gym!!! Only God knowS how these people get away with all over the country?!? This was Waterlooville branch near Portsmouth, Shame on you!!!

Scammers! Avoid. Paid for the full yearly membership, they closed at 6 months 6 days and sent me an email that I don' t qualify for a refund! SCAMMERS! And if you doubt me, look at their FB page - it is full of complaints from people who did not get their refunds.

No refund when gym closed. Owed £100 they refuse to pay

I bought a year's membership and they closed the gym down a few months later. Did not receive any refund and they are only replying to my emails with an automated message. Also, the refurbishment to change the gym into pure fitness started a month before the gym closing, so there was loud drilling, lots of noise, and generally poor up keep before it closed.

Brought an annual membership but Norwich branch closed two months later and they refunded a pathetic £35. No contact numbers and when I email their response rate is always the 30th of the following month and the response never answers my main question of why I am only entitled to such a tiny percentage refund! Poor customer service

Wisbech gym closed requested refund as my partner and 1 had both bought yearly memberships, received an email saying we would not be getting a refund.

Paid for 12 month membership in Norwich in Oct, told in November Gym had closed. Can't contact them to get my refund, just an automated email reply. Looking at some of the other reviews people need to post on the Facebook and twitter sites of other Gyms warning people not to pay up front for membership at 24/7 gyms

Someone provide advice on how to get the refund for a prepaid membership please. Obviously we're all here after being conned

Equipment is not well maintained.
Membership is cheap but be warned when joining and DO NOT PAY UP FRONT WITH CASH OR DEBIT CARD, USE CREDIT CARD OR PAYPAL FOR PROTECTION, They have a habit of closing branches and not refunding outstanding membership fees. In fact join another gym.

Avoid at all costs!
Gym was smelly, unhygienic and equipment always broken.
Sent several emails, all ignored, so after 12 months I cancelled my membership which was a total waste of money.
Now I’m getting threatening emails demanding money for missed direct debits, adding £15 on for each week “I’m late”
I’ve called to dispute, number out of service and no response to emails!

Paid £120 of hard earned money for a discounted annual membership of 24/7 Gym Norwich located near Norwich Railway Station. They informed in Oct.'19 that gym is getting closed effective 15-Nov-19, while refunds will be offered for fully paid-in memberships for the unused duration. After providing details of the membership and seeking for refund of 6 months, I have been informed that they don't owe me any refund. 24/7 Gym is run by dubious management and shouldn't be trusted.

Most basic of basic gyms. I paid upfront for 12 months only to find out the gym was sold on and I would not be getting a refund. Ok it was only 2 or 3 months but it's me paying for a gym memership when there is no gym, go figure!! Very poor customer services and will no longer reply to any emails I send,. They take your money then ignore you. Stay well clear from these gyms!!

Like others here, I took a 12 month membership at Bromborough gym. They then shut the gym down after 6 months of my subscription selling the branch to Puregym, I eventually received a £47 refund which represents only half of what they owed me. I anm currently looking in to whether I have a case of taking them to small claims court for the outstanding balance. Its not the amount but the principle. At time of closure, they had 1500 members on yearly subscription who the have shafted.
Gym equipment run always breaking down, general appearance of gym scruffy. Drains in the showers smelt of raw sewerage which could also be smelt in training area.
This is the 3rd gym they have sold, so if you insist on continuing to use 24/7, I would advise paying monthly.
Our gym has been bought by Puregym. While it is under refurbishment we we told we could use the Bidston branch free of charge until the Bromborough gym is ready to use.
My initial experience with Puregym is that its a far company who have the members interests at heart.
** I flooded the 24/7 email inbox with over 300 emails with demands of being paid the sum I did receive. I suggest everyone does the same ***
